Before: "I felt sorry for her," Neve says of Jen's new Maxim cover and spread. "It was like - 'ouch: Lacey 1, Jen 0' - you know? It's a little embarrassing to see Hewitt still trying to capture her young-hottie days. I will say this: as a fighter, she's definitely matured and strengthened since the early Samdog days. She's sturdy, hard punching, hard-nosed...I'm a little too much woman for her, but I'd love to see Jen take on Fishel if Dani ever makes her move back. I think Hewitt's ready for that level of competition now." Hewitt nonplussed: she's used to Neve's little attempts to hurt and distract her by this point. "I owe Neve several rounds of punishment," Jennifer says crisply. "This fight's all about distance - I need to make sure I control that variable. If I do, Neve's size won't be a factor. I need to hurt her, then clean up strong. I have no illusions about whacking Campbell out with one shot, but if I can work hard on her when she's hurt, I'll get the ref to do the rest." Hewitt front and center at Neve's weigh-in - standing right there with arms crossed, lips tight. Neve's a pound and a half over: Hewitt refuses the 10k bump in up-front money to allow it - sending Campbell to the sauna to work it off. Neve livid to say the least. Neve in black sport-cut bikini top, racy leopard print bottoms; black gloves; black hair stil wet from the shower. Jennifer in purple bikini; dark curls loose; black gloves.

During R1: Jab to the body; hook to the chin; right cross to the chin: Hewitt puts 'em together pretty, lighting Neve up midring. Campbell steps out to circle/regroup: girls settle into stalking, counterclockwise rotation. Right hands close to chins; left hands slightly lower; left elbows in tight to bodies. Flat footed, shuffling stances - girls set to punch; girls moving heads slowly, dipping slightly at the waist. Sporadic exchanges - fighters pumping jabs, answering any and all aggression with crisp, straight rights and lefts in two-beat pulses. Range favours Neve, but Jen executing very well, punching-with, never giving ground, throwing and landing about the same.

R2: Jen crisp and efficient. Stiff jab occupies Neve - then slips inside, working the body short, chopping right hands/left hooks tummy and tits. Hewitt bouncing mitts off meat, bumping with her shoulder: Neve pushes to disengage, looking to re-establish range. Good closing pressure from Jen - she's beating Neve to the jab, then getting on her before Campbell can act: Neve forced to cover up, absorb to the body as Jen does work. Campbell a little listless on the inside - covering up rather than slugging-with...Hewitt just getting off, outhustling her rival through 2.

R3: Jen gets inside...Neve picks her up a very short right uppercut, then hooks chin to repulse the Hewitt incursion. Neve busier this round - jabbing at range, looking to time Hewitt on her way in and hooking-with. Jen penetrating at times, but paying for it: Neve conscientiously working those tight little uppercuts inside, clipping at her shorter foe. Neve hooking Jennifer's jugs pretty consistently - Campbell settling in on the Hewitt rack as a fundamental component of the overall fight plan.

R4: Same again: Neve starting to dictate terms of engagement - making it more expensive for Jen to get inside. Hewitt will to pay the price - once she's close, she's getting off effectively - bouncing short, thumping punches off tummy/ribs. Neve's uppercut a real problem for Jen inside: Hewitt's eating it, then getting bumped back outside as Neve imposes her will through 4.

R5: Neve patiently coming forward behind the jab, starting to take canvas away from Jen. Hewitt no longer penetrating on her own terms: she's getting off only after Neve punches. Gradual, incremental progress for Neve: jab bashing at Jen's skull/guard; hooks taking Jen to rack and ribs; short right hands clubbing at Jen's ear, left hip. Hewitt banging back in spots, but she's being punched-and-bumped out of her positions...this is Neve forcing exchanges, winning them, then walking her girl down.

R6: Jen edges inside....Neve keeping elbows in, dukes at cheeks - she's blocking shots on her elbows, then picking Jen up vicious little compact uppercuts. Hewitt's feet scoot forward after a particularly stiff uppie clips her chin: Neve putting her shoulder into Jen, bumps Hewitt back outside - bouncing a jab off hairline for good measure. Rejected inside, Hewitt's looking confused: Neve jabbing, walking Hewitt down, leaning into hard right hands and still hooking the stuffing out of Jennifer's jugs. Bruising stuff - Neve extending nicely, hitting Jennifer consistent, heavy strokes: Hewitt's wobbly butt at the halfway point, getting ragged in retreat. Attrition continues - Neve patiently stalking, getting off methodical, bringing hands back, keeping elbows in to reset. It's all too much: brace of hooks late disorganizes Jen, punching her out of her stance - she's on her heels, exposed when Neve's right hand lands flush to chin. Jennifer reeling to ropes, long lashes fluttering: Neve hops-to, eyes bright. Short, drifting right hand to face stuns Jen, sitting her in rope; Neve doubles it up, landing a second brawny right to sleepy Hewitt face; hook to tits off Neve's right foot; lean back in for a third right hand to Jen's left cheek; lean onto right foot to hook those tits a fat, whacking blast and the ref moves in. Hewitt a stunned, confused little beauty, hands at her sides as official cuddles her to safety. TKO6 Neve Campbell.

After: Campbell with a hard glare as she stalks off, looking over her devastated opponent with smouldering satisfaction. "I was definitely pissed after the weigh in," Neve says, toweling herself off on camera. "She had a lot of nerve, and I think that gave me extra motivation to get her out of there tonight. I was kind of sluggish early - don't know what it was - but I think she probably won the first two rounds just by being busier. Umm...but it was the uppercut, you know? I found my uppercut inside, solved her, then started walking her down and breaking her up. Just too much woman - that's the whole thing. She can spin it any way she wants, but I'm just too much for her."
