Before: Seems a mismatch on paper: Bilson a hyper-aggressive little mauler with a scrappy past; Breckenridge just now dipping her toe in fighting waters--pundits questioning Laura’s long-term commitment to celebrity brawling. “Look nobody at the WB can afford to dismiss what competing can do for your career,” Laura shrugs, “I’d be fool not to explore this. If Beverly Mitchell can stand in with these girls, I’m sure I can too.”

Bilson a completely different proposition: fighting comes first with her--rewards, if any, a distant second. “Personally, I can’t believe they’re paying me for this,” Bilson chirps in preflight. “Laura’s the kind of girl you beat up at the mall, you know. I’m totally going to plow into her.”

During R1: Laura robotic, stiff, awkward--she hangs a jab out over Rachel’s left shoulder: Bilson crouches in under and labels sternum right/left. Breckenridge grimacing early, pushing out that jab like she wants to brush her knuckles down across Rachel’s face--Bilson ignoring the nuisance and belting back raucous rights and lefts. Breckenridge getting walloped upside the head--she’ll turn away, stagger-stumble a few steps, try to rally as Bilson wades in. Rachel’s winging haymakers drive Breckenridge panicky to ropes--latter half the round simply Bilson pinning ears back, letting hands go as Laura cover up face-in gloves, Bell: Rachel lifting her mitts and stomping back to her corner hooting: Laura moist-eyed, trembling--welcome to the FCBA beat down for Brecks in the first.

R2: Laura with that ugly, pushy jab getting into all sorts of trouble--she hangs it out there and gets all dug up in her tummy. Bilson stepping in, chugging, then looking to step-with as Brecks totters straight back, hoping to label Laura swinging heat to the head. Breckenridge hitting ropes, covering up face-in-gloves--Rachel able to square away, commit every ounce of that tiny frame to the task of beating Breckenridge senseless--scouring punches bounce off skull, shoulders, ribs as Laura sits in the ropes to soak. Rachel wasting a lot of shots up top, but switches at the midway point to plow blows into Breckenridge’s pale tummy. Gurgling Laura forced to take a knee, ashen-faced--Bilson busting an impromptu pelvic-thrust dance on the spot to celebrate the occasion. Laura plucky, beating the count with tear-stained cheeks: she’s getting worked over healthy through 2.

R3: More Bilson splashing herself on Laura at will--Rachel just too vicious, too aggressive for Breckenridge to handle at this point. Brecks turning her face away from swinging Bilson right hands--Laura pathetic as she backs away, allowing Rachel to mount a robust walking barrage. Just a shooting gallery--Bilson swinging herself off balance at times as she loads up and hurls at rope-bound Breckenridge: poor Laura just covering up, sliding to her right and praying for a miracle. Bilson falling in off wild punches, pushing Laura to reset--Brecks not even clinching when these opportunities arise. One girl stiff, stationary, covered up and paralyzed: the other vibrant, limbs in constant motion, weight shifting from one foot tot the other, hips twisting sexy into licking blows, It’s all too much--Laura drubbed to hands and knees, panting, battered: Bilson hooting down at her, stamping her foot with disappointment--Rachel wants more Laura., makes it to her stool and bursts into tears--she’s shaking her head, blubbering, pleading with her corner to stop the fight: TKO3 via submission Rachel Bilson.

After: Rachel crowing, climbing the ring ropes, carrying on like she’s just waxed King Kong--sheer exuberance of Bilson too much for Laura tonight. Breckenridge broken down mentally as well as physically--whatever sparring she had clearly didn’t prepare her for the kind of all-out intensity Rachel Bilson can bring to her punching.
