Before: Losing to Theron gets Gershon another big money date—this time with tough Jen Lopez who says she wants the comp…but it’s funny how Gina never used to get a look until she got beat. Gershon still one of the best technically, but experts wonder whether the edge is gone after one of the most poorly managed careers in history has seen her rarely in the spotlight. Gina with the game to control Lopez—IF she can take the punch. Black jogbra, grey cotton.lycra aerobics bottoms for Gina, royal blue two piece aerobics gear for Lopez—still going with the ersatz blonde look.

During: R1: Staredown a classic with both girls going forehead to forehead during instructions. Not the opening Gershon was looking for as Lopez STORMS the brunette’s ribcage with withering body attack from both fists. Gershon hunkering down, arms in, hunched over, just trying to turn with punches as Lopez digs away. Jen with her forehead on Gershon, bangs on the arms and waistline exclusively, and peels away at the bell with a cocky-sweet smile.

R2: Gershon getting her legs into the fight, bouncing on the balls of her feet, pre-empting Jen and mixing things up with the occasional sneaky lead right from the outside. Lopez closing to bang the gut in the final minute as Gershon sits on the ropes, soaking up shots to the bell, and conserving energy.

R3: Lopez re-establishes the ground game, POUNDING up the middle, and continuing to rub heads on the inside. Jen’s fists smack loudly against Gina’s arms and midriff in short bursts of activity, then Gershon will step back and rip a short uppercut or hook before Lopez bodies up again. Brutal inside warfare, leaves both women looking bruised asnd sweaty at the bell.

R4: See saw action sees the pendulum swing back Gershon’s way. Boxing smart, stepping around the opponent, Gershon works a stiff double left hook, short right hand routine that pounds Jen’s face puffy this round. Lopez coming forward, not moving her head as much as usual, and is catching clean blows as a result. All even on the cards after 4, as neither woman can dominate.

R5: Gina wins a gritty fifth, continuing to pound out combinations at medium distance, then pulling Jen into a clinch for the break. Lopez falls into the pattern of catching and allowing the hold, and wades in to punishment through most of the round. Bell sounds as Gina beats a tune on Lopez’ face, stunning the Latina at the end with a crisp three punch combo.

R6: Gina steps out and showers Lopez with batting b=combinations, really opening up and letting her hands play all over Jen’s upperbody with smacking impacts. Suddenly, with Lopez hunches over and talking—Jen uncoils out of her crouch to blast a short left hook off Gershon’s cheek and drops the stunned brunette to her back with a crash. Gina up at 8, and rubbery legged, desperately goes to the ropes to cover up. Jen Lopez hands out a dreadful beating as Gershon does a good job moving her upperbody, making Lopez miss the head, but paying as fearful price in the body as Jen twists her solid trunk into banging left hooks to the waist, Shutout for Lopez, who can’t resist hitting after the bell as Gina looks woozy,

R7: Shutout Gina Gershon, Gina answers a lot of critics with this effort, coming back strong despite having absorbed a terrific beating in the 6^th. Gershon’s combinations starting to take a toll as Jen can’t seem to get out of the way, blundering uncharacteristically into 2 and 3 sharp cracking blows to her face, Gina bodying up now punching, pulling Jen into a clinch, then pushing the blonde off to punch on the way out. Masterful performance and Lopez wears a discouraged expression at the bell.

R8: Gershon goes to Lopez body, trading hooks inside, and surprises Jen with a left to the waist, left to the face combination that has Lopez reeling at the midway point. Lopez shakes it off, and comes back with digging left hands in behind Gershon’s elbow, muscling the brunette to the topes at the bell. Jen’s eyes badly swollen after 8.

R9: Lopez continues to walk through Gershon’s punishing combinations, and not doing much when she gets there. Gina tying Lopez up, stepping to the side, and continuing to bookend the Latina in the exchanges. Lopez frustrated at the bell as Gina steps away with a saucy bounce in her step,

R10: OH GINA! Jen Lopez comes out flat footed, almost resigned to her fate and takes a brutal beating from Machine Gun Gina, Gershon banging Lopez head with double left hook, then stepping into that short right hand to the face that jams Jen’s head backwards with sudden impacts. Gershon steps to the left behind a withering hook to Jen’s flank, then it’s back upstairs as weary Lopez pivots to square up. Gershon drilling the right, backs Lopez to the ropes and has her way to the bell, and in the final minute, it’s a mugging. Jen pouting, looking battered, allows herself to be shove-and-slugged up against the ropes, Bell sounds to a cry of triumph from Gina who thrusts her mitts into the air as a shell shocked Jen Lopez staggers tearfully to her corner, Unanimous decision Gina G,

After: Stunning upset as the Slugging Machine Jen Lopez is taken apart by a very methodical and hard nosed effort from Gina, Gershon winning 3 of the last 4 rounds broke Jens heart down the stretch, and the uncharacteristic give-up at the end really has many questioning whether Lopez may have been a flash in the pan all along. Remains to be seen whether this impressive victory will pay off for Gina as much as an impressive loss would have.
