Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
It’s another blonde versus brunette match-up here tonight, but between two adorable girls set to clash for ten rounds of Flyweight action. Of course, don’t let them hear you comment about their heights and looks like that - these two ladies are perfectly capable of punching you in the nuts and leaving you writhing in pain.

Sabrina Carpenter is first to speak at the press conference, the small blonde wonder looking decidedly excited about her debut tonight as she bounces up and down in her seat.

“I want to thank Carmen for inviting me to make my debut at the Doll Ball. It's quite an honor, and trust me guys, I'm not going to disappoint. I have a lot of respect Lauren as a fellow artist and woman, and I wish her good luck tonight. But I'm here to kick ass - kick HER ass, specifically. I want to make an impression tonight, and show people what I can do. Maybe even get signed soon! I'm stronger than Lauren, I'm younger than her, and I'm here to win. Hope you're ready for me, Lauren, but I doubt you are."

Some snark in these little munchkins as they equally impress in the words-department. And Lauren is left smiling from across the table, not entirely taking the word of a rookie over her impressive track record, by any stretch of comparison.

"I've won my last 4, can you guys believe it?” Mayberry begins with a chuckle. “I think I'm getting the hang of it, and it's becoming more natural for me. I’m definitely feeling that I'm improving. Tonight, I'm going up against a newcomer, and it's hard to know what to expect from her. Sabrina looks tough, so I'm sure she won't go down easily. Hopefully, she doesn't surprise me TOO much and I can take care of business tonight. Here's to another win!"

Both girls coming face-to-face at the podium, and Sabrina still running her mouth out for a brand new rookie, whilst Lauren is merely grinning back at her without saying a single word in turn. Sabrina is looking cute in a baby blue sports bikini and white boxing trunks, whereas Mayberry is donning her usual pink top and black tights.

The walk to the ring holds no surprises tonight, with both girls looking focused as they make their way to the ring and then head to corners. Lauren is strapping on pink gloves, whereas we have black leather ones on Sabrina. Referee waves for the match to start and HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
We have an impressive and explosive start from Sabrina, who comes in and hot and initiates the first few punches at Lauren’s head. She must have watched the old footage of Lauren getting knocked the f*ck out repeatedly, over and over again, and thinks that she’s got an easy pick of the draw tonight by facing off against the most fragile of the Dolls on their roster. Sabrina impressing early with some heavy shots to the middle of Lauren’s guard, knocking her backwards and just confirming the theory that the Scottish singer simply can’t handle it when power is thrown in her direction. But Mayberry getting into the groove later in the round as well, skirting around Sabrina’s slow swings and then planting more and more punches back into her tiny frame. Mayberry’s not gonna take the round for herself at the end of three minutes, but at least she doesn’t prove herself worthless in its duration.

ROUND 2:
Slow built up for Lauren has always been sort of her weakness in the game, allowing her opponents to run their mouths and of course, their fists all over her, and thereby wrack up the points for themselves. Lauren using the same strategy here of slow but deliberate attacks directed at Sabrina, and it works initially this time. Sabrina spooked by that late barrage she endured last round, and when Lauren starts poking at her eye with her quick jab, it’s all it takes for the blonde to cover up and retreat. And yet, still, Mayberry reluctant to pursue, circling in slowly and jabbing at her opponent’s defences from afar. The real culprit who refuses to engage is the newbie here, resulting in Carpenter losing the round badly by the time her time is up.

ROUND 3:
Slow start to the third as both girls play it cautious, but then Sabrina exploding out of her corner all of a sudden, looking to rush Lauren down. The sneaky blonde was playing possum all this while, and trying to see if Mayberry would take the bait. Thankfully, the Doll was smarter than that, staying backwards and still jabbing at a distance. Now that Sabrina’s rushing in recklessly, she pays her own price for it, getting her face slammed in by a multitude of long shots, with Lauren leading her about by the nose by targeting it almost exclusively. Last few seconds however and Sabrina gets lucky with another one-two combo into the side of torso. And hey, even a reckless charging bull will score 1 times out of 10. Mayberry suddenly forced to cover up as Sabrina catches her in her teeth and doesn’t look eager to let this opportunity go, and what started as a round firmly in Lauren’s favour has suddenly turned in the final few seconds, with Sabrina pulling the rug from under her feet and getting away with a draw by the amount of punches she’s battering into the girl’s tiny frame.

ROUND 4:
The rookie might just well be on her way to a genuine upset here if she manages to keep up the pace of her assault. Truth be told, Lauren looking rattled as the bell rings for the fourth - she definitely can’t afford to make any more mistakes and let Sabrina’s power push her around like that. Carpenter brimming with confidence as she goes back to work, trying to corner the slippery Scot. She scores with a couple of straight hands flung directly at Lauren’s face, but they don’t do much damage as the singer scoots backwards with her left hand outstretched. Mayberry back to counter-punching, and manages to stick that left hand into Sabrina’s lips in the final seconds, tagging her repeatedly and preventing an all-our rout for herself.

ROUND 5:
This fight is beginning to look like it might be get thrown wide open from the continuous back-and-forth between these two. Sabrina however quickly tiring herself out here as she tries for another charge, but those hunkering swings of hers are doing little to assail our concerns. Lauren on the other hand watching this decline with interest, starts racking up points to her face as time goes by - she’s in no hurry to win this this round, that’s for sure, but by the time the second minute rolls by, Sabrina’s head is smacked around like a pinata, with her hands swaying confusedly in front of her chest like she’s completely out of it. All it takes is another one-two sharp hits to the nostrils and DOWN Carpenter goes, stumbling backwards before falling on her bum!

KNOCKDOWN for Lauren Mayberry! Someone shout out a timbre, because that’s what it felt like when Sabrina collapsed to the ground on her back. It might be a good idea for her to stay there, but that rookie spirit in her somehow refusing to quit, and she’s already slowly getting back up to her knees. One foot, then both, just in time for the referee to wave for this fight to continue. We’ve one minute left on the clock and knowing Lauren, she’s not about to take many risks going forward, with the Doll content with taking the round for herself clean from that knockdown alone.

But Sabrina is making things too easy for her - the blonde is barely moving from her spot of recovery, her mouth hanging open, eyes rolling upwards as she merely clings onto to the top rope with both hands to keep herself standing upright, but making no other move to get back into the fight. Lauren is slowly stalking inwards, wary of a trap, but when one, two, three of her shots land on Sabrina’s undefended body, the referee has no choice but to jump in and wave this fight over!

Official Decision: Lauren Mayberry defeats Sabrina Carpenter via TKO5!

AFTER:
HUGE sigh of relief from Lauren’s corner, both at not losing to this newcomer and of course, keeping her precious win-streak intact for now. Mayberry ever the picture of pride and decency, merely smiles and waves to her fans before going over to check on Sabrina’s condition, despite the blonde’s ill words to her at the start of this contest.

Having collapsed back down to her knees hugging her body, Sabrina allowing herself now to be helped back up to her feet, and the two girls briefly congratulate each other on a good fight fought tonight through tears and sweat rolling down their faces.

Later, Mayberry all smiles as she speaks to reporters backstage...”5 straight wins huh? Is this real life?! Lauren chuckles. “Sabrina’s pretty damn good…she’s tough. She’s only 19…I really believe that if she gets signed she has the potential to be a top 20 flyweight in this league. Tonight my experience has been enough to get me the win…she's obviously new and inexperienced, I recognized a lot of the same mistakes I made when I started, and I took advantage. She’ll learn, and maybe even come back to kick my ass in the future, who knows?” The Scottish singer cutie with a wink before disappearing behind her dressing room door.
