Before: No good deed goes unpunished, no sooner does Shue lay a beating on Lucy Liu than she is face to face with stablemate Jewel Kilcher hellbent on payback. Shue the classier fighter with the quicker hands and feet, but Jewel a great power punching blonde and an improving ability to get over--should be an interesting set. Liz looking for her first back to back victory in almost 2 years wears black one piece armless gymnastics leotard, Jewel in royal blue 2 piece gymnastics gear.

During 1-4: bruising exhibition of smash mouth boxing put on by Jewel as she marches out and doles out round after round of one-sided abuse to a flustered and surprised Elisabeth Shue. Shue smeared all along the ring ropes, lays in with Jewel and is muscled into one beat down session after another. Kilcher calmly prying Shue’s arms away, wrestling inside, then plowing hooks and right hands to the body. Liz’s only offense the odd solitary chopping right on the jaw or swiping left across the gut--but always promptly and decisively answered by booming body shots from Kilcher in return.

R5: Shue turns the fight around with brisk counter punching off the ropes, using Jewel’s forward lean against her. Swiping left across Jewel’s solid gut, Shue snaps the left uppercut into Kilcher’s chin, and the cushy blonde goes blank. Shue able to step in, crank left hooks, beats Jewel throwing her own hook, and the singer corkscrews herself into the mat as Liz steps past. Kilcher up at 8, bur not the same fighter, goes on to sustain a withering beating to her stomach and head as Shue pours on lights-out pressure to the bell.

R6: Liz Shue has a hurt fighter in front of her, and she bears down to finish. Smacking, loud shots seem to have Kilcher wilting, but midway through the round, she twists into a murderous left hook and SHUE takes a seat! Now liz scrapes it up, wobbling against the ropes as jewel plows in, and Liz with her guard high, rolls and spins against the ropes, luring Jewel into devastating counter uppercuts from either hand that have Kilcher wobbly-butt at the bell. Both girls stagger slack-jawed to their corners this round.

R7: Shue unveiling a forgotten nweapon: the jab, pounding it hard into Jewel’s face as Kilcher barrels in, then bending low into shoulder Jewel back outside. Shue able to chip away at Jewel this round, picking her up with the jab or uppercut on the way in, then tagging her on the way out with the straight right hand. Kilcher beaten up this round, looks a punchy at the bell.

R8: Strong men blanch bas two blondes stand at center ring and pound away at one another’s midsections with sweaty intensity this round. Just smacking tit for tat action as each uses a forearm or shoulder to touch the other briefly before pounding in the bloow, then covering up to take her medicine in return. Not good strategy from Shue as jewel’s heavier hands begun to wear towards the end.

R9: Liz Shue stepping up the tempo, leaves Jewel behind this round as she puts her punches together, steps in and out and bangs out a clear advantage over the poet. Jewel crossing her arms, lays in as Shue gets off 3 and 4 Holyfeld-type swings in a row, then stalks after as Shue circles. Jewel landing only sporadically, gives away the 9th.

R10: Liz Shue not wanting to go quietly, guts out an amazing effort late in the fight, beating Jewel into a stupor throughout most of this round. Pounding one-twos to the gut, Liz busts up Jewel’s guard and rings brutal uppercuts off Jewel’s teeth in tough, mouth ion shoulder slogging action. Jewel won’t take a backward step, and in the final minute, Shue is arm-weary: Kilcher takes over, An exhausted Jewel Kilcher pounds away with wide lefts and rights, even connecting with the side of her fist on Shue’s forehead to send a tremor through the gymnast’s sturdy legs. Bell sounds as both girls continue mindlessly clubbing away, prompting referee intervention. Decision comes back in favor of Jewel Kilcher, who breaks down with tears of relief in victory.

After: Strong surge over the last half of the fight for Shue, but she gave away too much early on to overcome. Punishing brawl leaves both women spent at the end, and Shue reportedly upset at the decision.
