Alexandra Daddario
(34 / 5’7” / 17:16:1 FCBA / Foxfire)

Alanah Pearce
(27 / 5’10” / 0:0 FCBA / Free Agent)

Results: Lookout! / Story: The Comediennes

Pre-Fight:

“Well, the plan was to fight Kate first but things didn’t work out,” Alanah says. “Just scheduling things. We’re confident it’ll be sorted out soon. In the meantime I’ll have to settle for Dadarrio, who if we’re honest is just the cheap imitation of Kate Upton anyway. So it’ll be a nice little preview of my Upton fight!”

“I have no clue what to expect,” says Alexandra. “She sure has a mouth on her. Does that mean she can fight? No. But it doesn’t mean she can’t either. I just have to trust my experience will carry me against an unknown, unexperienced opponent. But she wants credit for something she’s never done before. She’s not in my league and she knows it. It’s just a lot of bluster.”

R1: Both girls come out looking very athletic. Alanah in a pale pink top and shorts to match her gloves, Daddario going with an earthier green. Their hair are both pulled back in a ponytail. Daddario sporting her classic brunette look while Pearce’s silver locks shimmer under the spotlights. They meet in the middle and it’s on!

Pearce has the reach advantage and she makes good use of it early. A few jabs to keep Daddario off balance. The vet is trying to cut through the new girl’s tactics, but she’s finding it difficult to get anywhere close to her. Alexandra eats a few more jabs before finally backing off. She shakes her head, clearly frustrated. The two saddle up again, gloves coming up as Pearce continues to be the aggressor. She’s keeping Daddario at a distance, not wanting to let her get anywhere close and use her power. Alexandra replies by trying to stick a few jabs of her own, but Pearce is moving well. Well enough to scoot out of the way.

Bleeding into the third minute now, neither girl has been willing to step in and take any punishment. Daddario once again tries to go around Pearce’s defenses, and after a few jabs peppered to her face, she finally lands the first big shot of the match! Her green gloves slam into Alanah’s right ribcage and Pearce’s eyes go wide. It’s the first time she’s been hit this hard and it shows.

Daddario tries to press forward, but Pearce finds an uppercut that hits her brunette opponent right on the chin. Daddario looks dazed and Pearce comes in. She throws a right hook, but Daddario somehow ducks it and slams Pearce in the ribs once more. Alanah backpeddles, but uses her reach to send a right straight to Daddario’s jaw as she backs off. The bell rings and that last blow might have been the difference in the round.

Pearce goes up 10-9 in her first ever round.

R2: Daddario comes out more aggressive in round two. She’s able to get in on Alanah quickly before Alanah can use that reach advantage. Daddario knows she can’t throw small stuff here while she’s in close. She opts for uppercuts to Pearce’s body and they are working like a charm. There’s a loud *thunk* with each and every blow. Alanah’s toned abs get worked over as Daddario is able to get her to retreat to a corner.

Alexandra starts to go to town on Alanah, throwing lethal combos to Alanah’s head. But the Aussie is able to block most of them and slide out of the corner. As she does, she slips in a left hook and now it’s Daddario who is banged into the corner! Alanah works a few combos, hitting Alexandra with left and right straights. The vet gets her guard up and then grabs Alanah for the clinch.

Daddario works her legs, churning them as she pushes herself out of the corner. After the ref breaks them apart, she gets a beauty of a left cross to Pearce’s chin. It’s enough to knock Pearce backwards and Daddario follows. But the bell rings before she can do any real damage. Much like the last round the girl who landed the last big blow gets the round.

We’re tied 19-19.

R3: Each girl comes out a little more tentative. The strength of their opponent’s blows make them move a little more cautiously. Alanah strikes first, going back to her reach advantage. She’s going to keep pulling from that well as long as Daddario gives it to her.

This round doesn’t have many fireworks. A small flurry in the middle of the ring that Alanah barely wins. But for the most part the rookie does a good job of controlling the pace of the fight. She uses her long arms to keep Daddario at bay and as the bell rings Alexandra knows she probably lost that one.

Pearce back up 29-28.

R4: It’s more of the same as last round for the first minute. Pearce isn’t letting Daddario do anything while also not really doing any damage herself. She might be taking her gameplan a little too seriously, which can happen with rookies. Pearce doesn’t quite have the killer instinct yet, so when she hits Daddario with a jab that staggers her she doesn’t go in after her right away.

It’s a costly mistake. Pearce’s corner is yelling at her to go in for the kill. She looks shocked and then steps forward. But by then Daddario has recovered and is able to keep her guard up. Alanah still hammers the veteran. Her hooks are a thing of beauty, and when she connects she’s able to knock Daddario backwards with ease. The smaller girl keeps her guard up though and doesn’t throw much back.

Alanah continues to throw big blows that get blocked. Every now and then she slips in something big. A hook here. A right uppercut there. But for the most part she missed her window of opportunity. Daddario escapes what could have been a disastrous round with smart defense and picking and choosing her counter punches.

Pearce still takes the round wide, but it could be a massive round for Daddario to get through. 39-37, Pearce.

R5: It’s clear Alanah is aggravated that she had a chance to take down Daddario and missed it. So she comes out a bit sloppy. Instead of keeping to her game plan, she goes head hunting.

Daddario is able to capitalize.

She dodges a right hook and then sends a left cross to Pearce’s chin. Pearce comes back with a haymaker that Daddario stears clear of and counters with an uppercut. Pearce is knocked back! Dazed! Daddario goes in. She starts beating the crap out of Alanah. The Aussie girl is up against the ropes. She is getting batted around from right glove to right one. Even with her hands up, Daddario is knocking Alanah around. It’s a slaughter!!!

But then, BAM!!!

Alanah finds an uppercut out of nowhere and it’s Daddario who is dazed. Alanah rushes in. A right hook that knocks the brunette back some more. Then a left uppercut to the stomach. Daddario in trouble. She’s doubled over and Alanah gets ready to throw a right cross…

BAM

Now it’s Daddario who found a left uppercut and knocks Pearce back! Unbelieveable! The two girls stand in the middle of the ring trading heavy blows, neither one backing down. As the bell rings it’s Daddario who comes out slightly better than Pearce. A much-needed round for the veteran as she tries to close the gap.

After 5 we’re at 48-47, Pearce.

R6: Strategy has flown out the window for both fighters. They have turned this into a brawl. Just when it seems as if one girl has gotten the advantage, the other one stands her ground and lands a shattering blow.

They fight even for the first minute, but then Alexandra finds her right hook and keeps going to it. She sinks it into Alanah’s ribs. Alanah’s guard sinks down and then Daddario uses the same hand to hit Pearce on the cheek. She’s knocked back to the ropes again. The Aussie is defending herself with her life.

Daddario keeps on trucking. She gets in close and throws a few uppercuts to Pearce’s body. The Aussie is huffing and puffing now, her face red from a lack of air. Daddario gives her no time to breathe as she continues working those now softened abs.

Pearce tries for the uppercut one last time, but Daddario knows it’s coming. The rookie has run out of tricks and the punch misses. Daddario looking smooth as she leans back and then snaps back in with another right hook. Pearce is sliding along the ropes. Daddario hits her again. It’s a brutal shot. The rookie is still standing! But her guard is down.

Daddario plants, twists her hips, pivots, and throws a beautiful right that nails Pearce straight on the right cheek.

The free agent falls against the ropes as her knees give out. She’s down and the ref rushes in to point Alexandra to a neutral corner.

“6… 7… 8…” the ref counts as Alanah starts to rise but then falls back on her butt. “9.. 10!!!” the ref waives his hands in the air.

Winner: Alexandra Daddario via KO6

Post-Fight:

“If that was a preview of her fight against Upton I have one thing to say…” says Daddario. “Congrats on your easy win, Kate.”

“First fight, but that’s no excuse,” says Pearce. “I wasn’t good enough. I had a chance to do some damage in round 4 but didn’t. It’s definitely humbling. I just have to be better than that.”
