Before: Sophie Marceau bout falls through, but Maria gets an even bigger pay day against A Big Blonde American. Cucinotta built up as a very dangerous foe, but she’s looked good beating up Italian game show hostesses and beach bunnies—Theron a real step up in class. Maria not impressed, talks the talk by challenging  Charlize to stand and fight—it’s latin taunting at its descriptive best in pre-fight.

During R1: Charlize not taking the bait early, stepping around her more flat footed foe, sticking the jab and tasking a look from outside. Cucinotta catching to the face, seems unfazed, stalking her blonde prey and hurling right hands at air throughout.

R2: Charlize closing, working in behind her jab, then getting to the brown midriff of her foe with spanking hooks. Cucinotta taking the shots well, counters with short right hands to the head as girls trade, but down the stretch, a banging double left hook to the jaw has Maria stumbling. Charlize with a nifty straight right hand, knuckles squaring up on Maria’s chin puts the brunette on her butt as the crowd goes wild. Cucinotta up at 8, dark eyes flashing, but she’s bullied to the ropes and battered at Theron swings away to the bell.

R3: Charlize a little lax this round, not punching at the right time, allowing Cucinotta to get off and land some scorching right hands wide to the jaw. Maria banging with Theron, has the blonde backing straight up, and Cucinotta shows good form, stepping with the blonde, and punching wide with right hands to keep Charlize on her heels.

R4: Charlize back on her toes, makes the fight easy when she boxes. Cucinotta outclassed, often waves Charlize in to slug, but Theron stays composed., content to peck away and move side to side in front of the brunette.

R5: Fight breaks out as the girls trade bashing licks to shoulders and heads from power punching distance. Midway through the round, Cucinotta lands her first right hand ton the point of Charlize’s chin, and the blonde buckles backward to the ropes. Cucinotta bodying up, is very rough with Charlize, shoving the brunette back with elbows or shoulders, and slugging between the hips to force the blonde gurgling forward in pain. Cucinotta with a very late uppercut rocks Charlize back after the bell, and draws a warning from the ref, which she haughtily disregards with a toss of her black locks en route to her corner.’

R6: Cucinotta punches with Charlize and catches the blonde a sweet lead right hand on the chin to send Theron stumbling sideways. Maria swinging left and right, forces Charlize to the ropes, bludgeoning with wide blows to the blonde’s midsection as Theron sucks it up. Charlize showing good composure, blocks Maria’s shots on the ropes, then spins out of trouble. Theron boxing sweetly the rest of the way, hooks the jab to savage Cucinotta’s bustline this round with cruel intent.

R7: Maria is till forcing the fight, Theron on her heels, looking more like runner than a boxer this round. Cucinotta not as fleet of foot however, has trouble squaring up and landing clean. Maria takes the round with aggression as Charlize recuperates.

R8: Maria now walking Theron down, working left to right as she pounds away at Charlize’ ribs and defenses. Theron looking sluggish, covers up much of the round, letting the brunette get maximum leverage on her slugging blows. Cucinotta lifting Theron onto one foot with body shots, has the blonde panting by the bell.

R9: Theron grimacing, but still sharp with the jab, and she picks Maria up as the brunette comes in with a beautiful lead right on the teeth. Cucinotta stunned, nearly flops to one knee, but instead stands and takes a shattering 3 punch combination to her face as Theron gets off, gets out. Cucinotta cut in the mouth, stumbles after Charlize, who inexplicably circles , moving away rather than pressing the hurt brunette for the KO. Maria survives, pumps her fists at the crowd at the bell as Theron looks almost discouraged at her opponent’s resiliency.

R10: Charlize doggedly hooks to Maria’s rib cage, but the slugging soon goes Cucinotta’s way as the brunette’s right hand crashing repeatedly to Theron’s face. By the midway point, Charlize is gradually beaten down, and gorgeous smashing right to her eye has her swooning. Maria bodying up, pushes Theron to the ropes, holding the blonde with

The left while clouting her across the mouth with cave-woman right hands. Charlize out on her feet, lets her curvy legs and indomitable chin take over as her senses take a leave of absence. Cucinotta punched out by the final minute—fight ends in a weary waltz as the girls grapple, strain in one another’s arms to the bell. Long delayed decision comes back in favour of Theron, drawing boos from the pro-Maria crowd.

After: Theron in a tough test in unfriendly confines, comes through with typically gritty effort, Maria on television in the States for the first timer, showed a tremendous attacking élan, but lacked the class to her bring her skills to bear whenever Theron boxed, Good showing from Maria none the less, who has a field day slandering Charlize in the following Maxim spread—saying she was never hurt, Theron ran the whole time, so on and so forth.
