Dani seems unruffled as a superfit looking Eliza Dushku appears opposite her at the weigh-in, even when Eliza pokes an admonishing finger into the little bit of padding at her waistline. Dani just smiles mischievously:

“This isn’t a posing contest, though I have to tell you most guys prefer a little meat on their women’s bones.”

She’s asked about her KO2 loss to Jenny McCarthy: “I hadn’t fought her before, frankly she surprised me, but I feel I know Eliza much better, even though it’s been 5 years since our last bout. I watched some tape and I don’t think she’s changed all that much.”

Asked about rumors that her trainer Nia Peeples hasn’t been happy about her training, Dani grows defensive: “Nia and I are getting used to each other. There is bound to be some conflict. She’s used to training rookies, not someone has experienced as I am, but I do respect her. We will work it out in time.”

(Standing just off-stage with Nia is Dani’s auburn-haired Foxfire bantam stablemate Rachel McAdams, she has her arms crossed and a stoic look on her face. Rumor has it she thought she should be the one fighting Dushku, but the promoters preferred go with the long-time rivals Dani and Eliza. However when Dani makes her remarks about Nia, Rachel rolls her eyes and shakes her head in disapproval. Nia Peeples says nothing, but her lips form into a hard, straight line. If Dani Fishel notices these reactions, she makes no outward sign of it).

As for Eliza Dushku, she stands at the podium and looks down at Dani with faux-disapproveal.

"I would have thought getting worked over by Jenny Mac would have knocked some sense into Fishel's head. Yet here she is, looking like ahe spent her training camp at McDonalds. Well, if that's the way she wants to do, I'm here to teach her the lesson again. I have my own agenda anyway: to get back in title contention where I belong. If kicking Dani's plump little bod will help get me there--I couldn't be happier."

Dani's lips form into a hard, straight line, but she remains silent as though ignoring Eliza's taunts.

In the ring, Dani is in her gun metal blue bikini with white gloves. Her long dark hair is gathered into a loose braid. She is smiling confidently and waving to her many fans. Eliza, looking equally confident, is in one her trademark red leather bikinis with red gloves.

R1: Bell rings, and the two fighters come out. Eliza immediately goes to the body with a couple of nasty hooks into the meat of Dani’s tummy. Dani replying with her short stubby jaw, but Eliza’s bouncing around, moving her head and the jabs not landing well. Eliza begins to circle Dani and she’s really shooting in the punches. Dani’s head is driven back a lightning quick combinations to her chin as Eliza gets in over Fishel’s high guard.. Then she hooks in under the guard to work that chin. In between, she is really lathering those soft flanks of Dani Fishel and Dani’s grimacing as the seconds tick by. Dani not retreating in the face of “The Sheriff’s” fire, she keeps stubbornly coming forward, jabbing persistently and looking for openings. Unfortunately, Fishel’s punches don’t seem to be slowly Eliza down and soon she is chasing the nimble Dushku who never relents on her body attack except to smack hard ones into Dani’s chin. Then the frustrated Dani tries a sweeping right aimed at Eliza’s head, but Dushku blocks with her shoulder and counters with a right that bounces hard off Fishel’s jaw. DANI GOES WOBBLY BUTT! The shot has clearly dazed Fishel and she staggers off to one side with Eliza in fierce pursuit, slamming shots into Dani’s lower back. Just as the ref steps in to put a stop to this, Eliza lands a vicious liver shot. DANI IS HURT! Dani drops to her knees in agony. Ref sternly waves a finger in Eliza’s smirking face. Dani staggers to her feet ahead of the 10 count, but she’s in bad shape. Eliza closes in forcing Dani to the ropes where Fishel can only hunch over and try to keep Eliza’s punches away from her agonized back while keeping her face in her gloves. Dani’s body takes a fearful pounding to the bell. Eliza steps back, a strand of hair has fallen into her eyes and The Sheriff blows it away with a satisfied smile, watching as Dani makes her way unsteadily back to her own corner.

R2: Dani Fishel tries to shake off the beating she has sustained in the opening stanza, but as she comes out, she is moving slowly and looks forlorn. Eliza Dushku comes out looking hard-eyed and determined. As Eliza surges forward, Dani throws up a desperate jab flurry, but Eliza brushes it aside and unleashes to the body. Lefts and rights crash into Dani’s flanks and deep into her belly. Dani hunches forward trying to hit back but her shots are weak. Eliza rams hard uppercuts in under the mitts going for Dani’s chin. They slam into that jaw with machine gun rapidity. Fishel stumbles back raising her guard only to be lathered with Dushku body shots. The guard drops and Eliza unleashes on a lightning right cross/left hook combination to the head. Dani’s knees buckle. Eliza crouches down and rams in uppercuts to the jaw. FISHEL IS OUT ON HER FEET! Dani crashes to her knees, arms limp at the her sides and then just falls forward onto her face!
Eliza trots to a neutral corner and watches with interest as Dani tries to push up off the canvas while the referee counts. She makes it to her knees, shaking her head slowly but that’s the best she can do. “9…10…” IT”S OVER. ELIZA DUSHKU WITH A SHOCKING KO2.

After: High fives and hugs exchanged among members of the Wolf Pack as Michelle Williams and Claire Danes join Eliza to celebrate. Eliza hasn’t look this happy since her last title win. Once her gloves are removed, Eliza heads over the Foxfire corner where she finds a groggy Dani slumped on her stool. Nearby are Sarah Carter, Hayden Panettiere, Danielle Harris and Rachel McAdams. Hayden and Dani Harris look to be on the verge of tears. Sarah’s face is cold and stoic, but Rachel McAdams stands there with her arms crossed giving the battered Ms. Fishel a look that can only be I-told-you-so. She then looks over at Eliza with a defiant stare. Eliza just smiles at the auburn-haired bantam and points a You’re-next finger at her. McAdams lips curl in grim smile.

Eliza then turns her full attention to Dani, who looks up at her in resignation. Eliza gestures for her to rise and Fishel tries to comply, but wavers dizzily. Eliza slips a supportive arm and props Dani up.

“We’ll try not to make this too long,” Eliza tells the Foxfire ladies, “looks like I messed her up too much to have much fun with tonight.”

Eliza then leads the stumbling, clearly groggy Fishel around the ring, waving to her fans in the manner of a pageant princess. When she gets to the HISC corner, the HISC girls drape Dani front-first against the turnbuckle, her arms hanging over the ropes as her knees have trouble holding her up. Eliza, Claire and Mish then take turns climbing the ropes so they can pose over the defeated Dani Fishel. Although it seems like a long time to the fuming Foxfire girls, it is actually a fairly brisk posing session and once it is over Eliza brings Dani back to the Foxfire corner. She releases Dani and lets her stumble forward finally collapsing into the arms of Hayden and Danielle Harris, who require the help of trainer Nia Peeples to hold her up. Eliza laughs and walks back to her own corner. All the while she is closely, but silently studied by Rachel McAdams.

“I knew she wasn’t ready for me,” Eliza tells the press later. “If I had tried a little harder I might even have taken her out in the first, but KO2 is good enough for me. Frankly, I think Fishel should have stayed retired if this is the best she can do.”

A grim Dani Fishel tells her side of the story: “I never make excuses. I lost. She won. I should have done a whole lot better. Next time I will. The FCBA has not seen the last of me!”
