Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
Hayley Williams starting to count her chickens at this point in time in her career: she's had a rough outing against her past few opponents like Brenda Song and Camila Cabello, and desperately needs a win tonight in order to stay relevant. The 30 year old rock star acknowledging as much during the pre-fight press junket, blowing a whiff of her bright-yellow hair backwards when she's asked about her current state of affairs by reporters:

“So I lost my last two fights. That sucked, honestly. Not the best end to my first full year of boxing, but I finished 2018 with a 3-3 record (and 4-4 overall), so I’m not being too hard on myself. I’m taking a break from making and performing music for at least the first half of the year, so I’m going to be spending a lot more time training to kick ass!” she smiles, before continuing.

“Well, I’m facing Victoria tonight and I hear she’s pretty good… but I don’t think she’s as strong as my last two opponents, which is a very good thing!” Some self-deprecating humour right there as her comment draws nervous laughter from across the rest of the room. “But she’s experienced and HELLA LONG! I might find myself in a lot of trouble in there but Ive been training 4 days a week this last month specifically for Victoria, so I'm pretty confident I know what I need to do, and hopefully I’ll be able to execute on my plan! I’m excited! Let’s just f*cking do this already!”

Victoria Justice with a first appearance on a Doll Ball thus far, and looking excited at that. The lanky brunette is lounging back in her chair with both arms crossed across her chest and a confident smile on her face.

“She’s right, you know. I AM pretty long!” Justice laughs. “Especially when compared to her. If I can keep her where I want her for most of the fight, I’ll have no problem taking her down tonight. I’ve beaten better and tougher fighters, and Hayley hasn’t been doing so hot lately. So, I’d put my money on me.” Victoria giggles, before turning her gaze towards Hayley herself. “Still, Hayley’s cool; it’s pretty hard not to like her, and she makes pretty awesome music. So, you could say I’m a fan. But I’m a way bigger fan of winning, and that’s the only reason I’m here tonight, unfortunately for her.”

Victoria finishing with a flourish of a cocky smirk, before both girls are indicated to move to the center podium for the traditional face-off. It's then and there where the height disparity becomes apparent: Victoria a full three inches taller and looks even more than that due to her long limbs, and will certainly enjoy this advantage once the fight begins proper.

It’s fight time and Hayley Williams is the first to enter the arena to the blast of her Paramore’s rock music, skipping down the ramp in those funky blue boxing sports bra and shorts that are splashed with shades of white, the sound of her own soundtrack giving her a much needed confidence booster as she smiles and waves to her fans. Victoria enters the arena next, still with that cocky smirk plastered on her face, as though it never even left. The brunette has her hair tied into a ponytail as she strides down the ramp in a turquoise sports bra and sexy black long tights, matching turquoise colored gloves completing her look.

In the ring, both women are ready to get this fight started. We have a wary touch of gloves as signaled by the referee, before the bell rings officially and HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
What Williams lacks in height and reach, she sure as hell makes up for in terms of speed and agility, and we say this whilst realizing that Victoria is already much well-known for moving fast on her own feet as it is. Williams dodging like a blur by comparison, blitzing forward in the footsteps of some of her other Flyweight counterparts in her own stable, and shooting jabs at the head from the get-go. Victoria by nature calm, collected, punching back but slightly taken aback by the Canadian rocker’s rapid assault. Still, that laser-focus spirit enables Victoria to blast a couple of straight hands down the middle throughout the first round, at one point almost taking Hayley’s head off when a right cross smacks hard into her arms and ALMOST cuts right through, nearly impacting the chin. Hayley nonetheless stunned by her counterpart’s unexpected power, needs to reevaluate her strategy at the end of these three minutes when she eats a couple more grazes to the chin.

ROUND 2:
That reach on the brunette’s jab is gonna spell trouble for Hayley, whose only defence is to stay the f*ck away from her foe. But she ain’t gonna score any points just based on that. Then again, buzzing about like a bee on steroids doesn’t seem to confound Victoria too much, who’s able to predict Hayley’s movements and land those clean shots in and out, at least in the first minute here. It’s only when Hayley begins to slow down and box properly does she find some renewed success for herself, by keeping her distance in there but doing so with deliberate steps backwards whenever Victoria attempts a charge forward, and then planting shots into the cheek and chin, does the round head in the Doll’s favour. As mentioned, Justice finding herself on the receiving end of the abuse all of a sudden, her attacks getting blunted with Williams firing a one-two jab-jab into the face for every single hand she shoots back. Williams taking the second round comfortably for herself, and the audience gets treated to what both these two gals can do in the ring.

ROUND 3:
Justice getting frustrated early and opts to rush towards the singer, trying to overwhelm her with a litany of hooks left and right. Early on, she does manage to surprise Hayley with the sudden attack, a couple of swings lunging at the head danger close. A right hook actually grazes Williams’ tummy, and a dollow-up left smacks into her hastily thrown up guard, but overall they don’t do any real damage, with the Doll simply jumping backwards and out of the way of the rest. Those swings from Victoria are getting more and more erratic, however, and Hayley chooses to capitalise by putting her long jab to good use instead of just retreating. Screw her reach disadvantage here: you don’t need to be taller to land shots on a wildebeest who’s thrashing about in chaos. Still, she’s gotta be very careful not to get smeared all over the face by a single of Justice’s hooks, and for the most part, she succeeds in dodging and weaving her way out of danger.

ROUND 4:
Victoria expending large amounts of energy so far, and quickly, as she looks for an early knockdown but begins to realise that Hayley Williams ain't gonna be one of your regular pushovers. By the fourth round, she’s already breathing hard, and that’s when the Doll decides to press her attack. Now we see Hayley’s speed demon attributes in their full glory, as she circles and plants leather into every part of Victoria’s frame: her face drawing sharp gasps; body taking a pounding, then a first minute flurry to the side of the head leaves Justice reeling backwards from the combination of all those painful shots. Victoria covering up as she retreats, trying to hide her hurt behind her arms. And HERE comes Williams, with that right hand of hers continuing to poke through the defences all the way to the end… RIGHT HOOK suddenly flung from Justice as she tries to bait Hayley into disaster, but FAILS to land when the smaller girl ducks under in the nick of time. A BLAST of an uppercut HITS instead, as she rises back upwards to land on Victoria’s chin, which SENDS HER FLYING OFF HER FEET! Victoria literally knocked senseless by that score of a punch, landing flat on her back in a complete daze of loose limbs and lips! Referee counting her out all the way to 10, and trust us when we say that the crowds are holding their very breaths as every second passes by and the brunette doesn’t make any move to recover! IT’S OVER!!

Official Decision: Hayley Williams defeats Victoria Justice KO4!

AFTER:
What a comeback performance for Ms Hayley Williams! Can you imagine after having lost her last two battles to all of a sudden claw her way back in decisive fashion, AND against someone as dangerous as Victoria Justice? Hayley can’t believe what she just did herself, as she stands over with her mouth open, slightly swaying in shock.

That is, until the referee approaches and lifts up her hand to make the result official. Hayley thereafter thrusting both her hands skyhigh and a big smile breaking across her face. She waves to the cheering fans (who are equally excited by this result), before running to her corner and high-fiving her stablemates.

Victoria finally coming around with the help of some smelling salts, sputtering in shock as she spies Hayley walking over to her in the post-fight. She braces for the worse, remembering how guest fighters are usually (mis)treated at the hands of some Dolls, but is surprised when Hayley simply bends over and asks her if she’s doing alright. All Victoria manages is a proud nod, before she opts to leave the ring as quickly as possible, entirely embarrassed for this outcome. This night definitely wasn’t her best showing, and she knows it.

Nonetheless, Hayley congratulating her opponent later on when she’s interviewed by reporters: “Man…turns out she’s both faster and stronger than I thought…. I’m happy I could outpace her and overwhelm her at the end…this was a dangerous fight for me all things considered so I’m really pumped! Things are really starting to click for me and I feel like I have enough innate talent to take down most girls in this division. I just struggle against the heavier, stronger girls…but it’s fine - I’ll figure them out too eventually. I’m not worried! 2019 is gonna be awesome, I can feel it! I literally can’t wait for my next fight! Thanks to all my fans for coming out to see me! See you soon, guys!”
