Before: "It's still the worst beating I've ever taken," Rachel says of her 10-0 rout loss against Jessica. "It's something I've been thinking about, since I'm in the process of retooling my game. It's like I have a chance to go back to the beginning and correct all the mistakes I made coming up. You can't take that night away from Jessica - she was flawless in that fight - but you CAN let her know that things have changed forever. If she thinks she can still put polish on me like she did that night, she's in for heartbreak."

Alba dismissive - dominating Rachel one of the highlights of Jessica's career and she's never been shy of discussing "The Night". "I love that that beating haunts Rachel," Jessica says in prefight, eyes gleaming. "It's rare that one fighter ever touches another's soul in a fight and gives it a good shake - but I shook Rachel that night. Deep down, she knows that I can get to her worse than any other woman alive, and that's spooking her. I can already tell she's scared - and that makes me want to get at her even more!"

Rachel in midnight blue velvet push up and panties; white gloves, bouncy auburn hair. Alba in teal Into the Blue bikini with stripey bottoms; white gloves, long blonde hair back in sleek low ponytail. During ring instrux - Jessi gives Rachel's togs a catty once-over, sniping: "You look like a bag of crown royal, you cheap tramp." Jessi 1, Rachel 0.

During R1: Textbook pursuit boxing from Rachel: stiff, stubby jab/scooting footwork cut the ring down on graceful, loping Jessica; hard right hand midway through stuns Jess, puts her ropeside; clean up beatdown at ropes punishes Alba's sinuous torso, slender arms, taxing those long legs early. Bell to bell Rachel leave Alba panting, grimacing en route to her stool.

R2: Similar stuff from Rachel - very rapid execution as she steps-to, jabs, hooks off the jab, looks for short right hand chasers, and keeps the pressure on. Alba's escape routes cut off one by one: once again she's herded to ropes, then processed. Final minute all Rachel strong on Jess: Alba covered up face-in-gloves, butt-in-ropes, bending her lissome torso in hopes of rolling the worst of it.

R3: Rachel upbeat, uptempo - quickly upon Jessica with that stubby, insistent jab, robbing Alba of options. Jess doing her sinewy best to walk Rachel into licking uppercuts: MacAdams doing a good job keepng dukes up, elbows in, blocking shots on her approach. Fighting progresses from midring to apron, then finally to ropes as Rachel gets her way. Final minute a thumping, methodical one-way pasting as Rachel's chugging home the punishment to her bendy-backed foe. Alarm in Alba's corner during break - she's frazzled, getting banged up as Rachel's applying suffocating pressure through 3.

R4: Jess flat footed, frowning: she's looking to engage Rachel midring, punch the redhead off her. Alba in forward aspect, weight on left leg as she lifts the sinewy left uppercut into Rachel's body - then Jess eases weight to right foot, looking for the chance to lean back in with slinging rights. Rachel well-smote to midsection, but taking without complaint: consistent receipts from her deeply discouraging to Jessica as Alba can't get her way. MacAdams gradually forward as she collapses distance - fighting well inside the length of Jessi's jab, punishing the Alba ribcage and arms. Fight drifts in stages to ropes as girls grind foreheads inside: Rachel subduing Jessica late, ripping vicious hooks and sidearm right hands into blonde ribs/waist. Jessica hollow-eyed, shopworn en route to her corner - ribcage glowing pink from Rachel's torrid assaults.

R5: Early exchanges see Rachel punch her way to Jessica's chest, outscoring the blonde in the process. Alba steps back for range, leaving her hands low: Rachel steps in a sweeping overhand right and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Smote to jaw, Jessica sprawls to her back...she's up relatively quickly, shaking her head 'no' to the ref - but she's clearly dazed. Rachel efficiently upon Jessica with stubby-jabs to chest - moving Alba to ropes. All MacAdams once position is established - stocky legs strong as she administers methodical punishment. Alba really labouring here - just stooping forward behind her gloves, grimacing as Rachel's hands bounce off blonde flanks/hips/arms. Rude beating has Jessica all tremble-bodied at bell.

R6: Jessica showing her newfound toughness: she's been roughly handled through 6, but comes out determined to compete. Sinewy up-jab from Alba, bringing the left off her hip to snake-strike Rachel's chest and mouth. Slinging right hands from Jess - she's twisting on her hips, turning her torso into the shots. Supple, bendy-backed left uppercuts off the left foot - really rip-snatching at Rachel's pale midsection. Good rangy stuff - Jessica keeping her distance by sliding back in her stance; using an extended left forearm at times to nudge or deflect Rachel. Late the round, gorgeous left hook bites viciously at Rachel's tummy - bringing her hands down a smidge: Jessica turning into a streaking right, kisses Rache to chin and PUTS HER ON ALL FOURS! Sudden, licking knockdown has Rachel blinking in wonder: Jessica prowls past all bared teeth and glaring eyes, finally getting onto the scorecards.

R7: Rachel answers as she has all night...with more punishment levied against Jessica's lithe torso. Grim, hardhearted work - Rachel scoot-stepping behind her jab, getting close, then working brawny as girls bump foreheads-and-shoulders. Jess grimacing, trying to work a bump-and-slug left uppercut inside, but she's overwhelmed by Rachel's shorter, bludgeoning blows in combination. Alba reduced to stumbling confusion in nearly constant contact with MacAdams - blonde with dukes at her temples, trying to lean in close and smother the work as redhead just gets off brawny. Mac beating Jessica numb to the body, then simply cleaning her up as Alba soaks up hurt through 7.

r8: Competitive glare in Jessica's eyes as she gambles early - looking for long right hands and sinewy right uppercuts. All backfires a minute in: Jess standing tall, tries the right uppercut from too far out; Rache leans in quick, puts a chopping right to chin, swivelling Alba's head and DROPPING HER TO HER BACK! Thunderous knockdown - crowd crying out as Jessica's head takes a terrible clout: Alba stiff, stretched out, but gamely rolling over her right side to somehow haul herself up. Badly reduced Jessica a battered shadow of her former self: eyelashes fluttering, lips parted...but she's game, digging in at apron as Rachel moves in. Mac's face set in stone - squaring away on Jessica to shovel on even more damage. Give Jess credit - she's soaking up the beating of a lifetime to her torso, but still finding spots to lean back into ropes with supple uppercuts, trying to find Rachel's off-switch. No dice: Rachel just bending into shots, cleaning up robusto. Bell: a shabby parody of the proud blonde strutter who began the fight.

R9: Jessica quickly to ropes, hands at temples in ragged earmuff, butt in cables as she digs in. Job of work for Rachel: she steps-to, sets her hips, gets after what's left. Hard to watch - Jessica suffering, growing slow and stiff in her movements, reacting late to hard, hard body blows off her tummy and flanks. Rachel using her forearms to shove into Jessica's shoulders, bracing the blonde for extra helpings of body work: MacAdams simply determined to win the fight downstairs tonight. Sad, slow collapse for Jessica: bludgeoning, steady work simply beats willowy blonde to her knees, then onto her face as her arms won't support her weight. KO9, Rachel MacAdams.

After: Jessica beaten sleepy...and Rachel couldn't be happier. "Paid in full!" A happy redhead crows as MacAdams hands Alba one of the worst, most one-sided beatings of the blonde's storied career. "I'll give her this - she IS tougher and more resolute than she used to be," Rachel admits. "Old Jessica would have quit after the third round, but THIS Alba really kept working hard and trying to win. She made me beat her down, and I'm thrilled that I was able to answer the challenge!"

POST FIGHT RACHEL & JESSICA

Posted by Foxfire Boxing on 5/1/2009, 6:18 pm, in reply to "Rachel MacAdams vs Jessica Alba"

After speaking to the press, Rachel McAdams can see Jessica Alba has been revived on her stool. Putting on a grave expression, Rachel makes her way over her defeated opponent. Everyone steps aside to let her come. Jessica looks up wearily and tries to totter to her feet. She makes it about halfway up and then sinks back down.

Jessica looks up and says: "If you're here to walk me, give me a minute, I'm still dizzy."

Rachel stood over the brunette and reached down and hauled her to her feet. Much to everyone's surprise, she gives Jessica a big hug.

"Maybe motherhood really has made a woman out of you, Jessica--good fight," Rachel said lowering the astonished Alba back onto her stool.

Jessica stared at up the auburn haired warrior unable to think of anything to say to this.

"I told you going in this wasn't personal--even if you did insult my outfit--and it wasn't. I had a point to make and I did. Walking you would have gilted the lily--at least this time," Rachel said cheerfully.

"I'll get you next time," Jessica mumbled.

"And there will be a next time, we both know it," Rachel agreed. "You beat me down, but I found out how tough I really am. Looks like you might have found that out, too."

"Darned straight I'm tough!" Jessica said.

"Good, because I'm sure next time I'll be even tougher," Rachel promised and strolled away.

Jessica Alba watched her go: "Hey--McAdams!"

Rachel paused and turned.

"Good fight," Jessica said.

Rachel smiled and headed back to her own corner. Watching fans felt a but relieved to see Rachel was now more her old self again. At least for tonight.
