BEFORE: Vaugier a tough, well-schooled Canuck B-movie battler - honed in competition against the likes of Ledford and Ona Grauer...shot against Rachel MacAdams is a dream come true. "It hurts to see useless girls like Ashley Greene or Minka Kelly get work, when I'm so much farther along than they are - so much more polished as a fighter. I could compete with every single name in the bantam top 10 - including Lilly. I feel like a big gem in a vault somewhere - while a bunch of trinkets out on public display get all the attention. This fight will change all that." Rachel nodding - she's in agreement with Vaugier's high self-assessment. "There's good fighting in Canada," Rachel says in prefight, "and Emmanuelle's about as good as it gets. I actually have her rated ahead of both Greene and Neve Campbell in my personal scouting - I think Em's a little more professional and quicker, though all are very strong at the weight. I'm pleased to be giving her this chance: it's high-time the FCBA showed some of the talent up here!" Vaugier in purple sport bikini; small black gloves; black hair loose. Rache in baby blue twist-tie halter and hipster bottoms; small white gloves; hair in scrappy twisty-bun with strands bracketing face. NOTE ON VENUE: This fight is undercard to Biel/Cuoco - both fights going at Montreal's Olympic Stadium (site of Duran/Leonard 1)

During R1: Classy shutout, Emanuelle Vaugier. E displaying her versatility as Rachel advances behind rigid peek-a-boo guard - stepping in and out on redhead; circling her clockwise. Darting, heavy jab for Em; scraping left uppercut testing the bars of Rachel's raised guard; booming right hand triggered off the shoulder, slamming into guard; thick left hook tucked in behind Rachel's right elbow; drilling straight right stamped onto Rachel's tummy, under her elbows; chopping, side arm right hand hacking at Rachel's waist in behind left arm. Vaugier's footwork superb: always turning Rache to her right; never out of balance. Bell: Vaugier smoldering, making smokey eye-contact as Rachel's whole body hums from a tasty beating.

R2: Pay-Back, Rachel Mac. Rache still showing the peek-a-boo, but jabbing out of her guard now, yanking back the initiative from Em. Double hooks PIK! PAK! taking Emanuelle in behind right elbow as Vaugier shows a similar peek-a-boo/elbows-in look. Bam-bam one-twos up top slam off Em's guard, driving her backward: Rachel walking her girl down - occupying the defenses up top in hopes of wedging in that thudding hook clean to body. Vaugier not shut out: she's jabbing well from her guard; walking Rache onto the odd left uppercut in tight as Rachel's closing...but MacAdams the clear aggressor in a hard-working second.

R3: Emannuelle takes back the initiative, settling into Rachel's rib cage and waist with biting, compact hooks. By the time Rache realizes Em's camping out, redhead's behind brunette in terms of punches thrown and landed: Mac edges in shoulder to shoulder to work, but can't close the gap. Spirited bump-n'-slug midring - girls rotating gently clockwise in a phone booth as each rings the other up to torso. Biting hooks from Em threaten to undo Rachel's top-knot late: brunette showing a vindictive streak when it comes to MacAdams' breasts.

R4: Rachel drops the jab out of her guard; hooks off it; closes to work inside again. Bitter tit-for-tat exchanges - girls heads-and-gloves all rubbing close - one staying covered up peek-a-boo as the other bangs out crisp punches. Each loving the left hand - hooking with tidy, compact form to flanks/breadbaskets/breasts. Each bursting right/left/right across offending belly buttons and waists - small gloves chopping away at tight-toned abs. Mac begins hacking assault upon Em's biceps this round - pounding away flat-knuckle as brunette's covered up tight.

R5: Pivotal 5th round in a see-saw affair so far: Vaugier comes out smokin' RIPPING her hook to Rachel's waist, backing her up early. Mac exhaling through pursed lips, keeping her dukes up/elbows in: Rachel really feeling it from Emannuelle - redhead's pretty face tight with concern. Vaugier clubbing away head and shoulders - usually blocked - but it's setting up tasty body licks and keeping Rachel defensive. Mac not shutout, but she's outworked/outmuscled as Vaugier bangs out the fifth to take the first half of this fight.

R6: Same stuff - girls locating each other with jabs from high guards; closing; bumpin'-n'-sluggin' shoulder-to-shoulder. Little too choose, but Rachel seems to be digging out a little give from Vaugier's flat, hard paunch - punching brunette hips back; parting brunette lips with little gasps; forcing Vaugier back in the exchanges. Willful stuff - ladies trading thick n' short inside, clubbing/swatting/chopping away to bitter effect.

R7: Rachel takes the fight's first back to back rounds - continuing to invest heavily in Vaugier's tidy midsection. MacAdams bending Vaugier forward with biting hooks deep to belly; moving Vaugier sideways with thudding hooks in behind right elbow; picking Vaugier up out of her crouch with ringing left uppercuts off left foot. Emanuelle blinking, backing off: Rachel definitely walking her girl down, imposing will over latter half the round.

R8: Rachel sensing give - goes at her girl with fresh vigor. Mac edging in with left shoulder - hooking up that belly meat - pushing off with extended left elbow - walking brunette down. Emanuelle discouraged: still showing good defensive form, not breaking down - but Rachel's opening a big gap downstairs, owning Em 3 and 4 punches to 1. Rachel unleashes late - drubbing the belly right/left/right; clobbering Em's ears left/right; splitting the mitts little right uppercut off right foot; finishing up the hook to chin as Vaugier's stumbling backward. Bell: Rachel making hard eye contact; Vaugier definitely buzzed through 8.

R9: Waterloo for Emanuelle: Rachel jabbing Vaugier to ropes, squaring up on her, issuing pulverizing beatdown. Long minutes for pretty Emanuelle: she keeps dukes at temples - presses elbows to her ribs - slumps against ropes as Rachel belts away brawny. Mac just snapping hungry fists off Emanuelle's tasty torso - bouncing mitts off flanks; tearing up tummy-meat; pummeling the arms. As Vaugier loosens - breasts and chin go on sale: MacAdams scouring away close-in uppercuts, loosening Vaugier's knees. Emanuelle tough, durable: she doesn't go down - but this is the most one-sided round of the fight - clearly showing Rachel's strength of will through 9.

R10: Vaugier battered, bleeding from her nose, but still showing tight defensive form: Rachel jabs her to ropes, squares on her, but eases off the gas just a touch, recognizing Em's not ready to go. Rachel sustaining blanket-pressure on Vaugier - pounding her biceps/flanks - bodying up on her to press her to ropes for resets: redhead just smothering brunette her, containing her rather than seeking KO. Vaugier crouching behind rigid defences, grimacing as RAchel works flanks and waist behind either elbow, but basically keeping it together to bell. Comes back UD10 Rachel MacAdams.

After: Vaugier downcast: A-list talent shone down the stretch as Rachel finally puts her foot down. "Whew!" Rache says in postfight, wiping her brow with exaggerrated relief. "Early on it was touch and go - it was just a matter of who would blink first. When you need a girl to blink, you have to go to her body - so that's what we did - just staying on her, tapping her tummy, getting her breathing hard. I FINALLY got some give out of her in the seventh, and it was enough: after that, i felt like I was rolling her up - and in the 9th, I won the fight with a tremendous barrage. She's tough though - don't think Neve would have finished tonight, and Ashley Greene shouldn't even be part of the discussion as far as I'm concerned."
