Before: Packard ping-ponging between divisions - startling success against Dushku tempered by a sobering stoppage loss to thrilling Eva Longoria - now she's in against another bantam icon in Hu. Kelly favoured: she's the bigger, quicker vixen in the fight - less conventional but no less adept - it's hard to give Packard the benefit of the doubt.

Lemon bikini top, red trunks, tight ponytail Hu - black bikini Packard - small gloves both vixens.

During R1: Hu defending at the ropes bobbing rapidly at her waist - Kelly's shredding her early. Packard with sharp, tomohawking overhand rights, jagged rising lefts - tagging Hu back o' the head, cheek, chest and tummy - Kelly getting nicked, touched up more than she's used to early. Hu slides to her right ropeside: Packard steps-with, taps out a locating belly-jab, scores again with right hands upstairs against normally elusive Hu. Hu tries to clinch, put a big bantam body on Kelly - Packard hooks her tummy, bumps a veteran shoulder into Hu's teeth and drapes back on strands with a puzzled expression. Another right hand, ANOTHER! Packard snarling, getting off hard, clean, scoring shots - Hu visibly disconcerted. Hu hand position: right at her chest, left across her tummy, trying to upper-body finesse Packard - not working as KP romps to a first round shutout, cracking Hu suprisingly crisp en route.

R2: Hu forced to come forward and attack: Packard's first round blitz causing amendments to the Hu fight plan. Kelly spritzing jabs, body and head - Packard's turn on defence - blonde has just about as much luck as Asian fists penetrate, tag chin, cheek, chest and tummy with deft, rapid swipes. Kelly slipping and rolling, trying to pivot out of harm's way and stay in the pocket, but Hu too quick: brunette raking blonde in combination, hopping to the right, opening up fresh angles - Packard under constant, withering fire. Kelly P beaten pillar to post, proving up her chin credentials as Hu lands gaudy double straight hands and carving hooks up top. Bell: Hu's eyes flat with hate, nostrils flaring - frazzled Packard straightening up off the ropes, glaring back in kind.

R3: Hu jumping in with lead hooks - startling Packard - as Kelly P's leaning back, Kelly H lunges in a payoff cross and SPREADS PACKARD ON HER BACK! Packard down in a blur or swiping lefts and rights - she rolls stiffly up off right hip, brow frowning with doubt as HU POURS IN! Unusually aggressive Kelly Hu, showing no respect for blown up flyweight - Asian feathering jabs to get Packard bobbing, then darting straight right hands to face and skull with eerie accuracy. Packard finally admitting she can't bamboozle Hu, throws caution to the wind and SLUGS HER WAY OFF THE ROPES! Rapid, batting lefts and rights as Packard thrills the audience with sudden violence - Hu forced to back up in her closed stance, bending, leaning from the hips to slip. Packard's small mitts sounding out hard, moist cracks against Hu's golden belly and ribs - now HU stands her ground, snarling, answering back. Torrid two-way - classy technicians unleash inner beasts to subjugate the other with leather - heated give and take roars to the bell and beyond as ref jumps in.

R4: Hu closed stance - jabbing to the body, pivoting left around a quick hook up top: Packard rotating clockwise to negate the left, keeping hands high, eyes locked on Hu's as cobra/mongoose look develops. Packard not getting off, but managing to block or evade effectively - sliding footwork economical, dragging that front foot, easing backwards on occasion, but never off balance. Hu carrying the round with aggression, but down the stretch she's careless. Asian jumps in a lead hook, turning too far with the motion - Packard ducks under it, answers back a biting hook on the left eye and a CLANGING right hand clean behind the ear as Hu's temporarily out of position. KELLY HU IS HURT! Hu stagger-stomping around with a dazzled expression - hands outstretched in plaintive gesture - Packard jumps in and nails a straight right flush to mouth, puts another one in there to chase Hu to ropes. Kelly sets up over Hu's left shoulder: short hooks on mouth to brush Kelly back, RIFLING right hands over Kelly's low left. Hu stunned, gobbling hooks and crosses - Kelly turning over a VICIOUS right hand tonight - bending in with her, getting body and shoulder behind it and POUNDING away on that left cheek. THE REF JUMPS IN! Hu swaying helplessly, staring bleakly from the impact of Packard's searing right hands - TKO4 Kelly Packard as Hu breaks down into bewildered sobs.

After: Hu openly distraught, pleading with the ref and ringside officials - she feels it's a quick stoppage. Give Packard credit tonight - she upped her volume to baffle Hu's slick defenses, she showed a good chin taking some clean Hu shots and she showed tremendous heart in climbing off the canvas for a win. Hu simply unprepared for the kind of resolve Packard brought to the ring tonight: blonde converting some naysayers with another scrappy upset victory at sub120.
