5. Main Event: Alexis Ren vs Miranda Kerr (Lightweight)

Alexis:

Miranda:

BEFORE:
Last on our fight-card for the evening sees two top Lightweights who haven’t faced off in the ring before. Given their age difference, one can understand why: Alexis a full 13 years younger than the Australian veteran model, but one can’t deny that once upon a time, Kerr was also on top of the world and the stuff of legends, doing photoshoots for everything from Victoria’s Secret to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

“Hmph. She’s old and washed up,” Alexis, however, assessing her opponent tonight in the most succinct manner. “She might have been Lightweight champion and the Ice Queen once before, but that was back then when she actually mattered. Who’s she beaten since then? Bar f*cking Refaeli?”

Alexis certainly not mincing her words, but you can tell that the pressure is on the blonde Vixen’s shoulders as she tries to make a comeback here after her most humiliating defeat at the hands of Alyssa Lynch. Not to forget as well: Ren’s challenging for the Ice Queen title at the end of February against someone who’s beaten her before: the mighty Anllela Sagra. She needs a win here in order to legitimise that claim to the crown.

Miranda however scoffing when she’s asked by a reporter whether she sees a little bit of Alexis in her when she was younger. “Not one bit. As far as I can tell, she’s a spoiled brat who can’t seem to hold her temper together, and that foolishness has cost her plenty of matches in the past. She’s competing against a true former champion tonight, so I don’t think she has a chance in hell to survive in there against me, or let alone Anllela.”

Miranda living to regret her words when it’s time for the face-off at the podium, when Alexis simply marches straight up to her and delivers a tight SLAP to her face for her hurtful comments! OUCH. Miranda stunned for the briefest of moments before LUNGING fingernails back at the young, upstart girl, looking to get even with a rough whap across the face as well. But Ren already laughing and beyond reach, the ring officials barring the way for both girls to get their hands on each other. Save it for the ring, ladies!

Alexis dressed in her lucky red swimsuit, black gloves on and hair tied into a battle bun. Miranda in pink bra and panties, raising a white glove to acknowledge the cheers of her fans. Referee wants to get this fight started for real, so HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
It’s an initial wild brawl that takes place in the opening seconds, with Alexis the first one to stick a straight hand into Miranda’s face, and the Aussie model returning the favour immediately with a stiff jab of her own into the nostrils. And just like that, this fight is on! Girls continue to hit the facial features or smack gloves into the ears once they establish a bit of distance, but it’s tit-for-tat so far in this contest, with both ladies not willing to back down. Last minute and predictably, they end up in a clinch, with Alexis tying up hands around the middle of the brunette’s back, squashing her body against Kerr’s. But Kerr pulling the blonde inwards as well, snaking arms around the neck and looking for leverage to punish the younger woman. Referee is the one who has to separate them when the bell rings, and it’s a far-from-amicable separation at that, with girls roughly shoving off of each other and scowling, before returning to corners.

ROUND 2:
Miranda starting to move like the veteran fighter she is, leading Alexis inwards like a trapper waiting for her prey. But Alexis ain’t some stupid animal to be led around - she’s clearly aware of Kerr’s intentions, firing punches at her head but never getting close enough to truly endanger herself. The end result is Miranda getting herself frustrated as the Vixen’s jabs are landing on her cheek from afar, but her own power hooks are lacking accuracy and missing Ren entirely. Looks like she has to find some other way to trick the Vixen to make a mistake. Final minute sees Ren backing away, surprisingly. Miranda decides to advance, getting in some last minute shots to the body before the bell rings on her too early. Ren must have predicted that she’d taken the round regardless, which she does.

ROUND 3:
There’s a reason we’ve scheduled this fight as the main event, folks, and the girls demonstrate why they belong in this timeslot with some excellent first minute action: Miranda playing it dangerous and charging straight at the blonde. Ren not used to others being more aggressive than her, at first having trouble fending off the rapid shots flying at her face. But soon enough she’s blocking and deflecting Kerr’s attacks with ease, or at least the first wave of them, and even manages to stick her own hand into the model’s nose repeatedly. However, once the second minute rolls around, Kerr succeeds in getting inwards too close, slams a left clean into Alexis’ face just as she was scooting backwards. The shock of the blow STAGGERS Ren quite badly, sending her keeling off to one side before she loses her balance and DROPS down to her knees, both hands hanging onto the top rope in desperation to stay afloat!

Good lord - already?? It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Miranda Kerr in only the third round! Kerr fans on their feet at this remarkable feat, and Ren of course blubbering and scrambling to get back up. Her face has a permanent scowl on it as she tries to ignore the screaming fans who are congratulating her opponent on this cock-up. Ren getting back up by the count of 6 though, so no real damage done… we hope.

Kerr still smirking as the round resumes for the final seconds. Alexis not taking any more chances and staying the feck away, whereas Miranda eager to give chase and win this round in decisive fashion. But Ren not to be underestimated either - she protects her face well in the last minute, using those long legs to establish sufficient distance.

ROUND 4:
Alexis more embarrassed than anything as she storms forward and looks to take the brunette down this time. Miranda fighting back equally hard, throwing plenty of punches into her guard, but Ren keeping her head low and keeps coming forward, smacking gloves into the Aussie girl’s torso before banging hard on her forearms, trying to break it. Miranda unwittingly getting herded into the ropes from the sheer force of will, and with nowhere left to go getting her body beaten on from the sides as Alexis huffs and puffs. She tries to surge forward for a clinch but suddenly TAKES a well-timed uppercut into the chin, knocking her head and stacking her up into the ropes! OUCH. Alexis rocking her one more time to the face and DOWN Kerr crumples, her back sliding down the ropes and eyes fluttering as she pools down at Ren’s feet!

KNOCKDOWN for Alexis Ren: promised revenge in consecutive fashion!

Alexis can’t resist the urge to taunt her fallen adversary from above, yanking on Kerr’s dishevelled hair and scolding her for being so weak. Referee breaks up her fun, however, herding her back to corner, and finally starts the count. Kerr dazed but the numbers booming loud and clear in her ear suddenly give her the surge of energy to spring into action. She climbs back up to her feet by the count of 7, and mind you, it’s still only the fourth round and we’ve already gotten ourselves two knockout attempts, folks! What’s gonna happen in the second half of this fight?

ROUND 5:
Ren storming in good and early, hoping to put Kerr away for good this time. But Miranda having recovered enough to predict her charge, keeping her own feet moving fast as she exits out of the way, and fires jabs back at Ren’s direction. Alexis shooting in punches of her own, but getting incredibly frustrated when Miranda’s long jab also penetrates and lands on the lips repeatedly. This was supposed to be a cakewalk for either lady, but it’s soon dawning on them both that neither of them are dead sheep, and both still have plenty of fight left in them.

ROUND 6:
Miranda slowing turning up her own brand of pressure, especially with Alexis beginning to slow down here. It starts off subtle: jabs poking at the eye, both girls taking steps forward and then back, hounding each other over the course of the first two minutes Ren no longer seeking a script and rushing in to finish, knows that her time has come and went to score another decisive finish. This leaves Miranda with sudden longevity and she suddenly surges forward to get back into the lead. Aussie bombshell pushes Alexis back like a demon being exorcised from a wound, ramming fists into her body before mixing it up with hooks blasting into her arms. Alexis left gasping and clinging onto the top rope when the bell rings, one hand clutching at her midsection as she stumbles back to corner in tatters.

ROUND 7:
Alexis in trouble again as she looks like she didn’t factor in her opponent’s punching power into the overall equation. She dodges one lunging swing, but gets hit by another to the side of the head, and suddenly it’s beginning to look all downhill for the bright Californian native. Miranda trying to pin the lanky girl to the ropes, staying on top of Ren and not allowing her to slip away, before jamming more fists up into her tummy and almost guaranteeing her demise. Boyd bellowing from the apron, shouting at his girl to get the f*ck outta there. Ren has other plans, ducking under a sudden hook before surging outwards and clinching arms under Kerr’s elbows and just above the waistline, doing damage control as she tries her to pull Miranda close and tight with an embrace. But the plan doesn’t really work, with Kerr continuing to plunder the blonde’s body underneath with swipes of leather, but at least Alexis remains standing when the bell finally rings. Kerr blowing her foe an air kiss as she turns and heads back to corner, earning herself another deep scowl from Ren. But at this point, if that’s all she can do, she can scowl all she want - Ren needs to dig herself out of this slump, and fast.

ROUND 8:
Alexis ending that last round panting for breath and allowing her opponent to have free reign with her. In between the rounds has Head Trainer Steve Boyd pounding on the ring apron and trying to talk some sense into Ren’s face in order to wake her up and get the hell into the winning mood. The last place she wants to find herself is in close quarters with such a dangerous opponent stacking her up. Bell rings and Kerr still mercilessly coming in hard fast, sensing the end, keeps shooting hands into Ren’s body, before targeting her face with deadly hooks. But Alexis also swinging back in between, in fact taking her trainer’s advice and weaving that upper torso much more flexibly. Alexis catches Kerr flush on the cheek once or twice, shocking the Australian and throwing her off balance. And suddenly the crowd is loving this rapid turn of tables as both girls go to town on each other in the center of the ring. But Ren surviving the onslaught and paying her opponent back with interest, rocking the jawline with another snap uppercut that seals Miranda's fate. Brunette grunts as she goes stumbling back, losing out on the violent exchange. Ren looks to rush in to finish this but is unceremoniously stopped by the bell again.

ROUND 9:
Round 9 and it speaks to the caliber of both these ladies for pushing forward thus far. Still, they aren't superwomen either, and find themselves panting hard at this point and stumbling out of corners. Miranda with her mouth hanging open as she eats another one-two combo straight to the middle of her face, Ren suddenly shocking her like that out of nowhere. She wobbles slightly again when Alexis repeats the move to the body and chest. A hard swing from Kerr misses entirely with the blonde swerving luckily in the right direction, and suddenly, Ren executes a right cross that POWERS through the guard, slamming into the face and taking Miranda OFF her feet!

Miranda hitting the canvas hard on her back, and it's the third knockdown of the evening, and maybe its last! Ren more relieved than spending energy gloating this time, raising a weary hand and trudging back to corner. This fight has surely tested her more than anything else she’s faced so far, and it shows.

Kerr however struggling as badly to recover from this second setback, still left gasping for air on the ground as she fumbles with the ropes, but fails to make it back up to her knees as the 10-count passes her by. Ren’s ordeal is OVER!

Official Decision: Alexis Ren defeats Miranda Kerr via KO9!

AFTER:
Ren looking both relieved and elated, a familiar smirk on her face back in full bloom as she faces the crowds and sticks out her tongue, as though her confidence was there through this entire ordeal.

Kerr still scrambling about on her tummy, managing to pull herself up and sitting with her back against the ropes, her chest heaving like she’s been through hell and back.

Both girls deserving a standing ovation from the gathered crowds after putting on one hell of a show that saw nine rounds of action and three knockdowns total.

But ultimately one girl has to prevail, and she’s not shy about making her superiority known clear as day. Ren rocking her jawline with a sudden knee lift thrust upwards, dazing the Aussie girl somemore, before grabbing two fistfuls of her hair and forcing her to look up at her victor. Ren spitting down more venom, and the microphones are too far away to hear the vitorol, but Miranda’s too knocked out to register anyways. A final slap to the face sends Kerr sprawling back down on the ground, where she’s finally attended to by a host of medics and personnel.

Ren cementing her place forward at the end of the month, now brimming with newfound confidence as she faces another brick wall in the form of Anllela Sagra. Can she defy the odds a second time round? Stay tuned to find out!
