Nobody's stolen more Diaz heat than Theron. "When Charlize started to get hot, magazine covers proclaimed her the new Cameron Diaz," says one long time observer. "When Theron backed it up in the ring, Cameron started to fade. No question Diaz blames Theron for dimming her star."

Cameron still with sweet, gangly skills, but she's getting hit more as age diminishes her reflexes, and for all her panache, she's no more effective than the more orthodox Charlize.

Round 1: Diaz loose and lanky with hands at stomach, leaning to her left as she skips left, dropping the weird lead right on Theron's face. Dancing in with weight on her front foot to bat with rising LEFT HANDS TO THE CHEST, chop down with slinging rights, then dancing away in a serviceable Ali imitation - Diaz classy early. Theron defensively responsible, hands up, just trying to make contact with her jab and cut the ring down. Round to Diaz.

Round 2: Theron stabbing her jab to center of Diaz' chest, backing Cameron to the ropes and lashing away as Cameron covers up. Diaz with hands at her face, elbows in, she sinks into the ropes, blocking and rolling with punches, reaching out to pull down on Charlize' head and left arm, sometimes clipping back with licking counter left UPPERCUTS UNDER THE BRA, but Theron does consistent good work to the challenger's flanks this round.

Round 3: Diaz up on her toes, hands at waist level - she's got a knack for dropping punches onto Theron's face as she dances away - catching Theron coming in with exquisite timing. Midway through, Charlize pokes air with the jab, Cameron slashes a right from her thigh over the top and stuns Theron with a perfect chin shot - Theron's legs spasm as she's hurt mid-ring and Diaz takes over. Slashing combinations - rising lefts that land heel on chin, slicing right hands that pound down onto eye - Theron suffering through the blizzard stumbling forward and taking a sensational accurate barrage. Diaz keeping it on Charlize, gliding around the ring, slinging fists slicing over and under to HAMMER Theron's once-pristine face. Theron shaken many, many times in an agonizing round which sees the champ hobble forward, take punches, and not be able to do a thing about it. Scored 10-8 without a knockdown as Theron weaves back to her corner cut, hurt, and ALL messed up.

Round 4: Theron still pressing the fight, putting her jab into the center of Diaz' chest, walking the blonde down, but Cameron is eating Charlize up in retreat. Midway through another beautiful counter right - Diaz slinging it off her hip and over top Theron's jab, kissing off jaw and lifting Charlize' front foot off the canvas. Charlize hurt once again, allows Diaz to get in her limber flurries - long legs bounding in, fists slashing in blurry arcs as she PILLAGES THERON SACK, then exquisite escapes. Famous Diaz grin as she pulps up on Charlize again - Theron's face swelling badly, both eyes in danger of closing - Charlize corner protests Diaz' heeling to an indifferent ref.

Round 5: Shutout Cameron Diaz. Fans of Diaz are delirious to see her bouncing and dancing, hands low, anticipating Charlize beautifully by just leaning back and bounding out of range whenever Theron threatens offense. Diaz's slashing fists FIND THERON'S BIKINI TOP OVER AND OVER as she darts in, gets off with dizzying flurries. Theron's hands drop lower and lower, Diaz landing maybe 50% of her head shots as Theron tries to cover up and gets painted. More of that big, beautiful grin from Diaz at the bell - her face is untouched - Charlize is looking horribly shopworn in comparison.

Round 6: Diaz leaning forward with her chin out, hands at her stomach - making Theron miss with supple upper body movement, then making her pay with chopping counters from either hand. Midway through, Diaz misjudges distance, leans back with her hands down and Charlize clangs a tight hook against the chin that puts Diaz momentarily wobbly butt. Important moment for Diaz - she's hurt, stunned, but she fades to the ropes, covers up, rolls with incoming, and manages to tie Charlize up before Theron can really get it going. Final minute - Diaz back on her toes outside, flicking and backhanding her jab as she dances - Charlize grimly walking her down, can't get off.

Round 7: Diaz back in control - pestering Charlize' face with that licking, flicking jab, suddenly lashing the heel-first hook up under Theron's chin, then a SLASHING RIGHT INSIDE CHARLIZE' RIGHT BREAST LANDS WITH THE SIDE OF THE FIST. Referee issuing warnings as Diaz does hellish damage with these. Theron's face lumping up badly, defense shoddy as the sheer accumulation of Diaz leather takes it's toll. Charlize still touching Diaz to the body with her left, determined to stay in contact despite being badly out-pointed through seven.

Round 8: Carmen cycling to her left, somehow drops a lashing counter right over top Charlize' jab in mid-backpedal, stunning Theron early and leaving her horribly vulnerable. Diaz back in on that front foot, letting her long arms and hard fists wreak havoc on a shabby Charlize. Midway through, Diaz getting off free and easy - a series of heel-first left uppercut/hooks bangs against Charlize' jaw, unhinging her knees and Diaz steps back, walks Theron into a perfect straight right hand between the eyes - THERON DROPS TO ALL FOURS! Charlize trembling, her mouthpiece tumbling onto the canvas as she shudders - Diaz circles the ring with hands held high screaming "And NEW! And NEW!" as the crowd roars. But Theron beats the count, takes a seat at the ropes, stoops forward behind a weary guard as DIAZ SHREDS HER BODY with delicious slashing combinations to the bell.

Round 9: Theron's been able to touch Diaz all night and she steps in off her jab to hook with authority this round. Cameron catching flush on her chin as she leans away - Diaz refusing to lift her hands off her stomach pays the price for style. Charlize cutting off the ring, hooking off the jab, and midway through she trades hooks with Diaz, then beats Cam to a banging right on the mouth and DIAZ GOES DOWN! Cameron scooting to a stop on her butt gets up shaky, eyes staring as the ref. wipes off her gloves. On comes Charlize, putting two baseball bat hooks into Cameron's side, then leaning into a bashing right hand to the mouth that drapes Diaz hands down, shoulder first into the ropes. Diaz insensate, lolling ropeside as Charlize heaps it on! Theron chicken-winging that left elbow to prop and push with, putting bludgeoning lefts and rights together, harming Diaz' slender ribcage, then coming up top as the challenger falls apart. Cameron's head swiveling back and forth, body drooping forward as Charlize shoves and slugs with mindless ferocity - Diaz reaching for Charlize' waist, slides down the champ's body to slump to all fours as Theron steps back, fists smoldering. It's over - Cameron Diaz all used up, gasps and sobs on her knees as Charlize drinks in a KO9 for the ages.

Hard to give Theron even 2 rounds leading up to the stoppage, but the champ never got discouraged, and consistently kept her jab on Cameron's chest, never allowing herself to get out of range

. "She was quick, VERY quick early on," a badly battered Charlize Theron explains in post-fight, "but I knew if I kept touching her, kept pressuring her that I would start to find her. I was surprised when I went down, but I think it actually made her anxious to hurt me and get me out of there. That's all I needed to turn things around."

Diaz absolutely devastated by another loss to Theron, unable to accept all her good work in this fight amounting to naught. "I was beating her," Diaz pouts, "I was! I was beating her."
