BEFORE: It's perhaps a mild surprise these two redhead veterans haven't fought before but the time has come for Cassidy Freeman to test out Christina Hendricks' skill set. Hendricks has finally put the Sofia Vergara rivalry to bed and looks forward to her first fight in 17 months while Cassidy acknowledges her elite spell might well be over at this stage of her career. However she's still up for a good scrap and believes she can ring Christina's bell loud & clear tonight!

Cassidy Freeman wears a black sports bra, matching hotpants & red gloves. Reddish auburn hair tied in a braid. Christina Hendricks wears a silver sports bra, red hotpants & silver gloves. Carrot red hair loose & straight with bangs. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
Christina is thirsty for some boxing action and dominates the early spell thumping crisp punches into the fellow redhead's face. Cassidy tried to take it easy at the start but she's forced into a slugging response that doesn't exactly suit her approach which allows Hendricks to extend her jabbing advantage. She beats Freeman from both flanks and sinks her on her heels before a looping cross on the brow ridge makes the younger actress squeal in discomfort. Hendricks cranks up the jabbing volume again and backs the subdued Cassidy onto the ropes where the Lioness redhead must clinch her foe in order to avoid more trouble.

Round 2:
Another high-flying jabbing start enables Christina to dominate the early action while Cassidy's response only matches the fellow redhead's intensity and provides status quo with the bout being fought on Hendricks' terms. The older woman drives quick half-uppercuts between Freeman's guard and backs her onto the ropes but the former welterweight champion escapes the trap and finds some respite in mid-distance. However Christina makes her look very sluggish and keeps coming forward to the point Cassidy has to rely on her defensive circles instead of maybe lashing out at the fellow redhead. LCA head trainer Claudia Schiffer doesn't like this performance at all but Hendricks maintains the agressive dominance for remainder of the round even though she doesn't punish Freeman beyond the limits anymore.

Round 3:
Christina squares up to Cassidy and bangs her on the breadbasket but the phone booth approach results in some very blatant clinching as Freeman tries to stall the action and halt Hendricks' aggressive blast. The older redhead struggles to punch herself out of this stalemate at first - and she gets no help from the referee either - before a nasty shot on the jaw finally wobbles Freeman backwards. Both veterans trade head shots from afar thereafter and allthough Christina maintains the aggressive tactics, she begins to lose precision and skims off Cassidy's forearms too often. She eventually gets blasted over the top as Freeman rallies late with her best spell of the night that nails Hendricks on the jaw a couple of times and makes her gurgle in pain upon impact.

Round 4:
Cassidy begins to dominate the counter-punching drill and beats Christina for shear aggressive value in the opening minute. The hitherto dominant free agent begins to lose her steam and suddenly bails out of the successful strategy when she gets scythed across the lips a couple of times. Freeman follows through and bursts into her jaw with a vicious left/right combo before knocking her onto the ropes with a shot on the left temple. Hendricks loses her footwork and slumps on the ropes; she fails to escape the Lioness rush and gets blasted on the mouth again as Cassidy cranks up the point-blank range volume that forces the older woman to clinch her in the closing stages.

Round 5:
Christina thinks better off it and for once refuses to rush her slugging drill only for Cassidy to whack her with a booming right hand on the nose instead! Ugh! There's a small gash ripped across Christina's nasal ridge and she's stunned to eat more wild hooks into her mouth that suddenly turn the fight on its head! Freeman rolls back some years and devours Hendricks with some brutal head shots that destroy the older redhead's guard before a left hook on the ear DROPS CHRISTINA FOR THE COUNT!!! Uh-oh!!! How about that! Christina stumbles onto all fours and tries to shake off the daze; she gets up at seven but looks woozy regardless yet she's ahead on points after all so here we go again! Cassidy wrenches her on the wounded nasal ridge and pounds her onto the ropes where Christina's high-guard collapses wholesale and has Freeman carving additional bruises into her opponent's face! AND THE REF STEPS IN to save Hendricks from getting blow away into the orbit!!! TKO5 Cassidy Freeman in come-from-behind fashion!!!

AFTER: Talk about snatching victory from jaws of defeat! Cassidy looked completely lost during the first three rounds where she struggled to embrace Christina's slugging efforts but still came back to stop the menacing cougar! This would have never happened if she battled one of these lanky models several years her junior but match-making wins you fights in first place! Cassidy might not be a true elite contender but she's still gonna beat up some of these veterans alright! 

Meanwhile Christina should be kicking herself for losing this fight is such terrible fashion. You don't blow a 30-27 lead on the cards that easily! Perhaps getting the better of Sofia Vergara was the redhead's high-water mark after all. The only way is down?
