Thanks to Ginny for this repost.

Jewel boxing's most improved fighter - she's even money with the ultra-slick superstar at most books and a lot of people see an Alba-esque beatdown in the making here. Angelina reportedly wearing out her tapes of Kilcher/Alba I and II - sinewy, wiry brunette with a lot of the same looks as Jessica, but backed up by a much harder heart. "After I'm finished carving on Jewel," Angi says, pausing for a nonchalant sip of water, "people are going to think I've just butchered a pig in the ring. There is no way in hell Jewel Kilcher steps to me and works me over the way she did Jessi. No way in hell." Kilcher in navy bandeau bikini trimmed in white, tight battle bun - Jolie in black Got Milk ad/Tombraider bikini, long battle braid.

During R1: Jewel advancing behind her frame defence: right away Jolie's southpaw angles look to be disorienting the blonde. Angie sliding oily to her right, turning Jewel's left flank, suppressing Jewel's jab with a tangy right poke constantly at the face. Jolie stepping to spots, turning on her straight left - she's threading sharp punches in between Jewel's mitts, startling blonde, breaking up Kilcher's attack. Jewel looking to bludgeon Angie's skimpy arms and ribcage - getting some hefty shots in, but nothing consistent: Jolie boxing beautifully for points in the first.

R2: Same again. Jolie not running: she's just sliding to her right, always aggressively in range, taking some body blows as a result, but she's drilling away to Jewel's face with both hands. Jolie's right jab a greasy stinger - Jewel not seeing the punch well, seems surprised when it fits onto her eye or pops her in the mouth. Angi stepping and spotting that harsh straight left - stabbing it between Jewel's jugs, drilling it up the middle to bang back Kilcher's face. Jewel trudging through it - she's coming forward strong, not getting as much on Jolie as she'd like, but the night is young. Late the round, Jolie biting her right hook off Jewel's temple - AJ tightening up that stroke and scoring a vicious elbow against Kilcher's brow on follow-through - Jolie immediately reprimanded as Kilcher's put wobbly-butt via the foul.

R3: Some thudding ribwork done by Jewel, but it's spotty, often as Angi's sidestepping - Kilcher not able to line Jolie up and pummel her the way she did Alba. Jolie's eyes so cold, hard - she's just popping the jab, stepping, turning Kilcher and looking for spots to drop the left hand in. Final minute, AJ getting that hesitation left FAT on Jewel's lips: crowd shouts as Kilcher soaks up Angi's hardest shot AND WALKS RIGHT THROUGH IT! Jewel bleeding from the nose, stung, but easily gobbling Jolie's most ferocious leather in the third. Jolie repeatedly warned for elbowing off her hook: Jewel's tender brow, left shoulder the recipient of these heartless strikes.

R4: Jolie outclassing Jewel, but there's suspense: how long can Angi keep her back off the ropes and keep Jewel at the end of those punches? How long can Jolie maintain the punch output and intensity that so far has Jewel under wraps, but hasn't moved the blonde back one inch? Kilcher pawing her jab rather than snapping it - she can't find Jolie and it's making blonde rangefinding tentative. More smooth boxing points for Angelina - best she's looked since pounding Demi Moore some years back. Krusher corner working hard to keep those elbow-smash cuts from becoming a problem - Jolie getting the most out of her skeleton tonight.

R5: Shutout Jolie - Jewel taking everything thrown her way, but she's clearly a confused beauty. Angelina keeping her lead (right) foot outside Jewel's lead (left) foot, stepping sinewy counterclockwise - Jewel rotating-with, not cutting off the ring - again, she's obviously uncomfortable with the southpaw. Jolie's jab finding it's way past Jewel's defenses the way we haven't seen an orthodox fighter do - Jewel's left eye lumping up nicely, nose bleeding freely, starting to become an issue. Jolie landing the straight left into Jewel's mouth and jugs, occasionally staying in there on her right foot and doubling up that poke to startle Kilcher. Jewel crouching, inching forward, keeping her dukes up, but not getting off - she's resolute, but Angelina's systematically winning these rounds wide.

R6: Jewel landing glancing blows off Angi's shoulders - just a smidge out of position as Jolie's uncanny instincts keep her safe from flush contact. No such luck Jewel: she's gobbling; she's munching; she's soaking up Jolie's sock. Jolie showing good composure - she's pasting Jewel and Kilcher's still coming: a lot of girls would lose their nerve or get frustrated, but Angi just keeps executing. More slick points for Jolie - corner rubbing out her wiry thighs during the break, asking her how she feels - "I feel great," Angi says, "I'm loving it on her."

R7: Angelina pulls out all the stops - tears into Jewel with renewed, KO-vigour. Hard spanking double left hands up the middle, pounding back Jewel's face. Stinging-rebuke jabs, busting up that left eye, closing it. Slicing righty hooks from the southpaw stance - Angi turning her sleek frame into the slash, clouting the side of Jewel's head. Kilcher put wobbly butt at times, but able to absorb the heat - blonde shipping a shellacking in hopes of scoring one big blockbuster at this point. Frustration late from Jolie as she steps right, licks a lanky left hand against Jewel's trunks, clanging temple the biting right hook: Kilcher groaning, doubling up hurt, but refusing to back up. Bell: Jolie finally breathing hard, mouth open, eyes glaring - Kilcher all busted up, wearily defiant. Final indignity: Jolie abruptly turning away, whiplashing that long braid across Jewel's battered eyes. Cry of outrage from Jewel as she covers her eyes - ref instantly issues an unrepentant Angelina a warning for 'braiding'.

R8: Angelina pouring it to Jewel, but the intensity is slowly fading - Jolie stick and moving, placing her left hands with cruel precision, but Jewel finding it easier and easier to walk through them. Blonde simply not moving her hands and the reason is Jolie's sharp southpaw angle - Jewel just can't find a geometry that will work for her through 8.

R9: Jolie visibly slowing now - shrieking pace all night long settling into those trim gams, making Angi just a touch more available. Jewel able to step over for the first time tonight and square up in spots, banging away lusty to either flank and shoulder - forcing Jolie to ropes. Angelina pressed hard at the apron - gritting her teeth as she ducks and rolls, then clinches before Kilcher can really wind up. Jewel takes points, utilizes her strength for the first time tonight as Jolie goes almost purely defensive.

R10: Jewel coming forward with renewed confidence, despite the fearsome face-pasting she's taken tonight. Jolie mouth breathing, unable to sustain the pace any longer - she spends more and more time against the ropes, looking to roll, dip and grab Jewel up in bony clinches. Kilcher's jab finally a factor - she's pounding it to Angi's chest, shaking her, getting the fat right hand wide to the body, clubbing the hook to head and shoulder. Jolie slick - she's taking the edge off Jewel's thunder, surviving in the pocket, clinching for breaks. Uppercut for Jewel would be nice, but she's not seeing it - she's just belting away side to side, getting thick and big on Jolie. Kilcher working hard, but she just can't find the off switch as Angelina goes into survival mode. Jewel takes the 10th - Jolie the decision.

After: Jolie's wide points victory seen as a watershed for division boxers - smooth bantam cuteys like Hu and Alba have had a tough go at the ham-hands of bullies like Jewel this year: is this a turning point? "I didn't really think of it in those terms," Jolie says of her cool triumph. "I broke Jewel down on tape and understood that I simply couldn't give her the things Jessica did and hope to survive. I was dead tired late from carving her up all night, but she had nothing left - I'd taken everything away from Jewel at that point and I knew she couldn't hurt me." Kilcher heartbroken - been a long time since somebody's outclassed her like this. "After those wars with Neve," Kilcher explains, "I have to admit, I thought Jolie would be a cakewalk. She's not a strong puncher, but I couldn't see her shots very well - she's a lot sneakier and cuter offensively than Alba was. You know - I definitely want a rematch sometime. I feel like I ran out of time tonight - the clock beat me - Angelina was just there when it happened."
