BEFORE: Huge style contrast: flat-footed, Marciano-like Cerra vs floating bee-stinger Union. "I'll fit her for punches," Gabrielle shrugs when asked how she'll handle the wrecking ball. "She's a big dumb ox in the ring - I'll put a ring in her nose and lead her around all night. Too fast, baby: that's the whole story!" Cerra non-plussed - olive-skinned beauty anxious to unleash her power on cocky Gabrielle. "She can run all she wants: sooner or later she'll taste my cooking. She's got nothing that can hurt me, and she's not built to handle my thunder, so do the math. I'm walking her down, beating her up: simple!" Baby blue cotton tank and panties, Union: white gloves; hair in slick low ponytail. White tank top and panties, Cerra: white gloves; hair in slick ear-level ponytail.

During R1: Union: limber; sliding back before Erica; touching E the jab, then sliding in the right while fading towards ropes. Cerra: gloves pressed into hollows of cheeks; weaving side to side as she walks Union down. When Gabby hits ropes, she shows earmuffs: Cerra steps-to, bangs flanks/arms until Union spins clear. That's the way of it - Gabby retreating, pinging away on Cerra's guard; Erica staying compact until she's got Union ropebound, then releasing. Good banging first, Erica C.

R2: Union limber - left at hip, right at chin, weight forward as she slides backward, dragging that lead (left) foot. Gabby doing a better job of turning at the ropes - stepping out and walking away to make Erica follow. Meanwhile - Union's potshotting Cerra on the way in. Dangling Union left lifting up-jabs, or swatting hooks body/head; penetrative lead right hands bounce off Erica's pate. Cerra wading forward, but always a beat too slow: she eats punches; fails to cut off the ring as Union tip-tap-clips away for points.

R3: Union in the same posture (weight forward, but sliding back, then turning at the ropes) - luring Cerra forward. Gabby mixing in artful feints - freezing E in earmuff, then victimizing her. Union cranking a thick left uppercut to Erica's breadbasket off feints; easing to back (right) foot to pull hooks across E's front; startling E with unpredictable lead rights straight up the middle. Net result: two flash knockdowns...Cerra unhurt, but visibly disheartened as slick, swift punching does the job for Gabby. Union beaming, snarky at the bell, helping herself to a chunk of Cerra's backside via clapping right hand spank at the break.

R4: Union pursing her lips, making faces at Cerra, taunting her. Gabby elusive - constantly fading Erica's up-the-middle attack, then neatly sidestepping her at ropes - often with a push behind either Cerra elbow on the turn. Twitchy-quick lead rights bouncing off Cerra's pretty face, lumping her up; pesky backhand up-jab keeping Erica outside; dip-n'-dig left uppercuts taxing Cerra's stout midsection whenever she's leaning forward behind gloves. Erica clubbing and bashing at Union's arms in spots, but unable to sustain pounding operations. Gabby's class trumps Cerra's power to take big lead through 4.

R5: Cerra storms out, spitting jabs, hustling Union to ropes: whole different fight breaks out. Union grimacing, under pressure: right hand palm-out at left cheek; left across her gut; torso rolling and bending on hips as she rolls incoming. Cerra big and brawny - bumping Union into place via left shoulder/extended left elbow; HAMMERING Union vicious, short-clubbing lefts and rights up and down both flanks. Nothing fancy - Cerra digging in, pushing and jostling her foe, then bludgeoning her: Gabby can't get a punch in edgewise. Union mouthbreathing, clinching throughout the final minute: Cerra bullying her girl, bodying up to make ref pull her off for breaks.

R6: Union doing a lot more slugging in close - forced to fight by Cerra. Gabby digging in, bumping shoulders, trying to hold ground: girls bumping-n'-slugging midring. Cerra winning canvas the hard way - backing Union to ropes, beating her there: Union tying up more quickly now, hanging on for ref's breaks. All Cerra until late: Gabby pointing left shoulder at Cerra, defending at the ropes...Union rolls-with a Cerra right hand, answers back a SHARP, snapping right uppercut and ERICA'S WOBBLY BUTT! Cerra clipped clean, stumbles into Union, reaching around her waist to clinch hurt at bell.

R7: Bruising fare: Cerra busting up, but moving forward, putting her left shoulder into Union's chest as Gabby digs in midring. Union grimacing, feeling the thump of Cerra to body and arms: she's being slowly, steadily reduced; gradually slugged/bumped to ropes. Off the ropes, Union fights bitter guerilla campaign: snatching and swiping counters while twisting side to side, or rolling her torso. Cerra shrugs it all off, fighting off Union's chest to batter her flanks/torso. Cerra bull-strong in these encounters - reaching under Gabby's arms and chesting her upright to ropes like a ragdoll: ref reefing at Cerra's brawny arms/shoulders to pull her out of Union's clinches.

R8: Steady Cerra pressure: stubborn defiance from Union. Gabby giving ground grudgingly - fitting Cerra for sneaky left uppercuts from the right (back) foot, then twisting torso-left to clip Cerra righty. Erica ignores sharp shots, keeps hammering Gabby like she's beating Union with a shovel. Fight drifts to ropes - Cerra on top: Erica pushes and pounds her foe until she's clinched. Gabby sliding to the side, walking away, then grimly fighting the same close-in battle in retreat: Erica just too strong, too willful for Union to be a dancer.

R9: Gabrielle bobbing at the waist, making Erica miss, then making her pay. Gorgeous slip-and-clip from Union - twisting on her hips as she's sliding back, walking Cerra into swiping lefts or rights, then sidestepping her. Erica relentlessly forward, but predictable, and constantly forgetting to jab: Union able to lure her foe forward, slip Erica's work, score, and escape without paying full price.

R10: Cerra hounds Gabby to ropes, goes to work on her: Union grits teeth, concentrates on tying up head-and-arm for ref's breaks. Union sliding to the side and walking away: she's running the clock, just trying to deny Cerra a decisive engagement. All Erica, all the time: she walks Union down, beats her ropeside until clinched - then repeats the pattern as mouthbreathing Union legs away. Gabby does a nice job minimizing - alternately running and holding to deny Cerra the homerun. Comes back UD10 draw.

After: Union looking relieved, maybe a little shocked, but lifting her mitts and strutting a bit as a puffy-faced Cerra looks on. Two knockdown third saves Union from defeat - Cerra takes 6 rounds to eat up the stagger, but it's not enough to take the duke. "I'm pissed," Erica admits in postfight, left eye visibly swollen. "I outworked her, I was more aggressive, but I just couldn't catch her clean enough to really rock her. She's tricky - I'll give her that. Very, very tricky."
