4. Emma Watson vs Felicity Jones

Emma:

(30, 5’5, 43:27 FCBA, VIXENs)

Felicity:
(37, 5’3, 3:5 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
“A minor setback,” Emma brushes off rumours that she’s done and dusted in her career. “I’ve got more words for Saoirse that I’ll reserve for another time and date. For now, I’m happy to face off against Felicity, a fellow Brit who’s making a name for herself on the indie-circuit. I’m not so sure she can fight though. I mean - I’ve watched some of her tapes as homework, so I’m hoping to make this as clean and painless as possible.”

“Of course everyone knows how far the high-and-mighty Emma Watson has fallen. She’s probably the most famous of us Brits out there in the entertainment industry. Pity her in-ring skills has left a lot to be desired,” Jones smirking back. “I wasn’t sure what her organisation was thinking of when they offered me this fight. Of course I wasn’t going to say no, but I’m left wondering what Emma stands to gain out of a win tonight. Not that she will, of course. If Hermione wants a fight, I’ll be sure to give her one.”

Small height imbalance as the two Brits face each other down whilst on stage: Emma coming in slightly taller, but Felicity’ toned body shows off the amount of gym work she’s been putting in behind the scenes and in between her various film-shoots. Ladies actually shake hands after posing for the stare down, being Brits after all and bound to some semblance of polite competition.

Hours later, Jones is the first to enter the small arena, coming down to the ring in a simple black bra top and white boxing tights, her short brown hair tied up in a neat battle bun. Watson raises a fist of her own as she strides down the central lane in a white sports bra and yellow trunks for bottoms. She’s donning red gloves for this contest.

The two girls square off from opposite corners of the ring, and without further ado, HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Emma starts the action off as though she’s got a vendetta to execute, each punch sent into Felicity’s arms like a shockwave of pent-up emotion and rage, not particularly directed at her fellow Brit, of course, but more a symptom of her long-terms prospects in the ring (or lack thereof). She draws several gasps from Felicity’s lips, each blow landing crisp and clean, and further highlighting her surprising power, as the taller Brit hounds her shorter counterpart throughout the first round. Felicity looks nothing more than a lost lamb in there, of course coming in seven years older isn’t helping her case as much as the faster, more spirited Watson, who keeps on landing blows to her face and chest, with Jones’ only salvation being the occasional blast back to the body or into Emma’s guard, which don’t seem to do much to dissuade the raging actress from taking the first round wide.

ROUND 2:
Felicity finds her own fire in the second, more comfortably taking Emma’s shots on her arms before unleashing sudden, punishing return crosses to Emma’s own guard, drawing loud squeals from Watson as the Harry Potter star gets pushed backwards. Felicity makes up for her lack of height with a stockier frame, punishing Emma to her body each time she gets in range. Emma gets bent in two each time she isn’t careful and lets Felicity rush at her close, her height becoming a curse as her body takes a beating from repeated swings into her sides and chest. Round ends and Jones ain’t getting off completely scott-free either, with Emma’s spirited offense meaning the actress is scoring plenty of shots to her face and chin as she retreats, though it’s gonna take much more than that to floor the stockier Brit.

ROUND 3:
Rumours swirling this past year, especially at Emma Watson’s disappearance and seclusion from the spotlight - she hasn’t had a movie out in years and now with the pandemic raging, she’s been also perfectly content to dive deep into the world of celebrity boxing instead, again CLASHING with Jones in the first minute as the two ladies exchange mutual hooks to the face and body , elbows chugging in and out as they swing at each other in tandem. Felicity partially surprised by Watson’s refusal to back down, but this lack of distance is FINE by her, as she drills another right hand to the ribs, drawing a loud groan. Emma however is doing her best to block those body shots, more content with whipping her own gloves into and across Felicity’s lips, drawing a loud ooouff as Felicty’s face gets stuffed with leather throughout this wild melee. Round ends with both women spending the last minute pacing about each other from a safe distance, parts of their body and jawline throbbing from the abuse and eager to catch a breather for themselves.

ROUND 4:
Felicity suddenly rushing at Emma makes a lot of sense - the veteran actress is pushing 40 and needs to make a statement, and fast. She surprises Emma with an early combination to her arms, then loops an overhand right that crashes into the side of her head. Watson reeling, trying to regroup and hopefully battle back, but keeps getting hounded by those big shots over the top of her guard and the occasional bashing glove down into her tummy. That first minute’s a complete wreck for the Vixen, till she finally manages to get away with distance. By this time, however, Felicity has herself run out of breath. She’s still controlling the action and the ring-space, however, cutting Emma off whenever she tries to escape down the extent of the ropes, but her stamina can’t quite keep up with the spritely Brit, who dashes out of her grasps whilst poking jabs at her face. End of the round and Felicity can take comfort in the fact she’s won this wide, though we’re not sure how far the aging actress can go...

ROUND 5:
Another even round and one thing’s for sure: Felicity Jones is putting up one HELL of a fight for the former Flyweight champion, with Emma landing plenty of shots to her face and body but having trouble stopping her cold in her tracks. Felicity capitalises on this imbalance of power, repeatedly locking her arms to take the punishment before letting her own hooks rip forward, hoping to catch Emma on her face and send her spiraling downwards to the canvas. Emma weaving around the punches easily, for the most part, but one or two swings do catch her clean on her body and ears, which disorientate her at specific moments. The truth is, both girls are fighting at a deficit here: Felicity also running out of breath to give chase, which means the round effectively ends on another draw.

ROUND 6:
First minute and girls take a much-deserved breather from each other, circling slowly and only pawing at each other with jabs. Of course, Watson does more damage in her natural environment, using her shoulder width to tag Jones repeatedly on her cheek and chest. Felicity needs to rush in to brawl, but her chest is heaving up and down, and those punches landing all over are not helping matters along. Jones groans as another stiff right hand is sent in quickly through her arms, impacting her chin and throwing her head back with a loud gasp. Watson senses a possible opening and CHARGES... Jones pushed backwards with more dull smacks of leather impacting her body and arms, her head and torso getting tossed this way and that as Watson drills punches into her being. A final DING across the head seems to do the trick, however, as Jones half-twists into the ropes, before COLLAPSING down to her knees, her mouth hanging open and her eyes rolling up, before she falls face-down to the canvas! Referee rushes over to count her out but it’s no freakin’ use - Emma Watson scores the first and only KNOCKDOWN in the sixth, and just like that, it’s OVER!

Official Decision: Emma Watson defeats Felicity Jones via KO6!

AFTER:

Proud celebration from the VIX corner as the night is still young, with a much needed win scored here, especially with that upset in the previous fight. Emma seems to have calmed down a tad, walking over to Jones and helping her sit up by the ropes, that freckled, doe-face of hers softening as the two Brits share a brief hug and promise to do this again someday.

“We all go through ups and downs,” Emma nods to reporters later by ring-side, still bouncing up and down from left-over adrenaline. “I’m lucky enough to have been champion once, but I’m still hungry for more in the ring. First step is paying Collins and Holt back for what they did to me prior. And who knows what might happen after that?”
