Before: “Too Sharp” Pinkett a long time Latina-assassin, fighting on-televised smokers out of the L.A. Forum for years—she’s a bad little woman who knows how to fight. Shakira with her work cut out—she’ll have o be the new and improved version to handle both the style and power of her confident foe. Pinkett in her “pinks”—pink push up bra and panties, black shoes, Shakira in pale blue bikini top, white bottoms, black shoes, ponytail.

During R1: Spirited frame—women meeting up midring and going to work liker pros. Shak dukes up, bobbing and weaving, attacking Jada’s waist with chopping rights and lefts. Pinkett pointing the right shoulder at Shakira, setting up southpaw, right across her body, left at her cheek—she’s flat footed, easing in and out from her front foot to her back, slinging power shots from either hand. Even till late-Jada steps out and seems to be walking away—sudden stroking right hook catches Shak on the temple. Little Latina surprised, shook up in the keg—she staggers back to the ropes with a smirking Jada in strutting pursuit at the bell.

R2,3: Jada dominant, outclassing Shakira, breaking her down in hurtful rounds for the Latina. Pinkett flat footed, striding in, but supple at the waist, changing distance by leaning in or out, getting elastic leverage on slinging lefts and rights out of slightly crossed arm stance. Pinkett bouncing her fists off Shakira’s head, easing to the right, slipping and getting underneath Colombian’s responses. Jada enjoying extended sequences with Shak’s back at the ropes—Pinkett going to the body with bandy-armed gusto, stroke-stroke-stroking lefts and rights up into ‘Kira’s ribcage as the blonde covers up.

R4: Pinkett rocks Shak a straight left out of the southpaw stance early—sending Latina stomping back on her heels—Jada following up with a walking beating, stepping and stroking her punches against Shak’s flanks and skull. Colombian retreating around the ring, but down the stretch, she steps in, trades rights on the chin with Jada, puts the hook on top and has Pinkett stumbling backwards for the first time in the fight. Shak storming forward, pitching leather—Jada retreating in good order, batting punches out of the air as she tries to recover.

R5: Jada stepping to a spot, dipping her shoulder and lashing up into Shakira’s body—gorgeous, crippling body shots have blonde bunched up and hurting. Second minute—Jada pivoting to her right, walloping away right hooks against Shak’s left ear—clocking multiple connects put Shak woozy on one knee as Pinkett steps in close to stand there all strong until the ref shoves her back. Ropey punching Jada to the bell as she cleans up—Pinkett stepping her girl back, slinging away and lopping her shots with loose limbed power, clouting and welting a beleaguered Shak about the body and head. ‘Kira busting up, eyes swelling, looking forlorn—she’s taking a beating through 5.

R6: Back to back shutouts Jada and she’s not pitty-patting her punches—she’s stroking Shakira thunder as the crowd oohs and ahhs upon shattering impact. Pinkett walking Shak down, hands nice and loose, slight crossed arm stance as she gets close, then twists her hips to sling’em in, Shak ramshackle, not answering back—she’ll cover up as Jada delivers, shipping to the body, getting whacked upside the head, then stumble away to regroup. Colombian almost off her feet late as Jada sets down and clangs away right hooks against the jaw—Shak just taking around a stubborn guard as legs tremble at the bell.

R7: Jada marauding, able to stroke and lash her opponent, slash away body and head, walk her down as Shakira blunders into grudging retreat. Pinkett so loose and relaxed with her delivery, slicing the blows in—crowd pleasing connects on the jaw swivel Shak’s head, sending sweat and eater flying—thumping rips in the body crumple the blonde forward, stiff and responsive, All Pinkett till late: she’s slinging away side to side—Shak finally times a blunt right hand bingo on the mouth and DROPS JADA TO HER BACKSIDE! Pinkett up eyes blazing, pushing against the ref to resume before the 8 count and ROARING two way trade brings the crowd to its feet! Girls just leaning into each other and hauling brutal leather on target and JADA BACKS UP! Pinkett getting caught flush about her face and shoulders, bludgeoned into the ropes—Shak pinning her ears back and fin ally getting the better of things head to head.

R8: Shak with a nice follow up—Pinkett boxing more, showing the jab, stepping out and walking around to the right with glaring looks. Shak pursuing with a stubby stick, finding the short right hand up the middle with jaw-jarring force—she’s got Pinkett looking befuddled at times, just laying in after contact and letting Shak clean up. Shutout Shakira puts a smile on that battered Colombian face—6 minutes left to fashion a miracle rally.

R9: Jada takes it all away. Shak wants to rumble—Jada expertly walks the blonde into numbing body shots in the first minute, stepping back, roping rights and lefts up into the breadbasket and ribs—Shak cripples, whimpering after the first minute. Jada taking her time—Shak’s bent forward, dukes at her cheeks, elbows in—Pinkett paws the righty jab, stamps the straight left between the gloves and spanks Shak’s head back. Right hooks and uppercuts start to flow off the pounding straight lefts—Shak’s face going blank from punishment, eyes dimming—she’s just leaning forward, staring into disaster as Pinkett slides back, pivots to the right, keeps Shakira stumbling forward. Down the stretch, Pinkett looming over the doubled-up blonde—Jada lets her hands go in bandy-armed stream of withering hooks and crosses—finally mopping yup a digging right behind the elbow which sends Shakira sobbing to one knee. Jada lifting her mitts and standing right there, grinning down—ref pushes her away as little Shak struggles to her feet,.

R10: Shakira showing guts, taking advantage of Jada’s disdain to get cheek by jowl and trade lustily o the ribcage in the first minute. Pinkett’s cowling as Shak lights her up downstairs—Pink steps out, backhanding that right jab off the hip to reset on the outside. All jada the rest of the way—using the jab to position Shakira, dropping in the odd spanking straight left to belt Shak’s face back pretty—Pinkett closes the show punching as she circles counterclockwise, heaps some home scoring blows to the bell. Comes back UD10 wide, Jada Pinkett.

After: Shakira battered wreck—eyes swelling to slits, nose and lower lip bleeding and that midsection’s not in great shape either—Jada putting it on Shak for 10 long rounds with pretty consistent thumping. Shak with her moments—hurting Jada in the fourth, dropping her in the 7th—gutsy blonde performance in a losing effort shows the pride and heart some had been questioning this year. “I’m all about beating up girls who want to come get some,” says Jada in postfight, “Shakira—you know, she came forward, she wanted to fight and I respect that—she don’t run when she starts getting hurt. If you all pretty and clean after a Jada Pinkett fight, you know you fought like a little punk—I like that Shakira is willing to take what’s coming.
