Intro:
Second bout tonight sees Gemma Atkinson (0-4) try to get her first win in this years Diamond Boxing tournament, she takes on Kate Bock (1-3) who got her first win in the field by beating Lais Ribeiro, here in The KIA Forum only one can move up the rankings while the other stays battling to stay off bottom spot.

As usual the fighters shared their feelings on camera in the video room before the contest, Gemma heading into the room wearing a white vest with blue jeans and black sandals, she sits down taking a breath, before saying "I've certainly been through the ringer so far" looking at her fists for a moment, maybe thinking about all the hard fights she has had as she very well might have had the hardest schedule of all the fighters in the tournament, taking on the current top four of the field.

"Now as I look ahead things should get easier, I've given all the best fighters in the tournament a headache, not one of them beat me easily, so while I hate losing to my core, I can still hold my head high, now the work begins on finishing this event strong, that means beating you first Kate, honestly you don't scare me one bit" standing up, Gemma glares at the camera as if facing her opponent, motivated not to finish this tournament right down the rankings, instead she wants to be one of the best.

Kate meanwhile headed into the room wearing a maroon dress, showing her impressive legs off as she sits down, smiling as she says "I am so relieved to be on the scoreboard, Lais is a joke of course so it wasn't much a workout to do it, still I needed that to get out of the hole I was digging" Bock admitting her frustrations before last months win.

Grinning she continues "now I have Gemma, who admittedly has a little of my respect being a former champion, fact is how many years ago was that, it feels like so long ago should people even talk about it? Fact is you are under me in the rankings and I will bury you in the ring, you and Lais can fight for last spot" winking at the camera, then she stands up to leave with a little swagger to her step, her confidence clearly renewed.

Fight night, first through the curtain onto the stage comes Gemma with her coach Denise Lewis, Gemma takes a quick breath to cool any nerves before her walk to the ring, holding her red gloves together as she walks, eyes shut for a moment as she gets to the ring steps, psyching herself up for this clash, soon enough she is in the ring wearing a blue sports bra with red trim, matching trunks and boots, hair is braided as she shadow boxes.

Here comes Kate down the aisle, she is wearing a white sports bra with red trim, matching trunks and shoes, red gloves herself, her hair is in a ponytail as she jogs down the aisle, looking keen to get this fight started as her coach follows behind her, getting into the ring with a confident expression, Kate stretches her arms as she stares right at her opponent.

The referee brings the fighters to the middle of the ring, where they exchange a hard stare, shaking their arms to keep them loose as their coaches massage their shoulders, they do respectfully touch gloves before returning to their corners, the bell ringing to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Coming out their corners circling early on as both decide to feel each other out, Gemma the first to try to push the intensity up with a left cross that finds air, Kate missing herself with a right cross of her own as both show good reflexes, though it's not the most exciting thing to watch to kick off the fights.

Things do pick up though as Gemma feints with her jab, dipping under a left cross to thud in a left/right hook combo to the body, Gemma showing her power and experience to force back Kate near the ropes, landing away to the body of the Canadian as she looks to take out the legs of her opponent.

Kate nudges back Gemma, landing a few crisp punches to make her fellow blonde beauty think about how to tackle her, a jab is knocked aside by Atkinson as she rifles one of her own into the lips of Bock, who soon finds herself muscled back onto the ropes, Gemma thudding in well drilled body shots, the round ends with Gemma jogging back to her corner looking relaxed, Kate shaking her head, not happy with herself for starting so slowly.

Round 2:
Back out now trading more punches, Kate leans out the way of a right cross to thud in a straight into the face of Gemma, Kate starting to get her punches going, Gemma forced back to the outside now as Kate holds the center, outworking the older fighter in their exchanges.

Gemma is able to land a straight into the top of Kate's head, slowing her down enough so she can close the gap between them, working on the inside as she works the body of Kate, getting pushed back by Bock, Gemma takes two left cross punches across her face to back her off.

Both nearly clash heads as Gemma tries to get back inside the reach of her opponent, they push apart with Kate rifling in a double jab to the top of her opponent's head, forcing Gemma to retreat back as Kate now seems dialed in, at the end of the round Kate can be seen mouthing yes as she returns to her corner, Gemma nodding knowing it wouldn't be that easy to win this fight.

Round 3:
Stepping around the center of the ring trading flurries of punches, both fighters are trying to keep the range where they want it, Kate starting off the stronger as she is landing more flush punches, up on her toes marking up the cheeks of Gemma as they box, Gemma realising she can't match hand speed with Kate as she scowls at her.

Calling on her experience, Gemma dips under a straight to ram in a right to the solar plexus of her opponent, then lands a chopping left cross to the cheek of Kate turn her head, Kate finding herself driven into a neutral corner, body being worked over by Gemma till she can clinch up, Gemma using her left forearm to push back the chin of Bock till they are broken up.

Kate finding herself needing to hold off Gemma, who is wanting to make this a brawl, using her power to bully back the model, Kate holding on more with Gemma, looking to slow her down, both looking fired up as they push apart, eyes locked as they land through the others mitts to their faces in a heated exchange before the bell rings, jogging back to their corners tapping their gloves together as they sit on their stools.

Round 4:
Determination written on both their faces as they exchange to start off the round, Kate stepping back to create space, boxing off the back foot as she wants to keep Gemma off her, Gemma starting to throw more punches aimed at the body of Kate to try to slow her down so she can land over the top.

Instead as Gemma swings in a left hook, it misses and Kate punishes her with a right onto her chin to turn her head, Kate pounding back Gemma with three straight punches, Gemma needing to hold on now to her, there's a little grappling between the fighters as Gemma tries to turn them around the referee prying them apart.

Gemma needing to box now off the back foot, finding herself pressed back as Kate is starting to motor now, with Gemma getting caught through her guard, head being knocked back when Kate lands flush, the round ends with Kate jogging back to her corner looking pleased with herself for a solid round, Gemma meanwhile shaking her head as she jogs back to her corner, looking pissed off with herself.

Round 5:
Gemma doesn't seem to be able to hold off Kate now, with Kate's punches landing through the guard of Gemma to snap back her head, GEMMA MISSES WITH A RIGHT CROSS, TAKING A LEFT HOOK AROUND HER TEMPLE, THAT WOBBLES GEMMA'S LEGS BEFORE A RIGHT HOOK ON HER EAR SENDS ATKINSON DOWN TO HER SIDE!

Jogging to the neutral corner, Kate bounces on her toes as she looks at Gemma, 1...2...3... Gemma turning to all fours, 4...5... She tries to push to her feet, 6...7...8.. But her legs are rubbery, ending up rolling back to her left side! 9...10 that's it! Gemma is counted out!

Winner Kate Bock KO Round 5

After:
That's win number two for Kate in this tournament, suddenly she is making a late charge up the rankings, Kate screams "yes!" As she raises her arms in the air, looking to the heavens looking happy to say the least that she is starting to get wins back to back now.

Heading back to her corner, Kate is given a hug by her coach, who tells her how good a job she is doing, Kate thanking them for their support, taking her gloves off and smiling as she looks at them, feeling the confidence flowing through her.

Gemma on the opposite side of this equation needs helping to her stool, this was arguably one of the easiest fights in the field for her, so to lose again certainly hasn't helped her confidence, Denise not saying a word, instead just taking her gloves off and washing down Gemma as she scowls, upset by the former champions performance.

When the result is announced with Kate getting her right arm raised, Gemma shakes her head as she watches from her stool, not believing that she lost this fight, she leaves the ring with Denise beside her, it is looking more and more likely that the fight between Gemma and Lais Ribeiro will be a battle not to finish last in the tournament rankings.

In the ring Kate blows kisses to the cameras, then steps out the ring to hug a few friends of hers at ringside, Kate has her mojo back it seems after a rough period to start this tournament, she walks to the back with coach following behind, Kate still has Karlie Kloss and Charlotte McKinney to face, so it doesn't exactly get easier for her going into the final two rounds of this tournament.
