Before: Watts the so-called 'Aussie Penelope Cruz' - not a lot of tape of her Stateside but Pacific rimmers swear she can box. Garth hand picked to debut against - vote of confidence against Jenny's aging legs and an indication that somebody at Tech may not like Garth all that much. JG with all the experience in the world, good solid fundamental fighter, stockier build than Naomi - pundits appreciate Watts not taking a cupcake to make a hollow splash with.

Naomi in navy bra and boycut panties (rent The Ring for reference) - Jenny in auvergine (aubergine? Eggplant purple) velvet sportsbra and boy cut trunks.

During R1: Garth in an Evander Holyfield look, right hand up around her mouth left across her stomach, stance closed as she feints and twitches, moves her head. Watts upright, jab - right hands, eyes intent as she looks to lead. Classy Jenny Garth countering - pretty selective, but she's dipping and rolling inside and out Naomi's predictable stick, getting bouncing touches off the the ribcage, moving in close to clinch, walk Naomi back to the ropes for breaks. Stop and go first for Garth as she controls the pace.

R2: Watts launching rigid straight one-twos, trying to mop up a rangy hook, but it's a slow, easy read for Garth. Jenny able to pick her shots - dipping inside Naomi's jab to tag that flat gut the counter hook, rolling the right crosses and coming back with jagged rights short on the chops from close range. Watts slightly shaken at the midway point from a right hand counter - Garth immediately crowding, walking her girl back, stressing the legs of her opponent early.

R3,4: Systematic Jenny Garth going to work on a newbie. Jenny in that crossed arm, closed guard just rolling and bobbing punches, never really getting tagged as Watts tries to keep Jen on the end of her shots. Garth can get inside whenever she wants - she could be busier, but she's getting such clean, hard contact to the ribs - really turning into beautiful clouts, that it's hard to deny on the cards. Effect on Watts is cumulative - blonde keeps coming forward, still determined, but legs are softening up, she's getting wrong footed, spun, walked around and touched up as Garth applies the class through 4.

R5: Jenny really opening up the veteran bag of tricks. She's head butting Naomi viciously, but subtly, by getting position like a basketball player and letting Naomi's own momentum run face into bone. Ref can't call it - it's incidental contact, but boxing insiders know better. Garth drifting low with her hooks, shunting Naomi's hips back and drawing breathy grunts from the Aussie, but Jen immediately touches gloves and backs off like it's an accident. Watts getting roughed up and abused, but confused as to intent and deliberation on Garth's part - clever Jenny walking the tightrope of innocence as she has Watts lumping up through 5.

R6,7: Garth moves from counter puncher to lead these rounds, aggressively getting after Naomi behind a thumping jab, short right hands to the chin and digging brutality to the rib cage. Long sequences of Jenny working Naomi at the ropes - Watts' legs a stiff 'A' frame as she props herself up, bending forward at the waist, head popping up from uppercuts, body quivering from hard touches. Systematic attack being applied as Garth stays patient, plugging the gut, jerking in the uppercut to jug, hooking the side and back and constantly mauling her girl in heavy clinches. Watts looking glum, shopworn as she returns to her stool after back to back shutouts.

R8: Spirited first minute from Watts has Garth momentarily backpedalling, and Naomi gets reckless. Midway through, Garth reading Aussie right hands, slips inside to the left, brings her right foot forward and counters with a left cross out of the southpaw stance! Watts jolted a quarter turn to her left - classic Duran counter steals Naomi's momentum. Garth immediately consolidating with hooks to breadbasket and face as Aussie's composure breaks. Jenny stepping out to use her jab, just stamp-pressing it against Naomi's upperchest and face - Watts reeling, reacting late, going numb from the straight shocks. By the bell, Naomi's staring, eyes swelling, mouth open - Garth helps herself to a chunk of downunder backside with a hard smile.

R9: Jenny jabbing Naomi into compliance - Watts tilting midring, feet squared up, hands up - she's a long, pale target as Garth moves in. Jenny keeping it tight, bouncing hard fists off rigid ribs and taut belly meat, crippling Naomi but clearly not going for the knockout. Garth content to punish her girl, keep her wounded and dazed, but hardly going all out - it's just a good, professional beat down. Watts weak at the ropes, not clinching, just standing, covering and taking as Garth has her way.

R10: Jenny G closes the show - a masterful hard punching shutout 10th. Watts jabbed to the ropes then worked over - Garth so measured, doling out punishment like she's weighing it first. Getting her body on Naomi, Jenny works with compact hooks and uppercuts, scuffing and scraping away, landing hard whenever she wants - just seasoning Naomi up right. At the bell, big smile Jenny G - she leaves Watts wallowing in hurt - UD10 Jenny Garth.

After: Classic 'Welcome to the FCBA' 10-0 rout - one of Jenny's most thorough waxings of a game, fit, but woefully underpowered Aussie. Garth talks about her future in post fight: "You know, I've always been right here. I want the Eliza Dushku that fought Neve Campbell - I'd TORCH that Dushku. And Campbell! I can't believe the response she's getting for being able to soak up a beating. People forget the schoolings I gave that girl - I'd love to shine her up now that they think something's different. Dani Fishel - I'm not ducking her - I'd box her ears and she knows it. So it's the same old story - I'm here, and I'm too good for my own good."
