Charlize Theron* vs. Dani Fishel (Maxim Lightweight title) by simguy 11-Mar-00

Two fan favorites slugging it out for lightweight supremacy. Charlize able to make the class limit, Dani in at the minimum - Fishel giving up extreme advantages in almost every physical category. Trumpeting her win over Luner - Fishel backers point out that Dani has overcome similar odds in the past, and late money makes her a respectable underdog come fight night. Dani in teal bikini top, grey stretch cotton shorts, Charlize in white string bikini.

Round 1: Dani charging Charlize at the hips, putting her forearms into Theron's waist and driving her backward. Theron eventually gets her legs under her, circling the little dynamo and controlling Dani with a licking jab. In the final minute, Fishel working hard to cut off the ring and get to Theron's body, gets caught a downward slashing right hand on the cheek and nearly driven to her knees. Good upper body movement by Dani while hurt - she bobs and weaves almost at Charlize' knees, avoiding Theron's finishing flurry at the bell.

Round 2: Dani already swelling, charges in once again to bundle the blonde to the ropes. Dani with her face between Theron's breasts, uses her hands to control Theron's hips as she jerks short lefts and rights into the bikini line to put a grimace on the big blonde's face. Charlize smothered, can only clinch around Dani's shoulders and try to minimize the damage as Fishel does a good job with her low center of gravity keeping Theron up against the ropes.

Round 3: Charlize up-tempoing, getting onto her toes and dancing around Dani, laying out the jab to keep Fishel under wraps. Dani mounting rushes, but paying the price, getting beaten back by cats-paw left hooks and sharp right hands that flick out from Charlize' hip. Midway through the round, Charlize cranks a nice short right hand onto Dani's teeth, leaving Fishel momentarily defenseless. Charlize follows up with snapping lefts and rights, hands held low and just swatting at Dani's face - FISHEL DRIVEN ONTO HER BACKSIDE takes eight as blood trickles from the corners of her mouth.

Rounds 4-5: Dani still competitive, but getting eaten alive by Charlize' jab. Theron having trouble hurting Dani as Fishel continues to dip well below the blonde's waistline, but Theron uses her reach and height to good advantage simply to steer her foe around the ring.

Round 6: Both girls getting work done - Fishel occasionally able to weave in underneath the jab, step into Charlize' body and scrub her abs until the blonde clinches for a break. Charlize starting to bend her knees more, trying to curl punches up into Dani's body or face, and in the final minute, she catches Fishel perfectly on the tip of the chin with a low right uppercut. Dani lifted off her feet, staggers back across the ring and DROPS ON HER BUTT at the ropes, eyes dazed, mouth open. Fishel beats the count, but she's hurt, starting to get tagged with money shots.

Round 7: Who fights hurt better than Dani? Fishel weaves in low, palms up on Charlize' waist, and digs in between the hips with barely legal lefts and rights as Charlize groans and clinches. Dani won't be held, shucking off Charlize' grasp and returning to the midsection with both fists furiously busy. Theron's butt touches ropes at the end of the round as she lays in, cheek on the top of Dani's head, holding on for dear life as Fishel gouges it out points at the bell.

Rounds 8-10: Both girls get things done down the stretch, but there's no denying the girl who starts and finishes the rounds the strongest is Charlize Theron. Working off the jab, Charlize punches when she wants to, rests when she wants, moves when she wants to. Dani fighting in spurts, does an heroic job defensively, keeping her head moving, and reducing Theron's connect percentage significantly in these rounds. Problem for Dani is the distance - she just can't get enough leather on the target and her corner grows more and more desperate as rounds grind on. Theron content to box for points, cruises to a wide unanimous decision as Dani is frustrated over the last 3 heats.

Girls hug and hold one anothers hands up after the decision. Despite a couple of trips to the canvas, Dani comes out of the fight in relatively good shape as most of Charlize' damage came in the form of single shot bombs - Theron simply unable to find her opponent for the extended beatings that might have produced a stoppage. Curious result leaves both girls disappointed in some respects, but Theron with a lightweight diadem can get over it.
