during R1: Lopez' speed surprising Casta early - Jlo crossing her arms, bobbing and weaving under the French girl's left, hooking the midriff, then suddenly hopping to the right, pulling the hook in tight to the chin, doubling it up and scooting a shocked Laetitia C to her buttocks. Casta up, clear eyed, ready to go, but Lopez is ON her in a heartbeat. Classic Jlo, wearing out her girl at the ropes - Jen getting rough with her head under Casta's chin, palming the model back by her neck, ladling in the hurt with both hands to that sturdy ribcage for a bludgeoning shutout.

R2: Casta out with a little step to the left - pushing her jab onto Jennifer - Lopez figuring it out after a minute of chasing and getting inside thereafter. Laetitia huddled in close, head to head with Jen - Lopez crowding, then exploding with sudden rips to the ribcage - hurtful blasts have Casta open mouthed and cringing by the bell.

R3: Identical round to the second - Casta with the right idea early, but unable to maintain distance. Lopez bobbing, weaving, cutting down the ring, gets to her foe's chest and outworks Casta on the inside. Laetitia laying in, cupping her hands at Jlo's ears - Lopez pummelling away underneath in sudden left/right hacks.

R4: Chalk up another hard fought round for Lopez. Jen applying incredible latina pressure, getting in underneath the Casta jab, then having her way with batting hooks to the waist and liver, chopping right hands to the mouth and follow up hooks to the jaw. Laetitia taking a terrific punch - often standing in and letting half a dozen Lopez blockbuster splash against her guard and body, but French girl's not busy enough. Laetitia avoiding the shutout with some thumping jabs off the hip and a firm right cross at the bell.

R5: All Lopez early - hounding Laetitia to the ropes, getting rough with her head, palming the brunette back, then twisting into hooks and right hands to the midriff and chest. Casta just sitting in the strands, riding her hands at Lopez' ears, just soaking up leather until the final minute. Down the stretch, Laetitia clocks a wide right to the ear that swats Jen sideways to the ropes - girls trading lustily as they stand parallel to the apron. Laetitia blocking with her left and putting a brutal right uppercut to latina chin - LOPEZ GOES DOWN! Jennifer stunned, hurt at the bell - she beats the count but doesn't look right going back to her corner.

R6: Brutal, banging trade midring as Laetitia comes out flat footed, pushing the jab rather than really sticking it, but nailing Jen with that mean right uppercut as the latina bobs low. Jen paying the price, but she's getting inside, outworking the French girl in the trenches with solid ribwork. Laetitia again: doing some of the right things, stepping back to let Jen fall onto the uppercut, but Casta just not busy enough. Lopez rolling her shoulders, constantly working on the torso of her girl, punishes Laetitia at the bell.

R7: Casta lands an early looping right hand to the ear, cuffing Lopez in a semi circle - Jlo bending forward in an earmuff defence looks hurt and Casta ROCKS her with the right uppercut. DOWN GOES JLO! Lopez stumbling to all fours, takes a woozy 8 and tries to bully her way forward. Casta showing nice footwork, loping back, walking in Jen into a crashing overhand right, stepping out again as Lopez flails a sorry hook, then sweeps back in with another booming overhand right. LOPEZ DOWN AGAIN! Jlo bludgeoned to her knees - eyes unfocused - crowd roaring as she takes a boozy 8. AND LOPEZ COMES BACK! Casta missing over the top - Jen gets inside, and beats Casta furiously to the ropes with a churning 2 fisted attack. Casta under siege but defending herself well - final minute SHE starts to score! Lopez getting picked up with the uppercut time and time again - Casta just riding her left hand on Jen's shoulder, getting her legs and back into pretty, compact rights under the chin that have Lopez wobbly butt at the year! Wild 7th a round of the year candidate, sends both girls to their corners trembling with pain-rush.

R8: Shutout Laetitia Casta. Lopez not moving her head as crisply, not getting as low - Laetitia now snapping out the jab, touching up latina face and backing Jen up. Lopez on her heels not the same fighter - Casta able to extend on right hands that have Jen pulling away in awkward fashion.

R9: Casta stalking - still flat footed, but she's pre-empting Jen with the harsh stick on the face, then leaning in close to loop the right hand hard upside the head. Lopez getting beaten backwards - she's not nearly as busy when she gets inside, prefering to tie up and walk Laetitia back. Sullen, sweaty work as punch outputs drops, Casta potshotting Jen, then bodying up as Lopez refuses to work.

R10: Shutout Jen Lopez. Jen catching a second wind, coming in with her arms crossed at her belly, weaving the Casta jab, coming out of the crouch with a beefy hook on the chin. Laetitia with her back to the ropes over the second half - Jlo in front of her, rotating her torso, coming out of the deep bend with sweeping hooks - Casta doing a nice job of covering up to absorb the shock, but she's not getting off under pressure. At the bell, Jlo showing her respect, gives Laetitia a happy hug - comes back a well received draw on the cards.

After: Jlo clapping, holding Laetitia's hand up as the decision is announced - Lopez admiring the French girl's moxy in soaking up a beating over the first half to make this thing a war down the stretch. Casta hanging on in the top ten with her grittiest performance against top notch comp - French girl not as flashy as some, but showing the kind of heart and heavy right hand that has some comparing her to a young Debbe Dunning.
