During R1: Girls flat footed, circling slowly counterclockwise, just reaching the left hands out to find one another, weight on the right, left ready to pitch power. Nolin sets the tone, pounding her right hand onto Mariah’s upperchest, then raising her arms to bock the receipt—Carey on her heels in the first minute, unable to break through. Second minute—Gena reaches under Mariah’s arms and chests her to the ropes. Shielding the girl with her body, Nolin throws a series of slamming left forearm smashes to the body, crumpling Carey as the ref tries to get a better angle. Nolin pulling down Mariah’s head, picks her up a beautiful right uppercut and the rout is on. Carey staggering along the ropes, eyes frightened, glossy—Gena clouting her in the back of the head with walloping rights drives the challenger head first into a corner. Beat down. Nolin on Mariah, standing the girl up by the shoulders then drifting in rights to the face. Carey in shock, hands light on big G’s hips—facing into blows as the ref looks on. Nolin glowing, now taking what she wants—Carey’s enormous jugs and shiny pretty face are hammered without mercy as Nolin stacks and jacks to the bell,. Mariah carried in swoon to her stool where she quits in a blubbery torrent—Savage KO1 Gena Lee Nolin.

After: Yikes, Carey looked very good coming in, leaving a battered wreck in 3 short minutes, that’s Nolin at her very, very best, or worst depending. Gean strutting with hands held high, grinning smug as she helps Mariah off her stool, supports her around the ribcage in a strong right arm and takes Carey for a welcome-back walk of shame. This goes on and on—crowd lapping it up, officials shaking their heads and clicking their tongues—Nolin just soaking up the last vestiges of pride her opponent has to offer with corner mashings, lots of photo-op stops, meanspirited whispering into Mariah’s ear.
