BEFORE: (Fight piped in from Germany) HISC supremely confident - splitting their forces to simultaneously attack two objectives: strategic no-no made possible by corporate logistics-support not available to most fighters in the field. "We maintain fighters in most western countries," says HISC cracker-plant tour guide, "so the support is there for Mish and Kris when they're jetting around. Mishy's got an apartment, assistants, sparring - everything she needs to get set up - it's really like she never left the States at all." Boxing-mad Germany anxious for the fight - their first celebrity match since Jennifer Lopez' ill-fated Bavarian adventure some years ago. "I'm excited for the opportunity," says model/actress Diane Kruger. "Germany has not been kind to American celebrities in the past: Michelle may find she has bitten off more bratwurst than she can swallow, as we say. I have been to America, and I have fought internationally in fashion circles: Michelle will not find the inexperienced boxing-virgin she expects. I will give her a hot reception - a very hot reception, indeed!"

Mish in zebra print bikini with twist tie top and sides; black gloves; messy blonde tousle. Kruger in white bandeau with gold attachments hip and jug - vaguely Roman feel to the gear; white gloves; blonde hair in long braid down her back. Diane taller than Mish, but slender - recalling the look of Holmes/Williams bouts of yesteryear. Fought at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin - huge temporary stands erected to accomodate the thousands of boxing-crazed Berliners. Cheese-eating Mish enraging fans with her ring-walk music: the "Lonely Goat" song from Sound of Music. BOOOOOO!

During R1,2,3: Michelle leaving her feet, swinging for Diane's head in traditional Katie-busting style: Kruger not having it. Diane rigid, stiff in her stance, calling to mind Felix Sturm - but it's effective: taller girl blocking shots with raised hands, poking back stiff jabs at Michelle's head. Kruger stepping forward, ramming her forearms into Mishy's shoulders, keeping the jab on her: German able to back American up and walk her down in spots. Mishy scowling, walking around: she's unhurt by any of this, but she's being denied, and therefore angered by Diane through 3.

R4: Mishy changes tack: crouching low, reaching the jab in under Diane's high guard to stamp at German guts. Mishy spends the first minute negotiating entrance: once she's comfortable with angle of attack, she's busier - swinging rights and lefts to the body, then scooting away. Kruger frowning, getting off only sporadic go-away jabs - nothing like the peppy spank Michelle's landing. Williams brisk-walking to either side, hopping in and out - she's dipping, twisting, pulling the punches onto Diane with ringing wallop.

R5: Michelle continues to attack the body - wide, swift rights and lefts bouncing off Diane's ribs and tummy. No adjustments from Kruger - hands up, weight on front (left) leg, stiff left jab the only offence. Michelle's weaving head movement and low angle of attack seeing her past Kruger's poke: Williams really hammering at pale midriff, but always scooting away to regroup after scoring. Bell: Kruger pulling deep breaths through her mouth, hands on hips en route to her corner.

R6: Williams crumpling Kruger to the body - gorgeous thumping right/lefts buckling blonde knees, sapping blonde will. Diane grimacing, trying to be plucky, but her jab's starting to wilt - poking out, then coming back low. Mishy reads it - slips a late jab, then stepping in with an overhand right counter: Kruger struck flush to left eye and BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Right knee gives way, dropping her awkwardly to all fours. Michelle preening - no reason to step across Diane's shuddering narrow back en route to neutral corner, but she does.

R7: Kruger Krumbling: German's been pretty stubborn to this point, but rapidly swelling left eye has her shying away from Mishy's thunder. Williams opening up - vicious body blows still pounding at Kruger's reserves, but German's ragged retreats allowing Mish to relaunch her free-swinging head attack. Williams pouncing from crouches - leaping forward into hooks, or leaning in to pull overhand rights onto Diane. Kruger wobbling around by the final minute, backing into ropes for support: Mishy's upon her. Williams grinning - twitching torso-right to swing hook-to-paunch; twitching torso-left to bounce the right off Kruger's pinking ribs. It's all too much: Diane gurgling in pain, cringing...she turns to her right, hands on her knees, mouth wide open as she leans into ropes. MISHY! Williams squares up on presented left flank, left forearm pushing atop Kruger's bony back while right hands plow on in. Michelle's breasts sloshing to-and-fro with the violence: Williams just jammin' it in righty, beating at Kruger's ribs without restraint. Weepy Diane eases herself to canvas, shuddering on all fours - Mishy crowing down, then strutting away hands in air as Kruger sits back on haunches, hugging battered ribcage. That's it: Krugester can't get off her knees - KO7 to the body, Michelle Williams.

After: Kruger still a cringing mess when Williams comes for her - stacking Diane up in her own corner for the triumphant mount. Mish pulling herself aloft - hips and rounded tummy pushing Diane's unhappy face to the right - Kruger's eyes closed, lips pursed in stunned resignation as her arms crook around Mishy's humming thighs. Williams blowing kisses to the crowd; putting both hands atop Kruger's head while peering out towards the gate; raising both hands in the air while leaning forward onto Diane - it's the corner-mounting of a lifetime for poor Kruger. Germany falls to Mish as HISC blazes across the continent like a bikini'd brush fire.
