Before: BSE the hottest stable in the land, Shak once the little darling of that outfit, now under some pressure to keep up with the meteoric rise of hard working Nat Portman. Ali Mack a strong-bodied little WB slugger who’s been horning in on Shakira’s pressure-fighter niche—something gotta give. “I know I won’t have to look for her,” says Allison of her hard charging opponent, “and that’s just fine with me.” Shakira in baby-blue and white check print, halter top bikini, tie-side bottoms, ponytail w/pretty blue ribbon—Mack in red sports bra, gray stretch cotton aerobics bottoms.

During R1: Strong little flyweights plant wide in front of each other, turn into compact, bashing licks and take turns lighting one another’s faces with cracking connects. Girls trade rights,, girls trade lefts—savage curling punches—blistering impacts in the face and punch for punch, Mack backs Shak up. On the ropes, Shakira a little shellshocked, digs in, grits her teeth and fights for her life—on the flesh punching to little chins and pretty faces—but Mack won’t be backed off. At the bell, hard punching has Shak sitting dazed in the ropes—ref hauling a snarling Allison away as she tries to heap on extra.

R2: Girls step-to brawny, turn into those banging right hands, torque and twist into comeback hooks—once again vicious face-spanking impacts have both women staggering, sucking it up. Mack relentless at Shak, punching with her, getting the best of her, driving her to the ropes. Hard right hands crashing against Shakira’s left eye, cheek—she’s bleeding from the nose, staring—SHAKIRA STOPS PUNCHING! Little Shakira stupid from punishment, sage to a seat in the ropes, facing into blows! Mack HEAPING it on—right hands over and over to the face, left hand clipping back under the chin or stabilizing Shak in the chest, holding her for monster abuse. NO! There’s too many rights—it’s too much—Shak out on her feet—helpless, defenceless—Mack bundled back by the red and IT’S OVER! TKO2 Allison Mack.

After: Shakira: trembling, bleeding from the nose, lightning bolt gash over her left eyebrow, staring in shocked defeat. Mack stuns the crowd not just with the stoppage over highly touted Colombian, but with the WAY it went down: toe to toe with Shakira, going right at her, trading punches, Little Latina not used to being bulldozed like that and the but of it won’t necessarily go away when the bruises heal. Mack on her way—that’s a huge win for her.
