Before: Nichols shaking off the shock of Ledoyen, looking to even the score against fearsome slugger Laura P. looking a little gaunt—agreeing to lightweight to get this fight sanctioned—but she’s the bigger, stronger beauty in the tilt. Nichols nervous during ring instructions—not helping that the entire Fighting Academy bench is razzing her in pull voice—Ultimate girls being pumped up by a still-glowing Sarah Michelle Gellar. Prepon in blonde ponytail, royal blue cotton tank top and panties, white gloves. Rachel in pale peach cotton tank top and panties, white gloves, long blonde ponytail.

During R1: Prepon flat footed, dukes up—Rachel jumps in swinging! Nichols screeching as she whales away—trudging into Laura lefts and rights. Prepon lifting her guard, blocking a lot of this—she backs up on her heels, more perplexed than hurt. Rachel disengaging after small success—she steps awkwardly to her right away from Laura’s booming right. Rachel obviously not comfortable creeping counterclockwise, but it’s the right thing to do—Laura stalking, but rarely pulling the trigger as Rachel’s always off at an angle. Nichols mounting several gangly, scrambling rushes at Laura—never hurting Prepon, but bumping away on big girl’s face and chest. Several times, Prepon is hounded to ropes, looking irritated as Rachel pushes scrubbing lefts and rights home for pesky points.

R2: Nichols still very energetic—eyes bulging wide, teeth bared—lots of wasted movement as she jumps back and walks to her right—but the awkwardness is working for her, Prepon too patient—just walking Rachel down, but not really getting after her—it’s Nichols jumping in to initiate the exchanges, scrubbing and swishing away at Laura’s face. Prepon forced upright and backwards---she’s not hurt by Rachel’s work, but the flurries ARE scoring with bumping/glancing contact up top. Late the round—girls tangled up in the ropes: Nichols works hard to plug away left hands to Laura’s gut; Prepon’s just soaking, arms loosely wrapped around Rachel’s head/upperback.

R3: Complacent Laura still trudging around, looking to set Rachel up for one sure KO right hand. Nichols scoring./loping/hopping around—ponytail swishing side to side as she operates. Rachel bravely pouncing at Prepon—swiping and scrubbing away—Prepon scowling as she backs up, just waiting for the rain to stop. Rache complimenting the sporadic flurries with a pinging jab—scoring soundly to tummy, jug and face—systematically jotting away for more points in the third.

R4: Rachel again—she’s doing it with chutzpah, with awkwardness, with some savvy, a little counterclockwise footwork, a pedestrian jab and a constant work ethic. Prepon very uptight, very rigid—corner shrieking at her to jab—but she basically following Rachel around, then covering up whenever Nichols jumps in. Rachel buffeting Prepon’s face; batting at the flanks and breasts, and jabbing—it all looks sloppy and ill-conceived, but it’s all conspiring to keep Prepon off her game. Laura not completely shutout—she’s landing right hands against Rachel’s left shoulder, and a Prepon hook thumps against Nichols ribcage at one point—but it’s the fourth straight round for pesky Rache.

R5: More of it, Rachel’s ponytail tossing, Rachel’s legs springy, Rachel’s panties and top jumping with excitement as she works the ring. Prepon’s ponytail hanging straight down, no movement in her top as she steps to spots, sets her feet and doesn’t do anything. Nichols best punch probably a pinging, stinging jab to Laura’s breasts—pushing them flat with muffled, cottony thump—rest of Rache’s “power” punching tends to be rushed and slappy, rarely connecting with full leverage. Still—Nichols is scrounging for points,, working hard, making the fight: Prepon’s just posing, stalking, walking her girl down as though KO’s happen by themselves.

R6: Laura jabs three times to open the round: punching back Rachel’s face; punching her upper chest hard twice, shunting Nichols out of her stance. Rachel scooting/loping to her right, clearly concerned—she hasn’t taken much out of Laura, despite dominating on the cards. Prepon hopping forward, but again, it’s Nichols initiating—either beating Laura to the jab, or jumping at her with winging flurries. When Rachel’s finished scrubbing, she either scrambles away—chest heaving—or she reaches around Laura’s waist to tie up for the break. Laura’s corner screaming at her to slug out of the clinch, but she’s allowing Rachel to glom on, run the clock.

R7: RACHEL POUNCES! Laura stares into a right hand—stares into another—topples sideways to ropes with a stupefied expression: she just can’t believe Nichols is chin-checking her. RACHEL NICHOLS UNLEASHED! Ponytail dancing, slender body tense with exertion, feet spread wide—oh, she’s PASTING big Laura—right hands, left hands,. Right hands, left hands. Laura bleak, stunned, hands low—she’s facing into blows—and HOW! Every punch landing lusty as Rachel finally harnesses her long lines, stroking away with stunning leverage. Prepon sliding to her right in a fog—skidding along ropes: she hits neutral corner, right hand at her chest, left in her lap. Nichols cheeks rosy, eyes blazing—she POUNDS in a right hand to face, resets herself with a left stabilizing Laura in the chest, then leans into ANOTHER drifting right, Hips pop right—weight shifts t left foot as Rache leans into another plowing right. STOP THE FIGHT REF! STOP THE FIGHT! Big Laura a-swoon, body limp, hung up on the turnbuckles—strong legs holding her up, but she’s taking a face-pasting of a lifetime and REF STEPS IN! Good Lord—TKO7 Rachel Nichols!

After: Prepon dazed, upright as ref cradles her to ropes—emaciated blonde clearly dropped weight WAY too fast for this contest—absolutely lethargic as young whippet Rachel has her way. Nichols breaking down into ecstatic tears, falling to her knees, gloves on her head—even she never dreamed she’s punch Laura Prepon into a quitting stupor tonight. TU girls roar t their feet, flooding the ring—many of them fronting up on the Fighting Academy ringside bench and tainting viciously: Rachel Nichols answers for Virginie Ledoyen—and answers—with VIGOUR!
