Old story: retired Locklear coaxed back into the ring by the lure of glory and money—she would receive precious little of either in suffering this ignominious first round waxing. Few now recall how Heather burst onto the scene in her late teens, charging off the set of “Dynasty” to shake the pillars of Celebrity Power by challenging the likes of Farrah Fawcett, Victoria Principal, and Jane Fonda. Dim memories indeed as the Heather Locklear who soaked up this beating bore no resemblance to that brash, lithe, young wildcat.

Keira did it with hooks: splendid, lanky-limbed, whip-mitted series of ‘em upside Heather’s head, spilling the creaky blonde along the ropes and busting her open at the hairline. More hooks followed as Heather lolled dazed in her corner—Keira up on her toes, torquing her whippet frame into the shots, lashing the left fist over and over at her cringing, helpless foe. Locklear sprawled to the mat, rolling to her back all tender an still, her eyelashes fluttering in rapid KO REM sleep, her lips parted, fists still stacked in ready position at her stomach. Hooting celebration from Keira left many in the audience cold: it seemed wildly inappropriate, all things considered.
