Before: Shannen almost as anxious to get at Michelle as vice versa. Doherty convinced Williams just as “snot nosed punk”. Michelle convinced she’s the better woman, and last time out gave all before coming up short late. Doherty in red jockey two piece, Michelle in baby blue.

During R1: Michelle steps to Shannen, hurling the wide right hand to the ribs, keeping her chin tucked, staying low, and pushing Doherty back with the left. Shannen not getting off, left low across her belly, right high across her chest, stands and turns with Michelle’s punches, getting beaten up in toe to toe exchanges. Shannen landing but not impressing, as the girls verbally assail one another at the bell.

R2: Workmanlike Michelle walks through Shannen’s jab, picking up a little nick under the left eye, but staying on Doherty’s midsection, Thumping lefts and rights find Shannen’s hips, tummy and jugs, and Doherty goes into a bitchy funk, taking clubbing punches and getting outhustled again in the second.

R3: Michelle now in full bully mode, bodying up on Doherty, walking her back, plowing her fists into the brunettes body with gusto, and lighting up with delight as Shannen begins to cringe from rib-work. Doherty forced to clinch as Michelle pounds away, but can’t mount any offense. Williams stuffing Shannen into corners, leaning on the brunette, slugging with chugging, methodical bursts, and clubbing away with short strokes on the jawline at every opportunity. Williams with a smug nod at the bell, has Shannen hurting, and under control.

R4: Doherty opens the round with a heavy jab, picking Michelle up for the first time, and circling to the left to walk the blonde into wide right hands. Shannen posts a come-back shutout of her own, and it’s hard nosed stiff: she wades in with Michelle, swinging a wide left to the body, twisting into a slinging right on the jaw, and backing Williams up.

R5: Flat footed slugfest continues, and Shannen gains momentum as Williams shuts down. Michelle on her heels a little bit, dipping behind a crossed arm defense, and Doherty starts to limber up, getting her hips in behind whip action lefts to the ribs, coming back with the slinging right hand on the jaw. Down the stretch, Shannen touches Michelle’s forehead with the left, spanks the jaw with the right, and comes back with a baseball bat left to the pit of the stomach to crumple Williams up,. Michelle hurting at the bell, and Shannen lets her hear it.

R6: Toe to toe banging as both girls stand their ground, willing to taste leather in order to dish it out. Down the stretch, Shannen begins to get the better of it, slapping that mean left in under Michelle’s elbow, dropping the guard just a little, and jamming the whipping right hand over Michelle’s shoulders. William rocked again at the bell, looks a little dazed, and Doherty gives a cracking late elbow just because.

R7: Shannen posting the shutout, stepping to Williams, giving a little lean back out of range, then banging with swinging lefts and rights. Bad moment late as Shannen bashes out Michelle’s mouthguard, then tears up the blonde’s lips with savage short lefts and rights from right in front of the beleaguered blonde.

R8: Michelle looking busted up, cuts off the ring as Shannen circles away, when suddenly, a jolting lead right hand flush on the mouth sits Michelle down! Doherty lifting her mitts, now starting to swagger as Williams slowly gets off her butt. Smiling beat down from Doherty the rest of the way as she squares up, budging Williams back with her chest, then clouting the blonde with the wide left to midsection, wide right on the chin. Doherty likes to finish up her punches bhy pressing right in on Williams, keeping the blonde on the retreat.

R9: Bashing shutout from Shannen as she steps it up, breaking Michelle’s heart this round with punishing salvoes from outside. Shannen has the blonde reaching with her punches, then counters viciously to the jaw with either hand, leaning back and in as she circles. Michelle starting to drift, staggers after Doherty, trying to get back to hurting Shannen to the body, but it’s not working,. Doherty beating Williams to the ropes in the final minute, leaning on the blonde, taunting her mercilessly in the clinches.

R10: Shannen stands right in with Michelle, giving the blonde the chance to trade, and once again it’s even slogging for much of the round as Michelle refuses to quit. Down the stretch, Doherty lands some gorgeous left and right uppercuts, sucking all the fight out of the blonde and leaving her woozy/helpless. Shannen smiling, potshotting the defenceless blonde with straight right hands, wide lefts on the chin, has Michelle all m but out at the bell. At the finish, Williams wears a blasted expression, dazed and punished—while Doherty lifts her mitts and struts the ring. Convincing decision Shannen D.

After: Doherty spots the youngster 3 rounds, then comes on like a freight train, getting stronger as the fight goes on to hand Michelle a dreadful beating. “She has so little of what it takes to be competitive,” says Shannen in post-fight, “that if she had come to my camp looking for work, we’d have sent her away. I can’t believe I’m getting paid for this!” Wow, that’s pretty mean, Williams unavailable for comment.
