WB alumns hook up--Cox anxious to shine against the curvy newcomer. Cole with a shattering late rounds stop over Brittany Daniel in a fight the raven-haired ingénue was losing, wanted to prove that wasn’t as flukey as some are saying. Youngster’s confidence can’t be questioned--”With Brittany licking her wounds, I’m taking over around here!” Cole boldly predicted. After 10 rounds with Nikki, Cole had at ;east partially proved her point.

There just wasn’t anything to dislike about this fight. Taylor, self-obsessed and reminding many of a young Jenny O’Dell the way she threw herself at her opponent with fists a-flying, came out swinging for the head and rarely deviating from the plan except for occasional romps to jug. Cole, outgunned and worked over a little in early going, concentrated on countering to the body, keeping it crisp and clean, minding her defence up top and giving young Ms. Cole all she could ant as the early knockout failed to materialize. Cole would stagger Nikki in the third, seventh and final rounds, really finishing up strong and quite frankly putting Nikki all but out on her feet at the final bell, but credit Cox for finding a way to extend the kid. Nikki took four heats from Taylor and one of them cute: what Cox took, she earned in the form of banging waist and rib-work that frequently backed Cole to the ropes, unable to respond. Good slugging beach win for Taylor--she’s a young vixen with tireless legs and fists, a stout body, firm chin and competitive spirit.
