Before: Williams rewarded for an earlier gutsy showing with a climb up the ladder, facing the relatively dormant but popular Tiffany T. Michelle a fighter in the Fishel mode, Thiessen the type to talk brawl, then fight slick, could have the skills edge in this one. Williams in white sportsbra, light blue adidas terrycloth trunks, Thiessen in black sports bra, red adidas trunks, slicked back ponytail. Fight well off Broadway at a small club called the Palace—vocal crowd very close to the ring.

During R1: Williams with a very deliberate stepping motion, chin tucked, looking up at Tiffany Thiessen with her hands at chest level until she closes, then she goes high guard, leans in with Michelle as the girls go cheek to cheek. Williams learning a lesson about fighting inside as Tiffany ties up the blonde, hooks her elbows to steer her into punches, pesters her with nipping uppercuts to the face, and walks the blonde in little circles to keep Michelle’s feet from setting, Williams with the odd clouting blow, but school is in session.

R2: More of the same as Tiffany not concerned with hurting Michelle at this point, rather trying to control the blonde and frustrate her with smothering tactics. Williams getting red-faced with impatience, wants to load up, but can’t get off as Tiffany stays on her.

R3: Thiessen’s been steadily working Michelle’s midriff, and now sets down on punches, smacking the ear with a timing hook, then doubling it down in behind Williams’ elbow, and the textbook combo scores a classic knockdown as Michelle’s legs give out with the liver-shot. Williams up and nodding, but she plows back in strong to get bogged down, tied up and chipped away at as Thiessen owns her inside. Williams is scoring, but she’s getting out hit 2 or 3 to one in these rounds.

R4: Tiffany Amber shows class, reading Williams’ rush, ducking under/turning away from the right hand and coming back with a short right uppercut to put a deep bend in Michelle’s legs. Williams glassy-eyed and hurt, gets walked to the ropes for a beat down, but to her credit, doesn’t cave. Williams and Thiessen slug it out along the ropes, each giving as good as she gets as the crowd roars 3 feet away from the apron.

R5: Williams has Tiffany’s respect if nothing else, and the brunette does more clinching this round in an effort to keep the bout at a snail’s pace. Girls tumbling along the ropes ion one another’s grasp. Thiessen occasionally digging to either side of Williams’ body with single shots, as Williams continues to try to shuck her arms free. Impotent ref doesn’t break, or even warn Thiessen for what has become inappropriate holding.

R6: Michelle finally gets on board, punching her way out of Thiessen’s grip, and landing beefy one-twos to the brunette’s belly. Tiffany doesn’t like slogging, and looks to slip inside, but Williams’ showing discipline, doesn’t head hunt, continuing to pound the pudding around Amber’s middle. Midway through the round, spanking left hook carves into Thiessen, bringing a cry to her lips, and a wobble to her butt as she collapses to the ropes. Williams surging, swarming with clubbing lefts and rights as she bends into and straighten out of a deep crouch at the waist. Thiessen taking bombs as Michelle rotates her torso up and down, bringing in heavy handed single shots behind the movement and THE REF STEPS IN! Battered and confused, Tiffany lolls in the referee’s arms, barely aware that she had lost the fight as Michelle pumps her fists at the small but enthusiastic crowd.

After: Great effort from Michelle Williams, who hadn’t won a round up until the stoppage. Tiffany more effective, but Michelle the gamer of the two, and her persistence took a psychological toll as much as any physical effect on Thiessen, who really punked out at the first sign of trouble. Tough sell ahead for Williams, who may have trouble negotiating the shark infested water of Celebrity fight promotion with her hard-nosed, never say die attitude.
