CELEBRITY BOXING AFTER DARK

Bailee: 21 YO 5’6 (1.65 m), 1-6-0, 1 KO since 2017 Foxfire Boxing

Kiernan: 21 YO 5.2 (1,57 m 2-2-0, 2 KO since 2019 Unmanaged

Before: Nobody at Foxfire Boxing is admitting it, but looks like a change in strategy in regards to rookie Bailee Madison has occurred. Here she is at C-BAD fighting against smaller flyweight Kiernan Shipka.

“Kiernan is young, aggressive and she’s going to be a handful for me, but I can take her,” Bailee declares. “I’ve been trying different fight genres, different opponents, I think it is very healthy for someone at the beginning of her career.”

Kiernan shrugs: “It will be the same old story: Bailee Madison finishes the fight kissing the canvas yet again. It will be especially sweet for me, because I’ll have taken out a bigger opponent. Now that’s the kind of career boost I could use now that I’m on my own”

“You’ll be the one kissing the canvas,” snaps Bailee, but Kiernan just smirks.

“We’ll see,” Kiernan says and saunters away leaving Bailee looking most displeased.

The fighters are next seen entering the ring and doffing their robes. Kiernan is a dark/light blue one piece with dark blue boots and gloves (light blue Laces). Blonde hair is pulled back in a perky ponytail. Bailee in a bright purplish one piece with white gloves and boots (purple laces). Bailee’s dark hair is in a battle braid down her back. Both young fighters look eager to go and the preliminaries are quickly covered. They tap gloves and depart for their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Kiernan showing she’s not intimidated by Bailee’s height advantage. She moves in close and drives her blue mitts against Bailee’s torso. Bailee fighting back, trying to push Kiernan back with hooks into the smaller fighter’s body. Kiernan not backing down and keeps up the body pressure by giving Bailee’s breasts some hard shots. Bailee giving it right back to Kiernan, but then Kiernan slips in a surprise uppercut that catches Bailee under the chin. Bailee lurches back seeing stars as Kiernan presses forward with a fresh burst of body punching. Bailee shakes off the chin shot and stabilizes behind her own body counters, but Kiernan able to pull out a close round on the cards after the bell rings.

R2: Bailee attacks Kiernan to the head as soon as she can get within range this round. Smacking rights and lefts to the head. Kiernan obliged to cover up and try to respond with her jab. Bailee now shifting her leather to working over Kiernan’s body again .Bailee showing special attention to hammering Kiernan’s rib cage. Kiernan hunched up, but she is still fighting back and resisting Bailee’s efforts to force her into the ropes. Bailee looking dominate to the bell and winning the round easily.

R3: Bailee looking very confident as she comes bounding out for the new round. However Kiernan is out fast and moving straight at the taller brunette. Bailee looks to be winding up he right hand for a blockbuster shot, but Kiernan suddenly lunges forward and brings a crushing right uppercut in under Bailee’s chin. Bailee is hit hard! Brunette stumbles back with her arms flailing uselessly. Kiernan smashing rights and lefts into Bailee’s jaw and then doubling her up with a deep hook to the belly. Bailee’s butt smacks the ropes as Kiernan swarms her with a a storm of leather. Bailee manages to cover her head but she is getting worked over hard to body. Breasts, ribs and belly all getting hit over and over again. Bailee manages to brace herself and stays up through the avalanche, but when the bell rings Kiernan has won this round in a shutout. Bailee looking understandably shell shocked as she leaves the ropes and trudges slowly to her corner.

R4: Kiernan heads out quickly as Bailee shows a defensive look with her mitts up around her head. Kiernan goes after Bailee to the body, but Bailee counterattacks with some surprise shots to the blonde’s jaw. Kiernan has to take a step back. Bailee cautious about following up and Kiernan quickly able to counter with a lightning hooks to the belly that tips Bailee forward with a gurgling groan. Kiernan then tries to bring uppercuts into Bailee’s overhanging upper body. Bailee falls back, but jabs back fiercely as Kiernan tries to move up. Two are firing away to the body as the round draws to a close. Kiernan Shipka wins round, but Bailee’s come back from that shutout to make it a close stanza.

R5: Out the two fighters come. Kiernan looking to go to the body once again, but as she leans in, Bailee is there to swivel her head with a big right to the jaw and then a matching left to the jaw. Kiernan now falling back on shaking legs, trying to protect her head, while Bailee is now giving Kiernan’s torso a thorough washboarding. Kiernan now staggering as Bailee able to clip her hard to the chin with two uppercuts that slip behind Kiernan’s weak high guard. Kiernan nearing the ropes, trying to jab Bailee back, but Bailee relentless in her attack and finally gets Kiernan into the ropes. However Kiernan has managed to use up a lot of time and doesn’t suffer much while pinned against the strands before the bell rings. Still, Bailee has won the round wide and left Kiernan breathing hard as she returns to her corner.

R6: Kiernan launching counterattack as the new round begins. She is out fast and going for Bailee’s head this time. Bailee swatted early to the side of the head, but fires back with straight right that smacks Kiernan hard between the eyes, Kiernan frozen momentarily and Bailee adds right/lefts to the jaw to send Kiernan in a rubbery legged retreat. Kiernan trying to protect her head as she falls back and Bailee going to the ribs and belly with a storm of leather. Kiernan now driven hard into the ropes and Bailee leans into those abs crushing hooks. Kiernan writhing under the bombardment AND KIERNAN”S KNEES BUCKLE! Bailee steps back as Kiernan topples forward and crashes hard to the canvas. Bailee trots to the neutral corner and watches anxiously as the referee starts to count over the fallen Kiernan. Kiernan trying to rise, pushes herself up on her forearms, but then shudders and falls back.

“EIGHT!....NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

THE WINNER: BAILEE MADISON DEFEATS KIERNAN SHIPKA KO6!

After: “I said she’s be the one kissing the canvas—and that’s just what happened,” Bailee Madison gloats in the post-fight. She also can’t wait for Kiernan to be revived before swooping in to take Her on a walk of shame. Kiernan sullen as Bailee pulls her along, her right arm hammerlocked behind her back, and Bailee stopping to pose for triumphant photos.

“Big deal,” Kiernan says later, “it may sound like sour grapes, but she was the one who was supposed to win this fight and she did. I would have liked to pull off the upset, but it didn’t happen—this time.”

Bailee shrugs when she hears about this comments: “She’s right: she does sound like sour grapes, but, hey, the grapes I’m tasting are really sweet. I have my second FCBA win and nobody can deny that!”

It took Bailee Madison a while, but she has that elusive second FCBA win. Skeptics will note that she was fighting a smaller opponent, but Kiernan Shipka was no cupcake. Kiernan stood up well to the bigger Bailee, but Bailee just kept coming and she finally knocked Kiernan out. Bailee and Foxfire’s new strategy looks to be working, at least so far, but she’s going to need more wins to look like a contender at bantam. Meanwhile, Kiernan Shipka can hope her efforts against a bantamweight will get her some action in her accustomed flyweight division.
