Before:  Outdoor ring at Venice Beach is the site for this controversial bout. Anderson not considered championship material, but the big name makes her a cash cow for fighting champs like Charisma, and Carpenter has some justification for wanting a gimme fight after life and death struggles over the past few months. Pundits quick to point out that Anderson nearly stunned Kiana Tom several years ago when Pam was cynically written off in exactly the same way—and people forget it was Pam who taught a young Gena Lee Nolin how to mix it up. Pam in neon blue one piece, curly hair up, Charisma in bright red one beach volley ball bikini, ponytail.

During R1: Charisma takes her eye off the ball as Pam goads her into a breast slugging match, and both girls get after one another’s jugs with biting hooks at close range. Anderson used the tactic to make Kiana forget her fight plan and it works again here as Charisma is all about pay back early. Late in the round, it is Anderson doing all the scoring, looping the right hand wide to Charisma’s jaw at the bell.

R2: Carpenter a little reticent to trade, slips and dances early, but midway through the round, Pam catches her with the swinging right hand stroke along the jaw, and Anderson gets busy. Charisma standing straight up, hands at her chest as Pam feints bra, goes chin with wide swinging lefts an rights, Carpenter soaking up the shots in good shape, but Pam doing all the scoring to take the early lead Pam with a little late action, banging away upstairs as Charisma relaxes after the bell.

R3: Carpenter gets an ear full in her corner and comes out looking for Pam’s body, Charisma with her hands in tight to her body, bends at the waist to snap off brutal short hooks to Anderson’s waist, folding her blonde up and stiffening her legs. Charisma stepping to the right, throws the wide right round punch, often scorching Pam’s kidneys from the oblique angle, while turning her shoulder into short left hands in between Anderson’s elbow. Savage body shots have Anderson’s hair undone as she pivots, taking punishment from bell to bell.

R4: Carpenter staying on Pam’s midsection, as the girls go shoulder to shoulder, The free swinging Anderson has been replaced by a hurting, cringing, frail looking blonde as Carpenter welts away at the sides and tummy with both hands. Charisma keeping her form, punching out of a tight guard, and bringing her hands back after digging at Pam to protect against those wild right hands.

R5: Pam gets Charisma’s attention early with a right elbow on the lips, then takes over with a truly inspired series of fouls. Dragging the left well south of the border, Pam sets up the looping overhand right, bashing Charisma’s beautiful face to the side time and again as the brunette protects low.

R6: Pam continuing to feast on Charisma with elbows, drives the brunette back to the ropes, holds her with the left and drags a wide right hand low, then pushes and punches as Carpenter groans on the ropes. Anderson with the wide right hands, pounds away at Charisma’s chest and chin as the brunette’s form abandons her. Carpenter no so hurt as outraged and momentarily unfocused, soaks up the beating and complains bitterly to the ref at the break.

R7: Charisma forces Pam to fight at center ring, dipping her shoulder and coming up at the blonde’s midsection with rising lefts and rights to slow Pam down. Anderson on her heels, gamely slugs back, golden coils obscuring her face, breasts heaving madly as she forgets everything she ever knew about boxing form to flail away from side to side. Carpenter in charge now, able to time Pam’s wide swings, step in and out and spank back the blonde’s head with stiff left jabs to the bell. Pam a little woozy going back to her corner, knows she fell apart in that round.

R8: Carpenter stepping left, drilling the jab early to bang back Pam’s head and discourage the blonde from the outset. Charisma quickly reversing field, steps right and snaps the short left hook off Pam’s cheek and Anderson is hurt! Charisma now into a gurgling crouch. With Pam doubled over, clutching her body, Carpenter rips the short left hook—all shoulder and Anderson drops to all fours. Pam on her knees, can’t beat the count and Charisma Carpenter retains the belt via KO8.

After: Anderson always dangerous when disrespected, and Charisma had some anxious moments before finding the sweet spot on Pam. Carpenter not gracious in victory, choosing to denigrate Pam’s effort and calling it an “easy fight—just what I was looking for”. Anderson outclassed, but ahead on points after 6 with an effective combination of gamesmanship, cheap shots and right hand slugging.
