Before: Classic style match up—the light hitting evasive style of Hewitt vs the straight ahead pressure of  Michelle Williams, Michelle the warrior of the two, but Hewitt a classy pupil of the incomparable Kelly Packard has all the moves—Williams will need more than heart to get it done. JLH in black bra and high-waisted panties, Williams in white sportsbra, light blue adidas terrycloth trunks.

During R1-1: Williams follows the textbook word for word, cutting off the ring on Jennifer, walking through Hewitt’s pesky jab, and banging the slender brunette to the body. Williams putting mileage on Hewitt’s young legs early with fearful punishment, and roughhouse, shoving Jen into the ropes, bashing at her ribs, shouldering her off balance, and Hewitt doesn’t like it. Nothing fancy from Williams, she’s just putting mitts on target, and bullying her opponent.

R3: Hewitt turns counter puncher, staying close to Michelle but bending at the waist or turning a shoulder to present difficult striking angles for the blonde. Williams coming forward adds power to Jennifer’s shots, and by the midway point, Michelle is taking big shots on the chin and tummy as Hewitt bobs up and down, cashing in with sweeping potshots as Michelle misses, Down the stretch, Michelle crouching forward, takes a withering barrage of slapping lefts and rights across her back, clipping her shoulders, and bouncing off her face, and Hewitt is able to produce a knockdown from sheer volume, Williams is unhurt, but getting out classed badly this round as Hewitt pulls even on the cards.

R4: Jen continues to adopt a counterpuncher’s posture—Williams accommodating by plowing ever forward. Michelle looking for Jen’s chin is missing too many shots, allowing Hewitt to bend beneath and come back up with sweeping lefts or rights to the blonde’s face. Jen mixing it up, steps right, turns her shoulder into a sewing machine like lead right, then dipping down to escape as Williams is confounded.

R5: Jen in control now, owning the more predictable blonde with her legs, upperbody movement. Williams with her gloves high, continually turns to square up, can’t set her feet, and as a result doesn’t punch. Hewitt picking Williams apart with little 2 and 3 punch combinations, then slipping in and out to set up at another angle. Jen still popping those short lead right hands, bends in to shoulder up on Michelle, then slides out with a hand on Williams’ hip to turn her midring. Bewildering performance as Hewitt shines through 5.

R6: Williams getting back to the body, is immediately more effective, and Hewitt is drawn into a costly battle of attrition as the girls trade at close quarters. Hewitt trying to spin move, but Michelle just pushing her back onto her heels, and mugging her to the corners, Down the stretch, it’s all Michelle, head on Hewitt’s chest, fists bludgeoning away side to side at the brunette’s tight gut—and Hewitt is hurt! Jen going limp in the corner, and Williams turns it up. A quick left hand on the cheek followed by a digging left in behind Hewitt’s right elbow buckles Jen’s legs and drops her to all fours. Hewitt sitting back on her haunches, holding her side, can’t get up—KO6 Michelle Williams.

After: Great performance for Williams who stayed patient, didn’t get discouraged, and found a way to stop the more polished ingénue. Hewitt’s skills need to be accompanied by more heart if she is to realize her full potential.
