Asked about rumors concerning a "private bout" between Troian Bellisario and Emma in which Mary Winstead played a dubious part in the posrfight, Laura Vandervoort tells Denise van Outen.

"I wasn't there, of course, but from what I heard Mary lost her nerve when Lisa Maffia showed up. She abandoned those foolish PLL girls. Maybe the three of them got what was coming to them, but that's no excuse for Mary leading them astray and showing her cowardly yellow streak by running off. I am ashamed of her. I hope she is at least ashamed of herself."

Mary Winstead tried to keep a low profile, but the BBU staff (that is to say Davina Daltrey) tracked her down to a tea room and later Denise confronted her outside.

Mary hung her head: "OK, I admit it. I panicked when I saw Lisa Maffia and the others. Suddenly I remembered her spanking me with my own belt. I would have gotten the other girls out of there, but Lyndsy was the only one close to me. So I grabbed her and dragged her out. I want one thing made clear: Lyndsy did not abandon her friends, she kept trying to get back to them, but the side door I pulled us through locked behind us and by the time she got around to the front it was all over. I know Lyndsy is very upset with reports she ran off and I want to take full blame for what happened. However, Laura should keep her big miouth shut. She isn't helping things one bit!"

Lyndsy Fonseca agreed: "I don't like this post fight stuff and I knew no good one come of it, but there is no way I would desert my teammates in a situation like that. I hope I can make it up to them somehow."

Asked to comment, Troian Bellisario said grimly: "I could see Lyndsy had to be dragged out. It's too bad we listened to Mary Winstead, but we did and we got the treatment we deserved. It's too bad that's overshadowed the fight, I thought Emma Rigby was very brave in that fight and she has my respect. I hope we've shown we PLL girls can take as well as we dish it out. Now we're going to concentrate on the next series of fights."

I hope the girls have learned their lesson, and that they will not be making any future little deals with their opponents to commit acts of humiliation - well, not in public, anyway.

I think those girls will find that Lyndsy (much as I hate her) emerges with more credt than they do, and will be taken more seriously as a result.
