Before: Zeta Jones a much improved boxer since her last meeting with Theron, she hasn’t gotten any bigger, and Charlize was able to use her size effectively in previous bouts with the brunette. Nevertheless, Jones comes into the bout on an undeniable roll, and her camp hopes the momentum will prove the difference in this rematch. Red jockey 2-piece for Jones, blue for Charlize. Small gloves for both.

During R1: Catherine starts strong with a brisk temp, double jabbing circling left and scoring with combinations to the body and chest. Theron begins to land a good left hook midway through the round, but in the final minute, Jones with her in-and-out movement, draws a right hand from Theron and counters with a pair of sweet left hands on the cheek to put Theron wobbly butt, Charlize hurt, covers up as Catherine rips her with compact combinations to the bell.

R2: Catherine continuing to put her punches together, using nimble footwork into work inside on Theron, tattoo the body, then step outside before the receipt. Theron off to a slow start, hasn’t really moved her hands yet.

R3: Shutout for Charlize as she used a nice right uppercut inside to back Zeta Jones off, and nails the retreating brunette repeatedly with a Sten-gun left hook. Stalking round for Charlize as Catherine runs, looking to regain her composure.

R4: Catherine seems to gave up her mind to commit to the body, and she works diligently at slipping her way past he jab to rip her combinations at close range. Theron starting to cover up more, gives Catherine license to mine gold in her gut, and midway through the round, Jones has Theron staggering, Catherine stepping to the side, ripping her hooks and

Chopping her right hands, busts Charlize up, and drives her sideways to the rope with sustained machine-gun bursts of opunches. Theron coughs up the shutout, and is getting lumpy-faced through 3.

R5: Catherine continues to outclass Theron, Jones has the busier hands, the sharper focus, constantly stepping inside Charlize’ hook and banging at the blonde’s strong body, then working her way upstairs to batter Theron’s face. Jones very comfortable, rips her combinations, then takes hold of Theron’s top to tug her forward, spinning the blonde off balance and setting her up for more rapid fire abuse., Catherine pockets another shutout and after b5 rounds has a commanding lead built up on the cards.

R6: Charlize Theron steps right to cut the ring off for the first time, and she is able to walk Jones into the right hand to hurt the brunette early this round. Catherine shaken by short rights, dances away and is content to let Charlize win a round simply by beig the aggressor.

R7: More sweet science from Jones as she continues to initiate, and win the exchanges. Theron scoring with single blows, but can’t put together any sustained offence, reacting rather than taking the fight to the smaller woman. Jones working to the body with wide lefts and rights, then punching her way up Theron’s torso to smack left hooks off the blonde’s jaw before escaping for another look. Charlize looking drowsy, is tasking a psychological as well as physical beating at this point.

R8: OH CATHERINE! Jones, having worked Charlize to the body all night long, bends and feints low, but brings the right hand looping over the top to flatten Charlize’ head against her shoulder. Theron is hurt, blinking and staggering straight back—Jones pouncing forward, spearing with straight lefts and rights up middle as Theron backpedals to the ropes, Charlize wildly out of control, busted up and trying to keep her feet, is helpless as Jones rips to her gut and head. Jones pushing Theron’s arms out of the way, bends her knees and rips a triple left hook to the head, the first blow buckling Catherine’s legs, the other two draping her sideways over the ropes. Theron leaning with her shoulder on the ropes is torn apart as Jones batters her with lefts to the kidneys and rights to the belly to the bell.

R9: Catherine Zeta Jones senses victory, surging out of her corner and letting her hands go. Theron behind a stiff guard, immediately begins to shiver, getting rocked by multiple strikes to her head and body, Jones slowly forces the blonde backwards behind the sheer avalanche of blows, but Theron still composed, counters with short left hooks in between the brunette’s punches. JONES is hurt! A quick left hand on the chin with short left hooks in between the brunette’s punches. JONES is hurt! A quick right to the solar plexus, another left to the temple, and Jones is reeling! Theron steps forward, gives Jones a shoulder in the chest, then cranks a sweet left hook as the brunette stumbles forward and JONES GOES DOWN! A head spinning left hook puts Catherine on the canvas and she can’t get up! Spectacular late stoppage from Charlize Theron as she blows Jones away in the 9^th.

After: Having been badly outboxed, Theron never lost her head, and continued to work to land the big punch, finally getting Zeta Jones out of there in dramatic fashion. The win sets up a logical bout between the blonde victors—each of whom can give and take tremendous shot in what should be a terrific brawl.
