Before: Pop sensations muscle up for rematch—Knowles carries considerable momentum into this one after seeming to finish up stronger than Britney in the last fight. “Beatin’ Britney’s Booty!” a familiar refrain at raucous press conferences which usually degenerate into Springer episodes. Spears with a serious threat in front of her—Britney’s more polished, but Beyonce is stronger and hungry to assert herself. Britney in black boy cut trunks, single strap bandeau, black shoes and gloves—Beyonce identically outfitted in pink, white shoes and gloves.

During 1,2: Girls learned in the first fight they can’t get away from each other—don’t waste any time trying as they body up cheek to cheek, leaning forward, hands loose and low—both girls just sort of pushing and palming one another’s bellies with measuring left hands, doing all the punching with licking right hands off the hip inside. Knowles more comfortable out of this posture, often wrapping Britney with the left and working over her left side—Beyonce’s right hand sometimes bouncing off the ribs to scrape Britney’s belly, or skidding across the back as Knowles happily slugs away. Both rounds to Knowles—Britney not getting shutout, but she’s giving ground, looking hurt and pouty in Beyonce’s arms.

R3: Beyonce starting to grind on Britney, gets her body on Spears, bellies Britney into the ropes, wrestles her arms down and goes to the body with rubber armed delivery—Beyonce never lifting her mitts higher than her stomach. Midway through, Spears shows class—she’s using the ropes, covering up and bouncing gently against them to make Knowles miss and a cute right uppercut counter stops Beyonce from punching. Brit reverses heir positions, cuffing Knowles with a series oif little right hands on the ear and putting Beyonce’s back on the ropes—Spears staying compact, left hand at her stomach—she’s using her lead shoulder to nudge and measure with, just turning her torso left and right to clip tight punches against Knowles’ face. Beyonce recovers well and fights her way off the ropes in a rousing final minute, backing Britney up to center ring where the girls trade lustily to the bell.

R4: Britney clinching up high, bellying her girl back to the ropes, then throwing that cheap, but very effective elbow/forearm smash to the velvet gut of Beyonce—Knowles pouting and buckling forward—she’s at Britney’s mercy. Spears showing a variety of brawling looks—she bodying up, reaching under Beyonce’s arms, chesting Knowles into the ropes, letting her feel the weight, then going to town downstairs with more elbows sprinkled in amongst the very short, snapping punches. Occasionally, Spears will go back to using her left shoulder on Beyonce, using her hips and torso to clip short shots against Knowles’ chin—very pretty, compact combination punching Beyonce pouting, clinching—butt on the ropes, getting bullied and beaten comprehensively from bell to bell.

R5: Knowles has a better first minute, but Spears restores control with that vicious elbow smash across Beyonce’s gut—just a short, violent push into belly—Britney able to cover the crime with her body as she huddles in close after impact. Knowles crumbling under the fouls—Britney backs her up and works her over at the ropes, working out of the wrap to pay back the hip and kidney work in kind. Down the stretch, Spears relaxed, hands low, leaning on Beyonce and lifting heavy, slinging leather up into the belly, palming those hips to prop Knowles back for more and BEYONCE GOES DOWN! Knowles just sitting down suddenly in the corner, knees at her chest, hands on either rope as she  blinks back tears—she takes 8 to relieve the pressure as Britney paces, anxious to get back on.

R6: Britney’s taken over the bout—Knowles fighting with a B###hy little pout, cringing even before she’s touched—Spears has gotten to that booty big time thus far. Brit with her girl’s back against the ropes, just working her—She’ll wrap up, lean on, hoist loose right hands up into the belly or curling around to get at the kidneys and leftside ribs. Another steady, methodical stream of abuse—Britney just standing her girl up at the ropes and punishing her—BEYONCE TAKES A KNEE! Openly blubbering now—Knowles has to go down—Spears flashes a rare smile as she has teeth firmly set in her opponent’s throat at this point. Figuratively, of course.

R7: Britney smearing Beyonce against the topes—action gets sloppy as Knowles hooks up underneath Spears’ arms and twists HER to the ropes—they tumble along the perimeter of the ring with the ref trying to pry them apart. Midway through, girls fall in, but Beyonce manages to turn a short right hand to the solar plexus, catching Britney perfectly as she was looking to clinch on top—SPEARS GOES DOWN! Britney in agony on all fours, badly gut shot—Knowles sweaty, mouth breathing, glares from the neutral corner as Spears struggles to beat the count. After  8, Beyonce rubs an arm across her mouth and dives in, punching with her chest on Britney, laying in leather to the belly and low as this fight gets desperate. Spears finishes up hurting, teeth bared, trembling—Knowles has to be physically pushed back after the bell.

R8: Girls clinch up high, struggling belly to belly to pull and twist one another off balance, wedging right hands into tummies or lower backs as both girls work out of the clinch. Ref breaking the girls many times, but they always fall back in, savagely bludgeoning each other in heartless exchanges. Round ends with Spears on top, cradling Beyonce in her left arm, plugging hurtful right hands into the belly, around the back at the bell.

R9: Beyonce with an energy surge—she’s the boss as she wrestles Britney to the ropes and starts to administer a right hand beating out of the lock up Juicy digs to the tender abs and left hip—Britney trying to twist her body away as the girls remain in constant contact up top. Down the stretch, Spears pivots to the right and creates space, leaves her let straight on Beyonce’s chest and NAILS Knowles with short clocking right as the girl turns into the punch—Beyonce badly hurt—goes to clinch high and Spears guts her with a malevolent elbow smash in the belly, dropping Beyonce to all fours with a sob. Spears standing with her knees against Knowles’ trembling body, just looking down and snarling until the ref directs her away. Spears steals it late—Knowles looking for a miracle in the 10th.

R10: Hard fought, bitter two way action as the girls continue to fight at close quarters with rangy, curling punches from their thighs, each laying in on the other’s shoulders to protect her chin. Knowles lands the harder right hands, really shaking Britney as the punch bangs off body with authority, but Spears is busier, and more thoughtful. Brit occasionally closing her stance to show Knowles that lead left shoulder, and work those tight little clipping lefts and rights to puff up Beyonce’s face. These little flurries really expose Beyonce’s defensive deficiencies—if she can’t get her body on Britney, she gets outboxed even at close range. At the bell—Britney gets big o Knowles, bumping chests and sneering taunts as entourages flood the ring. Comes back UD10 Britney Spears/

After: vindication for Britney as she turns back a very determined challenger—takes a firm hold of the back of Beyonce’s trunks and pulls her out of her corner for a heartless walk of sham. Spears brings out the princess again in Knowles, hurting Beyonce’s belly and showing her the canvas 3 times with a combination of sharp cluster punching, hardhearted elbows on beef, and winning a lot of close, hotly contested exchanges on heart alone. Britney’s best  performance in a long time—Knowles sent back to the shop all banged up, has some work to do.
