Charlize Theron vs. Gena Lee Nolin (II) 15-July 1999

In the aftermath of Kiana Tom's heartless dismantling of Nolin, money surges in on the Theron's side to make her a comfortable 3-1 favorite in this one. Gena Lee's always been a one dimensional slugger, but that one dimension involves looping right hands, something Theron has proven susceptible to in the past. Theron with a well-rounded, all-court game, can wear Nolin out, or take her out - it all depends on which Charlize shows up. Round 1: Theron starts with the stick, stepping left and poking Nolin with jabs, but Gena is only thinking 'hurt' with her right hand cocked. She rocks Theron half way through the round with a sharp a sharp right counter over Charlize' jab, and is able to land several plowing blows to the head before Charlize can clinch. Theron stays composed, gets her legs back, and out-boxes Nolin the rest of the way - round goes as a draw as both women stick to their game-plans.

Round 2: Charlize takes a page out of Kiana's book, ripping hard left hooks to the body from outside. Nolin can only cringe, covering up and taking as Theron plies her sides and midsection with thumping shots. Charlize turns Nolin, hands on shoulders, and begins chipping away at the Baywatch blonde. Nolin can't get off, her feet constantly shuffled and Charlize puts a nice beating on her opponent with very little cost attached. Shutout Charlize.

Round 3: Nolin reads the body attack and both girls punch simultaneously. Gena's right hand finds Theron's chin before Charlize' left finds Nolin's gut - and THERON IS HURT! Charlize tastes the full leverage of Gena's lanky right hand and is wobbly butt as Nolin loads up. Gena Lee batters Charlize to the ropes with swinging LEFTS AND RIGHTS TO THE BREASTS, eager to punish the stunned blonde as Theron's eyes go glassy. Charlize slides along the ropes to the corner, taking huge right hands off her face and head as her hands wander low to protect her puppies! Theron wearily pushes Nolin back, but Gena feels it, and comes wading in again with wide lefts and rights. Theron's form is shot - her head jolting back and forth as the blows pound her helpless and THE FIGHT IS STOPPED! Gena Lee squeals in delight jumping away as the referee gathers a battered Theron in his arms. Stunning TKO3 upset as Nolin overpowers the former welter champ.

After: Huge career win for Gena Lee, who batters Charlize into submission with a devastating brawling attack. Theron is heartbroken with the loss, calling it one of the worst of her career. Nolin suddenly on the A list with the triumph.
