This fight could set the tone for the night – neither girl has won in this series, and Lucy has already been stopped by Frankie’s bandmate, Vanessa White. Frankie has been knocked out in both of her contests.

Lucy is confident pre-fight, “Frankie is weak – I will get this job done!” she predicts, while Frankie counters, “I got two tough girls to start, but I know I can beat Lucy Hale!”

Round 1

Lucy’s confidence deserts her as the fight starts, with Frankie the quicker of girls to get into her stride, clipping her jab neatly past Lucy’s defensive gloves, smacking them pretty regularly into her face, reddening her cheeks quite nicely early on. Lucy is backing off, her feet in reverse gear throughout the round, limiting herself to a few selective punches to Frankie’s slim body as and when the singer gets too close.

Frankie takes the round

Round 2

Frankie carries on as before, using her foot speed and hand speed to clip Lucy’s face, with the She Devil seeming content to bide her time, letting the singer come on to her, now beginning to block the girl’s attacks better, and as the round wears on she begins to close Frankie down better, smacking a couple of good hooks over the singer’s guard, the Brit beginning to slow down by the bell.

Frankie again, but only just.

Round 3

Still on her toes, Frankie jabs Lucy’s face neatly in the early seconds, but Lucy takes those punches, shrugging them off to land her own, firmer, more damaging blows, her right hand beginning to bother Frankie, the singer seemingly unable to stop the actress from landing, and she isn’t moving too much in the second half of the round, especially after Lucy traps her to the ropes and cracks two, three good punches into her face – in fact, she’s looking a bit wobbly and dispirited by the bell.

Lucy gets a round back, and Frankie is hurt

Round 4

Lucy makes a good start to the fourth, her right glove now pounding into Frankie’s face, and the singer’s knees begin to buckle as she gets caught with a good one to her jaw, which Lucy follows up with two solid blows to the Brit’s body, setting her back against the ropes, then cuffing her face again with that right, and Frankie goes down, stunned and weeping on the canvas as the ref counts her to 7. The singer is up, trying to stem the flow of punches by holding onto Lucy, who pushes her back, and hurts her again to the body before the end of the round.

Another one to Lucy, who noses in front with the knockdown

Round 5

A sad looking Frankie drafts across the ring this time, and she soon finds herself being punched again, Lucy’s right hand hurting her and damaging her left cheek, until she can take no more, drops to her knees, is counted out, then rolls over, sobbing.

Lucy Hale knocked Frankie Sandford out in round 5, to open the scoring at 1 – 0 to the She Devils.

This is a huge win for Dani’s girls – the Brits were expecting to win this one, and really will need to fight well to win tonight’s deciding match.

Lucy is jumping for joy in the ring, “I got one! I got one!” Frankie is a wreck, unable to speak, knowing her team-mates were relying on her.
