Pre-Fight:

“Elyse has been out of a commission ever since her little pathetic stable failed,” says Milana. “A stable that she was supposed to be the captain of. A stable where she carried a losing record. A stable where she lost to me. Now she’s homeless, a Free Agent and it’s tough being a Free Agent! I should know… but anyway, my last win was against Elyse. And my next one is about to be too. Enough said.”

“Look, I know what everyone wants to talk about,” says Elyse. “I’ve been away since The Comediennes shut down and I’ve had no news leak out since then. But I’m fine with that. As far as being signed goes… who knows? All I want to do is fight. I was upset that my rematch against Billie never happened and there were some other fun fights we were planning. But sometimes life hits you hard. I’ve been away training to hit even harder. So I’m not here to talk trash on Milana. I’m here to show that I’ve improved over the last few months since I fought her.”

R1: It’s almost been a year since these two fought and as the bell rings they waste no time getting into the action. Elyse moves well, maybe even better than before. She ducks and weaves around Milana’s jabs. Showing off some improved mobility. Whatever Elyse has been doing, it looks like it’s working out well.

Elyse’s familiar potent jab finds her way past Milana’s guard. That left hand cutting through the larger woman’s defense like a hot knife through some brie. It’s enough to get Milana on her heels and throw a desperate right over the top. Elyse dodges it and spins away. The crowd gives an “oooh,” as they are not used to seeing Elyse move like this.

The round begins to tick and Elyse hasn’t been touched yet. Meanwhile she’s landed well over half of her punches as her jab continues to make a mess of Vayntrub’s face. Elyse throws another nice combo, but Milana clinches and then lands a few rights to Elyse’s ribs when they break. The bell rings and Elyse is wincing a bit, her hand massaging her ribs a bit. Whether it’s because she hasn’t been properly hit in a while or she just got a reminder of Milana’s power, nobody knows. But Elyse almost escapes with a clean round.

10-9 Willems.

R2: Elyse’s side seems fine as the two fighters meet in the middle of the ring again. Elsye’s jabs continuing with precision. She’s hitting her mark, snapping Milana’s head back over and over again.

Willems controlling the pace, but then she gets caught with an uppercut. Milana presses forward. Elyse tries to clinch but gets a left cross instead. Now it’s Milana who has taken control of the pace.

She has Elyse on her heels. She smacks a few more blows to the blonde’s torso as Elyse keeps her guard up. Elyse on the ropes and Milana is pounding away at the stomach. The tiny blonde is trying to stay standing as she throws a combo to disrupt Milana’s momentum. It works and Elyse escapes back to the middle of the ring. Milana comes charging, but Elyse simply evades until the bell rings.

Milana takes round two wide, evening up the score.

19-19.

R3: Milana smells blood in the water. She remembers her last fight with Elyse Willems. Just throw pure power at her. She comes in with a haymaker early, but Elyse’s improved mobility causes her to miss. Elyse is barely dodging the blows, but she is dodging them. Ducks. Lean backs. And she’s following them up with impressive quick combos.

The blonde featherweight never danced this much before, but she seems to be in much better shape. She’s dodging everything Milana is throwing at her and responding with effective one-twos in response. Elyse isn’t even bothering to target the body. She seems fine with just racking up points.

Milana getting desperate now and it shows. She’s reaching. Lunging. She’s off balance. She’s fuming as Elyse has picked her apart and as she drops her guard down to gear up for a big right hand Elyse sticks her with a right cross. Milana is stunned!

Elyse comes in, just racking up combos with her quick hands. Her jab makes a cut over Milana’s eye. Milana with a desperate uppercut that Elyse leans away from and follows up with another right cross. Milana bounces into the ropes and drops to the canvas!

The ref comes in. Milana pushes herself up onto all fours, but can’t get to her feet in time.

Elyse Willems wins via KO3!

Post-Fight:

“Obviously it was disappointing, what kind of question is that?” asks Milana. “No I’m THRILLED to have been beaten by that little blonde stick. I’m THRILLED she got revenge on me. I’m THRILLED that she’s been a Free Agent for all of two minutes and she already has a win as one… get out of here!”

“Look, I don’t want to point fingers but… I had a trainer who I don’t think was working me in my best interests,” Elyse says. “As you can see I’m in much better shape, I moved around a lot. And look, I get it, Milana isn’t Kate Upton. But she’s a tweener when it comes to weight classes. She definitely has more power than me and that’s what I’ve struggled with in the past. I’d love another shot at Billie Eilish. Jenny McCarthy and I have a history. Lia Marie-Johnson. I wouldn’t say I’m on a revenge tour… I just want to prove that while I may have a few losses that doesn’t mean I’m outclassed and not deserving of a look by a stable. I mean, maybe I could even be Rachel Brosnahan’s GBS debut fight. Who knows? I fought a lot of fights in 1 year and I love fighting a lot, but maybe there was some burnout near the end. I still want to be an active fighter… I just want a shot to showcase my abilities again. Hopefully tonight was the first step towards that.”
