Boxing On The Beach

(To Aristide - I'd already done up results before reading about the Aniston angle - sorry for being out of synch. Aniston/Cox WOULD be an interesting two-against-one wrestling match for Jenny though, wouldn't it?).

Before: Cox nixing the Aniston/Cox tag team approach to this contest, telling Beach Beat magazine - "O'Dell just wants to dilute the beating I'm planning to give her. I've got a great chance to knock O'Dell off - I don't want to give her rounds off to rest." Further nasty shock for JOD - Taylor Cole showing up as chief second to Cox - nobody's made a more in-depth study of Jenny O'Dell than Ms. Cole. Jenny in black SHARK bikini, gold hip chain, small black gloves. Courtney in red bikini, hair back in scruffy beach ponytail; small red gloves. Cole in identical red bikini, emphasizing the group effort being made here. Outdoor Malibu beach - standard ring and bleachers set up.

During R1: Cole yelling "Chop at her hip!" - Cox doing that and then some. O'Dell's dukes collected loose at her mouth as she steps forward: Cox right under her chin left slightly lower as she motors about. Court feinting, crouching low to jab at Jennys golden-brown gut, circling. Cox coming in off jabs or feints to buggy-whip right hands in above Jenny's left hip, or in behind her left ear: O'Dell tilting forward behind her mitts, getting pasted as she patiently walks off the ring. Biting, stinging blows from Cox give her the round - Jenny just getting acclimated to brunette's moves and velocity.

R2: Jenny continues to encroach - Cox in-and-out, sidestepping, pivoting mainly to her right. Courtney in a deep offensive crouch - electing to jab Jenny's midriff and scoot away to take the first minute - Jenny scowling, walking her down. Middle minute - Cox triggering muscular straight rights into Jenny's firm midsection - palm-down stabbing thrusts, immediately followed by a clawing hook up top out of Courtney's crouch. Jenny rung up - grunting from the body blow, then staring as her face gets clapped - Cox stepping away scot free. Down the stretch, Jenny just turning, frowning as nimble Courtney drills and rakes her: stamping rights to the body setting up nasty, biting hooks, jaw or jug. Shutout Cox has her beaming: she claps a healthy chunk of frustrated O'Dell buttock, sending Jenny steaming back to her corner.

R3: Jenny stepping in behind her jab - not always landing it, but stiff poke denying Court initiative. Cox working well from low plane - crouching down, keeping the jab on Jenny's tummy, stepping around. Middle minute - Jenny rung up HARD on her chin as Court changes up, bringing the right hand up and over as she's crouching in: blonde on her heels, blinking/thinking. Final minute, Courtney tidying up - hooking Jenny's ribs in doubles, then stepping away and COX EATS A RIGHT HAND! Jenny stepping-with, engaging Cox as Court's backpedalling - quick follow up hook takes Courtney heavily in her jugs and COX SCOOTS TO HER RUMP! Cole screaming "No, Courtney NO!" Cox up quickly, blushing crimson as Jenny struts away glaring. Final moments - Cox keeps her distance, runs out the clock as Jenny's on the march.

R4: Jenny looking for more right hands, but crafty Courtney has good answers. Cox slipping in under aggressive O'Dell rights - Court's dukes loose at her chest, quick-snatching left/right against the meat of Jenny's tummy and ribs - GREAT counterpunching to the body has Jenny grunting. Cox very quick-mitted - snapping her licks off Jenny's goodness, bringing the hands back nippy-fast to chest. Jenny scowling, trying for right hands up under Courtney's left-side ribs, but it's a brunette counterpunching clinic in the fourth.

R5: Jenny back to basics - jabbing to manage Courtney's speed and keep her bobbing. O'Dell releasing on the right hand, but coming back immediately with the hook, disrupting Cox's slip-and-counter routine. Jenny also doing a great deal of shoving after punching, or pulling Courtney into brawny blonde clinches - stop and go rhythm helping to make Jenny's size a factor. Jenny with dukes collected at her mouth, elbows in - she's walking Courtney down effectively, finding brunette forehead with jabs and cashing in stern right hands to Cox's left cheek late. Court staggered at the bell, reeling away as heft of O'Dell's leather becomes a factor.

R6: Courtney tuff, resolute, speedy - she ups her tempo, curving in on Jenny from angles, continuing to score on the O'Dell torso. Feints setting up stabbing palm-down rights into Jenny's midsection - good stiff stamp - then a quick, nasty hook slashes across face or jug as Courtney's crouching down. Peppery jabs focus Jenny's guard, exposing tender left hip to buggy whip rights as O'Dell stooped forward behind her mitts. Nasty punch brings yelps of approval from Cole every time: clapping, meaty spank sounding out from Jenny's bruised left flank. Court also coming up top with buggy-whip rights to Jenny's left ear - leaning in close to get 'em, then snapping the hook off Jenny's tummy while executing the shift-right. Brilliant round of boxing has Jenny turning, taking through 6.

R7: O'Dell ups HER tempo, matching leg with nimble Cox. Blonde pounding away jabs - smashing at Courtney's shoulders and skull as brunette's swivelling and bobbing. O'Dell forward, putting a body on Cox to forestall Courtney's attacks, walking brunette into ropes for catch-and-release clinches. Court being pushed around, bullied a bit as Jenny gets grabby, draws warnings from the ref. Blonde stabilizes her front, takes away brunette speed with tummy-on-tummy sloppy-boxing.

R8: Jenny encroaching, getting on Cox with the jab, then the blunt, hacking right, then the shoving hook - Courtney starting to grimace, backing up without firing back. Ref barking warnings whenever Jenny clinches and ragdolls Court in the grasp - blonde being very rough and physical, tossing Cox about, pushing her to ropes. Good thudding right hands pitched to the flat Cox midsection - Jenny banging away on the ropes for the first time, using her open-palm left to shove and prop brunette. Down the stretch, shovelling rights amidships have Court in a bad way: Jenny able to turn into that biting BSE hook, take Courtney clean on her chin and drop her to all fours. Cox up quick, but swaying, blinking - she's hurt and Jenny knows it.

R9: Jenny advancing more confidently now - Cox shying away, looking harrassed. Courtney still relatively nimble, able to use the ring and keep her distance for long stretches - O'Dell patiently whittling down the canvas, using her jab to locate, then pouring her weight forward. Fight moves to the Cox corner directly above Taylor as Jenny applies murderous pressure late: O'Dell just squared away, letting her hands go as Courtney earmuffs up, rolls and twists in the pocket. Bell: Jenny winks at Taylor, bringing colour to furious Cole's cheeks - Cox looking disheveled, badly used and out of breath for the first time.

R10: Cox basically vacating the ring - very leggy, bounding and loping well out of range as crowd boos. Jenny stalking, reaching to get her jab on Cox, forced to hop and pounce a bit herself in order to cut the ring off. Sporadic exchanges see Cox attempt to hook belly or breasts, then clinch: Jenny placing hard right hands into Courtney's midsection and batting blows upon either flank has her brunette mouthbreathing. Rest of the way simple blonde pursuit - Jenny rolling Courtney up on all fronts - Cox electing to run rather than go out on her shield. Comes back UD10, Jenny O'Dell.

After: Worrisome moments late as Cole and Jenny exchange words, but it's sorted out by cooler heads. O'Dell vexed by Cox's quickness and accuracy, but proving a little too big and strong to be threatened by the lightly built brunette. "She's tough," Jenny acknowledges in post fight - squinting in sunlight as she speaks. "I'd say she's probably stronger and sturdier now than she's ever been. I felt the bite of her punches, but I wasn't really ever hurt - she's just a very tenacious, speedy, experienced fighter and you've got to be on your toes to beat her."
