Intro:
For the fourth time in their careers Gemma Atkinson and Karlie Kloss fight it out, tonight it's as part of this years Diamond Boxing Tournament, the first time was back in 2017 for the FCBA welterweight title, Gemma Atkinson retained her title by stopping the then undefeated Karlie in eight rounds, since then the scales have tipped to two wins to Karlie, does the scales even out tonight or does Karlie get her third win over Gemma?

Each got their chance to speak on camera about their thoughts, Gemma was first up wearing a black vest and blue denim jeans, she sits with her fists clenched, telling the cameras "this is the chance I have been waiting for to remind everyone who I am, when people talk about the great welterweight champions I get ignored, when I win this tournament I get the respect I deserve" an annoyed look on her beautiful face.

Gemma changes the subject as she says "to you Karlie, I can't pretend you didn't deserve to beat me the last two times, I am refocused now and ready to knock you out" showing her right fist to the camera in a warning to Karlie, heading off looking motivated to make this tournament her comeback story.

Karlie meanwhile wears a black dress with her legs showing, she sits down with her eyes locked onto the camera, she says "it's been years since I won the New Blood Tournament, I was on such a roll and Gemma was the one to stop me, I've never really recovered so every time I am matched with you I will give you my best, I will smack you around and I will beat you" both fists clenched.

"But I can't think about the past, now I have to prove my potential has not been wasted, I am ready to take that next step up before finally getting a title around this waist" Karlie says as she taps her waist, focused on finally moving into that elite bracket on a consistent basis then just flirting with it like in the past.

Fight night in Toronto's Bells Center, out first comes Gemma through the curtain with her coach Denise Lewis, she walks down the aisle banging her gloves together looking fired up, she is wearing a red sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves, her hair is tied back into a ponytail, she steps into the ring raising her right glove in the air to acknowledge her fans cheering her.

Karlie comes through the curtain now with her coach Kelly Hu behind her, she walks down the aisle with her eyes square onto the ring, her attire consists of a white sports bra with black trim, matching trunks and boots, white gloves with black thumbs, her hair is tied into a ponytail too, she climbs into the ring, tapping her cheeks with her gloves psyching herself up.

The referee brings the fighters to the middle, where they square up with eyes locked as there is no love lost here, neither touches gloves with their opponent, instead jogging back to their corners with the referee nodding to the time keeper to ring the bell to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Off they go with both women laying into each other right away as Gemma looking to get into the face of her taller opponent, snapping in straight shots to test the abs of Kloss, who hammers back around her head to try to make the English fighter regret her decision to be so forthright in her attacks.

After a hectic opening forty seconds, Karlie gives Gemma a push with her left forearm to open up space for a right cross to land on the cheek, a double jab then rifles into the nose of Atkinson to drive her back to the outside, Karlie now enforcing her will on the round, taking the center of the ring for herself.

Gemma now struggling to make as much of an impact, landing some crisp shots but getting caught to her beautiful face flush with two punch combos, Karlie looking cool as she stares at Gemma, finding gaps in the former champions defence to keep her herded near the ropes.

Late in the round Gemma finally gets back in close after ducking a straight, landing two uppercuts to the body that are close to the waistband of her opponent's trunks, Gemma muscles Karlie back towards the middle of the ring to the delight of Denise, soon the bell rings with both fighters returning to their corners looking all business tonight, the Fighting Academy corner with more to celebrate after a good start for their girl, still they know one round on the board doesn't make a win.

Round 2:
Trading more combos now as they box around the center, Gemma moving her upper body more to dodge and create openings to strike through, Karlie doubling up her jab again to try to counteract her as it is becoming more of a chess match, especially compared to how the opener started off.

Feinting with her jab, Gemma is able to slip one coming her way and lands a right hook into the ribs of Karlie, then using her strength to muscle the bigger woman onto the ropes, where she bangs away to the body till she is shoved off by her opponent, Gemma looking like a shark as she moves forwards after Karlie.

Now it's Gemma dictating the action as Karlie has her back aimed at the ropes, Atkinson showing off her skills along with a few rough tactics like using her left forearm to nudge back Karlie when she sees Kloss moving away from the ropes, Karlie looking annoyed as she pushes Gemma to get some distance between them.

The exchanges are becoming more heated as they head into the final moments of the round, Kelly not looking impressed as she sees Karlie getting heated, Gemma catching her with some meaty overhand shots till the bell dings, Gemma bangs her gloves together as she walks back to her corner, hyped up for this fight.

Round 3:
Gemma starting off quickly, knowing she needs to keep the pressure on Karlie, drilling in body shots that has Karlie backing off to the outside part of the ring, Karlie slinging in straight punches that keep Gemma from completely bulldozing through her, still it's Gemma pushing the pace over the opening moments of the round.

A straight catches Karlie under her chin with an overhand left following up, Gemma driving Karlie into a neutral corner as her fans are on their feet yelling her to really hurt the supermodel, Karlie soaking up the pressure as best she can on her arms and gloves, groaning when hooks are able to crack her onto her sides.

Clinching up with Gemma, Karlie pulls her into a front headlock, looking frustrated by Gemma's bullying tactics, referee breaks them up with Karlie being told to get her rhythm going, catching Gemma coming in with a one-two combo to the top of her head, stepping back with a counter right catching Atkinson on the side of her jaw to show the talent Karlie has.

The final minute seeing Karlie looking better, though still boxing off the back foot as Gemma keeps on the attack, a straight digs Kloss into her chest as a clubbing left hook landed onto the chin of the American, Karlie again shelling up as Gemma barks in effort, trying to break down the leggy model up till the round ends, Gemma getting a nod from Denise as she is starting to control the action, Karlie meanwhile told by Kelly to loosen herself up.

Round 4:
Giving Gemma space as she moves more side to side, Karlie looking for openings as she slings in counter punches, with Gemma landing several more good digging body shots, she gets caught with a right hook onto the side of her head when her left glove drops too low.

Another counter left catches Gemma on the chin soon enough, with an uppercut rocking the head of the actress back, smelling blood in the water Karlie is quick to pound away at Gemma's face, Gemma trying to fire back is being beaten to the punch as she reels backwards, A RIGHT HOOK ON THE TEMPLE SENDS GEMMA CRUMBLING DOWN ONTO THE CANVAS!

Crowd going nuts as Karlie raises her arms into the air while staring at Gemma, moving back to her own corner getting a big grin from Gena, 1...2...3...4... Gemma is groaning as she lays on her right side, 5...6... Barely budging at all as Denise shakes her head, 7...8... Gemma rolls to her front holding her head in her gloves, 9...10 maybe wishing this was a nightmare as she is counted out!

Winner Karlie Kloss KO Round 4

After:
While she was pushed by Gemma, Karlie has gotten the most impressive win tonight so far with this brutal knockout, she struts around the ring in a lap of honour as her fans chant her name, Kelly applauding with looking proud of her fighter getting off to the start they needed this year.

Denise on the other hand needs to check on Gemma, who still looks rocked when she is helped to sit up, this was certainly not how she wanted to start the tournament, losing to her biggest rival in the first round of fights, Denise needing to remind her this isn't the end of the world, Gemma just looking at her feet with a disappointed expression.

Once Gemma feels better she is helped out the ring, wanting to get away from Karlie and back to her locker room, Gemma had moments to be proud of that she can use against the other leggy fighters in the tournament, still it will be a hard journey for her to win this event.

Karlie meanwhile gets cleaned up and nods to Kelly when her coach tells her she looked great, over to the middle of the ring goes Karlie, a beaming smile as her right hand is raised in victory, left hand on her hip as she looks imposingly at the camera.

It's a super start for Karlie as she heads out the ring, plenty of tough fights ahead for Kloss in this tournament, if she can keep landing as cleanly as she did tonight then don't write her off taking the tiara home with her, for now though it's simply back to the gym as Kelly makes sure she knows this is just the beginning of a hard journey ahead.
