Before: Carmen reportedly sparring 100 hours for this fight—she definitely does not want to get embarrassed by giant killer Dani. Carmen does more things well than most, but Fishel’s flair for the dramatic seem to have spooked the champ. “I’m not going to let her breath,” Carmen promises in pre-fight. Electra in purple two-piece aerobics wear, zipper to a high neck; Dani in teal sports bra, grey cotton stretch shorts.

R1-4: Carmen showing Hamed legs, Mosley hands as she controls each and every round with punishing combinations inside and out. Coming forward, Carmen comes over the top with curling right hands, moving backward, Carmen swats with a rising left uppercut—palm up—Dani just can’t get the upperhand. Not that Dani’s not competitivein these rounds—several rimes she corners Carmen and beats her sides with churning lefts and rights, but it’s Electra who is dictating pace—Dani is following and reacting.

R5: Shutout out Electra, Carmen with her hands low, spends the first couple of minutes leaping in, swatting a power shot, then turning Dani with a hand on the shoulder and a bullfighter’s sidestep. Fishel looking a little shopworn, taking big shots flush on the face for the first time in the bout. In the final minute, Electra focuses on Dani’s brown gut, jerking the short left hook into the pit of Fishel’s belly, while gouging at the kidney around Dani’s left arm with spanking rights. Dani can’t get off, and her legs tremble as she wanders back to her corner at the break.

R6: Dani landing her hardest punches as she shoulders up on Electra, landing satisfactorily to the taut gut of Carmen with both fists. Electra busting Fishel up with the uppercut inside, spins and walks Dani with clouting straight arm, left and right counters as Fishel stumbles forward. In the final minute, Electra lands her signature uppercut from the knees into Dani’s stomach, straightening prettily to smile as Fishel crumples. Dani holding herself, leaning forward, is swatted silly as Electra left pesky lefts and rights into Dani’s mouth and breasts to the bell.

R7: Dani yet to win a round as Carmen widens the gap. Electra sweeping into Dani’s midsection with right round punches, bodies up and gets her hips into short left and right uppercuts, slicing into Dani’s lips and cheeks with a smile. Electra shoving Dani into her own corner, directly over very concerned cornermen and beats her body mercilessly, shoving Fishel back with the forearm and torquing with the torso to rip the left hook. Fishel shocked with pain, can’t respond, standing and wobbling to her croner as her little body soaks up unacceptable damage. Carmen with a squeal of triumph at the bell, thrusts her fists in the air and struts back to her corner as Fishel swoons in hers.

R8: A battered Dani Fishel refuses to submit, coming out to body up on Electra and beat the brunette to the belly with compact lefts and rights. Carmen leaning in, letting Dani get off, but midway through the round, Electra gives a little shoulder, turning into a clipping left uppercut/wife right hand to Dani’s chin and Fishel drops to her backside. Carmen taunting, is pushing by the ref back to a neutral corner as Dani struggles to beat the count. Fishel glassy eyed, hands low, meekly accept Carmen inside and Electra pushes Fishel once again into her own corner for a humiliating one-sided beat down. Carmen with clubbing double right hands on the jaw sets up those digging left hooks to the midsection that have Dani shouting in pain at the bell.

R9: Carmen stepping confidently in, bending at the waist, putting her shoulder on Dani and letting Fishel punch early, but closes the door after the first minute with slick combination punching and angles inside. Electra pushing off Dani, puts 2 and 3 curling punches together, watching with fascination as wobbly Dani soaks it up and comes back for more. Electra using her shoulder well inside, moving her head in close to Dani’s  body, making Fishel miss with the constant, subtle movement, then coming out of the crouch with banging blows from weird angles. Carmen with that sweet uppercut to the belly stacks Dani up on her toes at the bell, grinning as Fishel sucks wind helplessly.

R10: Dani just won’t quit, finally winning a round as Carmen is caught a little unprepared. Dani, face swollen and sore, comes out weaving left and right, bringing wide swinging blows in behind her motion to the body. Electra standing in as she has done all night long, doesn’t punch back, and Dani turns it up. Midway through the round, Fishel has Carmen hurt to the body, and a snapping left hook off the temple sends Electra reeling back to the ropes, Carmen sitting on the ropes, counters desperately, lifting her palms-up uppercuts from both hands into Dani as Fishel mounts a determined series of attacks along the ropes. Dani finishing up toe to toe, shoving and slugging Electra on the ropes to take the round. Unfortunately for Fishel, Carmen takes the other 9 to win going away.

After: Devastating performance from Carmen Electra, who heaps as much physical destruction on Dani as she has ever suffered at the hands of another woman. Jantzen title finally retained by a champion, and Electra looks like she’s finally approaching her potential with this sustained dominance over plucky Fishel, Complete fight from Carmen, breaking the opponent down early, hurting her consistently in the middle rounds, and beating Dani to the point of a stoppage on several occasions. Fight broadcast on MTV and featured in heavy rotation for the next couple of weeks.
