Anna Kendrick: 35 years old, 5’2”, 20-25 since 2013, free agent

Katherine McNamara: 25 years old, 5’4”, 13-7 since 2017, Fates Boxing

Before:

Boxing action starts off with flyweight actresses as Fates’ Katherine McNamara takes on Anna Kendrick. Both girls compliment their foe before the fight.

“Hey, Kat’s done an amazing job, and has become one of the brightest young stars of the flyweight division.” Anna tells the press. “I’m looking forward to fighting her. She’ll be a tough opponent, but I’m looking forward to getting a win.”

“Well, thanks Anna,” Kat says, “It’s always great to fight a current or former champion. I’m ready to go, is she?”

The veteran Kendrick is the first girl announced for the fight, and the brunette actress makes her way to the ring before removing her robe to reveal a purple sport bra with black trunks and black gloves. The brunette paces around the ring as her redheaded foe is announced. McNamara quickly strides to the ring, the younger actress wearing a white sports bra and orange trunks with white gloves. The two fighters touch gloves and the bell rings, signaling ten rounds of flyweight action.

Round 1:

McNamara and Kendrick both get out of their corners quickly, with each girl looking to stick to her gameplan. Katherine puts her extra reach to use by jabbing at the shorter Anna, while the smaller girl looks to strike on the counter. Kat lets a right jab loose that barely misses Anna’s head, and the brunette respond with a left into the redhead’s ribs. Kendrick follows up with a right into McNamara’s chest, just below her guard, but the younger actress fires back with a right that catches the brunette just below her eye and sends Kendrick staggering backwards! Kat pounces as Anna protects her head, and the younger actress buries two big blows right into Anna’s midriff, pounding the air out of the older girl’s lungs. Anna works backwards, stubbornly refusing to get into the ropes as Katherine works her around the ring. The bell dings, bringing an end to the first, with the young McNamara coming out on top on points in the first.

Round 2:

The second round begins with Kat again charging quickly, driving a left out at Anna but taking a hard right to her mouth, opening her upper lip! Kendrick is the first girl to draw blood and she goes right after McNamara’s head for a follow-up, hammering a left into the redhead’s guard that knocks Kat backwards. Katherine keeping her guard up but giving up ground as Anna shows off her speed, drilling shots into the younger actress’ body as McNamara struggles to hold off Kendrick. Anna feints left, but Kat reads her like a book and catches Anna just below her eye with a right. Kendrick blocks a follow up and works in a short bodyshot before backing away, not wanting to get into a slugging contest with the bigger and younger girl. The two slowly circle each other, occasionally throwing jabs before the round ends. Anna evens everything up after two rounds.

Round 3:

Kat still brashly charges at Anna, who sends out a left jab at the redhead’s face, but Kat knows it’s coming, ducking the blow and striking the brunette squarely in her chest. Kendrick stands her ground and hammers McNamara back with a body shot of her own, stopping the younger actress from making any further headway. Both actresses start circling each other, and while they are both getting solid shots in on the other girl’s body, Kat starts working Anna backwards. The smaller actress realizes that she’s running out of room before she gets knocked into the ropes and darts to her left, getting away from the ropes and allowing her to clip Kat’s side as she makes her exit. McNamara Keeps her cool and resets, slowly regaining the upper hand in trades but Kendrick skillfully avoids any efforts by Kat to corner her before the bell signals the end of the round. Kat takes the third on points, close.

Round 4:

Kendrick and McNamara start circling to start the fourth, with the two girls trading fairly evenly. Anna drops back to avoid a hard right from Kat and pops the redhead in her chin. McNamara instinctively unleashes a left in response, but she misses Kendrick and the brunette connects with a left into her mouth, drawing blood. Kat drops back as Anna advances, the brunette shooting out jabs at the redhead. Anna connects with a jab to Kat’s ribs, but gets smacked by a left from the younger actress and backs off. The circling resumes and Anna strikes out again with a right, this time connecting with Kat’s shoulder before McNamara buries leather into Kendrick’s midriff and Anna lets out an involuntary shout as the blow finds her solar plexus. Kendrick backs off with her guard up, deflecting a right at her head from McNamara, but not the follow up into her body that doubles her over! The bell rings to save Anna from any further punishment, and while she narrowly wins the round on points, Katherine may have been able to do her damage.

Round 5:

Kat bounces out of her corner while Anna’s slowed down, the brunette wincing with each step she takes. McNamara notices and targets the smaller actress’ body, working rights and lefts into Kendrick’s ribs. Anna protects her torso and gives up her ribs, looking for opportunities to counter. McNamara’s guard stops Kendrick’s blows and the redhead crushes a right into Anna’s solar plexus and Kendrick nearly doubles over again, but she’s stopped from being able to as Kat connects with an uppercut to the brunette’s jaw and down goes Anna. The older actress hits the canvas, her limbs moving around weakly as the referee starts to count over her. Kendrick lifts her head off the canvas an inch at the count of five before her head crashes back to the canvas, her arms and legs weakly moving about as the ref hits ten and calls fight. Your winner by KO5, Katherine McNamara!

After:

McNamara raises her arms and dances around the ring, celebrating her victory over the former champion. Kendrick is eventually brought about and raised to her stool, at which point Kat goes over to embrace the battered brunette. The two briefly exchange some pleasantries, with Kendrick even saying something that makes McNamara laugh. The redhead takes the brunette’s hand and raises it up to the crowd as the defeated actress stands, and the crowd applauds the sportsmanship and Kendrick’s effort before the two girls go their separate ways.

“Anna’s a great fighter, she really is,” Katherine tells the press. “It’s just a shame she doesn’t have a stable to help her out. As for me,” the redhead pauses, “well, I’ll just be on to the next girl I’m fighting, whoever she is.”
