Nashville held up this fight for some time, wanting to put the bigger, stronger, younger Sara Evans in with Jewel - but KruZher negotiating skill prevailed, finally coaxing rugged Canuck Wright into the ring. Best known for effectively retiring the legendary Tanya Tucker in a wild Honky Tonk bare-knuckle brawl - Wright was seen as a durable, aging cougar with a pleasing, come-forward style designed to make Jewel look good. Krusher expectations were upheld on the night, but not without some thrills along the way. Wright in pale blue bikini; Jewel in pink bikini.

Rd 1: Said thrills came early as Wright busted a series of brawling right hands upside Jewel's head, driving the blonde windblown to the ropes and setting up a bump-and-grind first that saw Kilcher forced to slug for her life from the strands.

Rds 2-3: Wright's ferocity spilled over into the second when she rushed Jewel to the ropes and worked her over bell to bell and continued two-thirds of the way through the third when Kilcher's fists finally came alive. Trading lefts and rights toe to toe, Kilcher finally got to Michelle's chin with authority, beating Michelle to her knees and palpably changing the tenor of the bout.

Rds 5-8: For the next 4 rounds, Kilcher would steadily assault Michelle all around the ring, walking Wright down, beating her religiously to the body, clubbing her about the head and shoulders whenever she tried to back away. A last-gasp 8th saw Wright throw in the last of her fading reserves and in the ninth, Jewel Kilcher wouldn't be denied.

Rd 9: Blonde simply marched to brunette corner, pushed and palmed a shabby Michelle Wright upright and began bombing away strapping lefts and rights. Michelle faced into the punishment, hands at her stomach, staring bleakly until the lights went out. Wright collapsed to her face a minute in as Jewel stepped to the side, brushing hair off her face and contemplating a job well done as Michelle lay still. KO9 Jewel!
