FIGHT NIGHT LIVE: BLOOD FEUD 2020

(Girls Friday vs Holloway Boxing)

Intro:
Alessandra Ambrosio and Dua Lipa lock up once again in the ring, this time they step into the State Farm Center in Atlanta, how far has Dua come from their first fight?

Alessandra is 38 years old; she stands 5'9 ½, holding a record of 43 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 11 defeats, she is the current BBU lightweight champion, she is a former FCBA lightweight champion.

Dua is 24 years old; she stands 5'8, her record is 14 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with just 3 defeats.

These two fought back in August 2018 for the BBU lightweight title, Dua went into the fight undefeated and came out of it with her first loss after getting knocked out in the seventh round, though at the time pundits all agreed she gave Alessandra a hell of a test, has she improved enough to get the win this time around?

In the Girls Friday locker room before the fight, Alessandra looks relaxed as she stretches, Lucy Liu steps into the room to get a word from the BBU champ.

Asked about her feelings towards Dua, Alessandra says "I know this event is called bad blood but Dua is a good kid, she can box rings around most women but I already showed I can beat her"

When asked if she believes Dua hasn't improved to beat her, the Brazilian replies "oh Dua is a better fighter, she isn't afraid as much to get stuck in from what I have seen, the fact is though that she needs the win badly against me, with that added pressure on her she'll make a mistake and I will punish her as I did two years ago"

Alessandra then tells Lucy "but if Dua somehow beats me then she deserves to be in the title hunt, whether that be coming back to the BBU and having a third crack with me or facing Taylor Swift" smiling as Lucy thanks her for the time.

In the Holloway locker room; Dua is chatting with her coach on tactics, they stop when they see Lucy is wanting a word, Dua looking excited to see her as she jumps out her seat to go see Liu.

Dua is asked the obvious question about is she ready for tonight, the singer replies "if this were two years ago my heart would be trying to escape my chest, after the names I have fought lately, Alessandra isn't as scary a proposition as she was at one time"

The next question is about her view on getting a title shot, told about Alessandra maybe hinting she could get a future BBU title shot, Dua nods at that before saying "that would be amazing, you'd need to ask my manager if that is something he'd want me to do"

Tapping her abs as she lifts up her black T-shirt, Dua continues "I think any title belt would look great on these right?" Getting a laugh from Lucy as Dua giggles herself, both sharing a hug as Lucy wishes her good luck before she leaves.

Fighting time; Alessandra heads out with Taryn Terrell and Eva Carneiro beside her, Alessandra shows off the BBU lightweight title on her waist, smiling as she heads down to the ring with her arms out at her sides.

The model is wearing a black sports bra with a gold "AA" badge on the right bra cup, black trunks with gold stripes down the sides, black shoes and gloves, her hair is tied into a ponytail.

Coming into the ring; Alessandra has the title belt taken off so she can go pose at the center of the ring, left hand in the air as she blows kisses with her right, jogging to her corner where she is met with Taryn telling her to not take Dua lightly.

Dua now leads out the Holloway crew to the ring, she is wearing a black hoodie with white trim, she is looking excited as ever to fight as she waves to her supporters.

Getting her hoodie taken off, the Brit reveals she is wearing a black sports bra with red trim, matching trunks and shoes, red gloves, her hair is tied back into a fighting braid.

Stepping into the ring; Dua bows to each side of the ring, pointing a fist at Alessandra when she faces her in a show of respect, something as she gets to her corner her coach reminds her not to show too much of.

The fighters jog to the center of the ring, while they like each other outside the ring, the looks they are giving their opponent shows they want to go through their opponent to get to bigger things.

Bumping fists together in a sign of respect, they turn and quickly return to their corners, the bell rings as soon as both are ready, starting 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
As they step out to fight, Dua is quickly on her bike, drilling her jab into the cheeks of Alessandra, the veteran trying to close her down as soon as she can.

Missing with a left cross; Alessandra gets hit with a right to the body, a left lands into her ribs to make her groan out and back off, an angry look on her face as she struggles to close down Lipa.

Who is looking relaxed, she has definitely come out the blocks quickly as she drills in a jab/straight into the face of the model, Dua dancing back when a right cross catches her cheek.

Heading into the final minute of the round, finally Ambrosio lands her first meaningful punch of the round, after feinting with her left, a right cross hits Dua on her jaw.

Stepping forwards Alessandra lands a follow up clean jab/right hook to back up Dua, putting her behind her gloves as Alessandra steps forwards to keep her pinned there up to the end of the round.

Alessandra looks to be telling herself to come on as she steps back to her corner, Dua is the happier fighter as she sits on her stool, knowing that she took that opening round.

Round 2:
Stepping out her corner quicker, the fighters trade more punches as they move around the ring, Dua happy to move her head around to dodge punches, slinging punches into the mouth of the model to keep her at range.

Till after the opening thirty seconds Alessandra times her attack better, deflecting a straight to ram one of her own into the face of the singer, following with a left across her cheek.

The aggressive Alessandra is on show now, keeping Dua near the ropes as they let their hands go, Alessandra lands another left across the face of Dua, landing a straight to press back Dua into the ropes.

Dua clinching Alessandra to stop the Brazilian from opening up on her, the referee needed to step in to break them up when they grind foreheads together.

Back into space Dua has the room to work in, slamming in a crisp overhand left to the side of Alessandra's head, then a right buries itself into Ambrosio's abs to make her back off.

The remainder of the round sees Dua and Alessandra boxing around the ring, Alessandra looking for those big hooks that she just misses, Dua stepping back to dodge punches.

At the bell the two fighters nod to each other, passing by to return to their corners, the Girls Friday corner is happier as they feel this round has evened things up again.

Round 3:
Again Alessandra looks to come out her corner quickly, Dua though slips a straight to bang in two body shots, moving back out the way of a left aimed at her head.

Showing her elusiveness again, Dua is countering after slipping punches from Alessandra, especially targeting the older fighters body it seems to wear her down, slow her down further.

But Alessandra catches her out with a left to the top of her head as she dips down, a straight pushes Dua back a step as Alessandra now starts to open up on her.

It isn't pretty but each time Alessandra does get momentum, Dua stops her by holding her arms or clinching, forcing the referee to break them apart.

When they are apart Dua is landing the cleaner shots as she gets back on the move, doubling up her jab into the face or abs of Alessandra to keep her at range.

At the bell Dua raises her right fist into the air, Alessandra can only smirk as she shakes her head and returns to her corner, almost looking at Dua it seems as a protégé more then a rival it seems.

Round 4:
Trading stiff jabs to start off, Dua again is out the blocks the quicker, her hand speed giving Alessandra trouble as she is marking up the models cheeks.

Leaning out the way of a jab, Alessandra knocks it aside to land a left hook to the side of Dua's head, the Brit getting knocked back with two more straight punches to her face.

When it looks like Dua is going to move off the ropes, Alessandra uses her left forearm to push Dua onto the ropes, looking like Alessandra is going to try roughing up the younger woman.

Swinging more hooks into the body of Lipa, her head is pressed against the gloves of the singer, keeping her pinned to the ropes, Dua needing to throw back with hooks of her own to try to get Alessandra off her.

Each time Dua gets off the ropes, she is shoved back onto them, Alessandra mauling away at her abs, trying to break down Dua as the Holloway corner is yelling at their girl to get out of there.

The round ends with Dua shaking her head as she returns to her corner, knowing she blew that round by allowing herself to be bullied by Alessandra.

Who is grinning in her corner as she bangs her gloves together, Taryn tells Alessandra "playtime is over OK, bash her down and remind her she will never be in your class"

Round 5:
Stepping back out their corners, Dua keeps to the left side of Alessandra, who smiles as she looks for a chance to rush the younger woman.

Instead it is Dua controlling the pace once again, drilling her punches into the left side of Alessandra, who tightens her guard as she keeps stalking the singer.

Alessandra finally lands a left across the cheek of Lipa, a right follows to knock sweat from the stunning Brits face, Alessandra working her behind her gloves back towards the ropes.

But Dua dips under a right hook aimed at the side of her head, she comes up with an uppercut that sends Alessandra into her heels with a surprised look.

Dua doesn't waste time knocking back Alessandra to the opposite side of the ring, the models nose bleeds as she gets hit cleanly with three straight shots.

Late in the round after shoving Dua back, an irate looking Alessandra comes at her, ending up getting caught with a left hook to her jaw though and another right onto her nose as more blood flows freely.

The bell rings to end the round with Alessandra wiping her nose with her glove, Eva is quick to get to work stopping the bleeding as Taryn is berating her for her mistake there.

Meanwhile the Holloway camp looks calm as they don't over celebrate the great round for them, Dua listening intently to her coach as she has water sponged over her head.

Round 6:
As they come back out to trade, Alessandra isn't throwing as many punches out, keeping her left close to her nose as she is clearly worried by it.

A feint by Dua allows her to land a cracking right around the guard of her opponent to her ear, when the guard opens up, Lipa lands a left uppercut followed by a right across the chin of Alessandra to wobble her.

Alessandra tries to clinch up but eats another uppercut, THE BRAZILIAN'S LEGS SHAKE AND A LEFT HOOK SENDS AMBROSIO DOWN TO HER SIDE!

Almost looking disbelieving, Dua has to be nudged away by the referee for the count to begin, 1...2...3...4.. Alessandra has blood running from her nose to the canvas, 5....6...7.. Alessandra is stirring but not moving much 8...9...10 that's all she wrote for Alessandra tonight!

Winner Dua Lipa KO Round 6

After:
Dua looking proud of herself as she jumps for joy, knowing this is a win that proves how far she has come in the past two years under the Holloway stables tutelage.

She jogs back to her corner to hug her corner team, especially thanking her coach for all their help in making her a better fighter, with the coach replying "you have more to come Dua, this is just another step towards title glory" making Dua nod looking excited for her future.

While Alessandra has to be helped to sit up, Eva working on stopping the bleeding from her nose again, as the BBU champ comes around to realise she lost.

She doesn't look too down heartened though as she sees Dua beaming, Alessandra telling Taryn "damn I hoped I was still better but I knew she'd get me one day" Taryn not looking too pleased by that happening.

Once Dua sees Alessandra is standing up, she rushes over to her to see how she is, they embrace as they compliment each other on a good fight.

"So does this mean I get a BBU title shot?" Asks Dua with a wink, Alessandra just grins as she turns to look at Taryn, then whispers as age turns back "maybe someday we'll do this again for my belt" with a big smile.

They return to their corners to get fully cleaned up, Alessandra and Taryn discussing what went wrong as the trainer seems to be the only one taking this defeat seriously in the Girls Friday corner, Alessandra and even Eva seeming to let their liking of Dua be the only thing they can think of right now.

When the fighters return to the center of the ring, Alessandra applauds Dua getting her hand lifted, the two shake hands as Alessandra tells Dua "look it's up to your management if you'd want to get into the title hunt for my title, I still have business to deal with myself this month concerning my title"

As Dua nods Alessandra taps her abs and says "I think the FCBA title will be around this waist before we can set up a third match, maybe we put both belts on the line then" getting a big smile off of Dua as they embrace again.

Alessandra then leaves the ring with Taryn not happy at any hint that Dua could get a title shot at Alessandra, but Alessandra replies "I have to beat Sayuki (Matsumoto) first, then we can worry about the future" calming down Taryn enough that she says "OK" in reply.

Back in the ring Dua is posing at the center of the ring for the cameras, holding her fists up with a smile as she says "bring on Taylor Swift!" To loud cheers from her supporters.

She steps out the ring with a bright future ahead of her, how far she can go is yet to be seen but nobody can doubt her potential.
