BEFORE: "The dream is over," Hudgens predicts in prefight. "Things're about to get real for Ashley: the carriage is gonna turn back into a pumpkin. She's had her little run, but everyone knew eventually she'd have nowhere to go except to me or Song, and that's where the door would slam shut in her face. It's gonna be like old times: me having fun; Ashley suffering. Can't wait!" Tisdale scowling: stories of Tisdale being bullied by Hudgens and Song legendary amongst the Disney chicks...Ashley determined to cast off the shackles. "Hudgens has a lot to answer for," Tisdale says quietly at podium. "I'm not going to get into it, but rest assured, this is about righting a lot of old wrongs. Hudgens doesn't realize that I've changed and improved - she thinks I'm still the same old Ashley who used to give up her lunch money without a fight. Well 'Ness - I'm fighting plenty these days, and you're never taking anything from me again!" Tisale in royal blue Hellcats sport top; grey stretch cotton bikini-cut bottoms; small white gloves; auburn hair in perky high ponytail/bangs framing face. Vanessa in white/tan horizontally barred bikini; suede strings tying up the hips; small fawn mitts; black hair tied in beach ponytail/bangs framing face.

During R1: Ashley comes out Southpaw to murmurs of wonder...but she's been a lefty all along! Right jab more mechanically sound than her left jab had been: Ash chopping it out and down from the shoulder, keeping that elbow tucked in. 'Nessa wary, sliding to her right...she's rotating counterclockwise - keeping her left hand up to block Tizzy's choppy right poke. Girls trying to place shots up the middle - left hands for Tiz; rights for 'Ness - Ashley the only one scoring. Variety of left-hand connects for Ash this round: sliding, straight left to mouth or left side of Vanessa's jaw; rigid, scraping left against 'Nessa's right ear/cheek. Vanessa trying to shoot back her right hands - coming up a little short as Tizzy judges distance to perfection.

R2: Similar stuff: gentle counterclockwise rotation; Ashley's right hand hitting into Hudgen's raised left, or Hudgy's left shoulder; girls exchanging straight shots up the middle - lefts for Ash/rights for Vanessa. Once again, Tisdale gets the better of the hunt-and-peck potshotting - marking Vanessa smartly about her face.

R3: Hudgens adjusts. Job one: get the left jab out - even though it's blocked, now she's initiating and changing rotation in clockwise direction. Job 2: keep left (lead) foot outside Ashley's right foot. Job 3: hook off the jab - Hudgy scoring with mean little palm-down rib-chippers as she's pivoting left. All of which makes job 4 easier: place the right hand on Ashley's chin. Tisdale outfoxed, outboxed, looking startled every time Vanessa's right taps jaw.

R4: Hudgens in control with the routines established in round 3: Tisdale wide eyed, concerned, flinching and looking spooked as Vanessa scores touches. 'Ness bending at the waist, being supple as she circles clockwise: very smooth in her footwork/abrupt with her punching. Shutout Hudgens - she makes knowing eye-contact with Tisdale, as if to say: "I'm still the boss of you."

R5: Tisdale a little erratic - lunging at Vanessa awkwardly and being picked apart, or hanging back hesitant and getting touched up. Vanessa calm in her stance - suddenly opening up in combination to fend off Tisale's pounces, or patiently stalking behind her jab when Ashley hangs back. Tisdale over-reacting to Hudgens' feints...Vanessa smirking, calling all the shots through 5.

R6: Tisdale catches Hudgens a rigid left upside the head as Vanessa's pouncing in...girls stumble apart: 'Nessa appears hurt. Hudgens shaking her head, stepping in fence-post holes a bit...Tisdale quickly in to jab breasts and body, then lean into straight left hand flat on mouth. Hudgens poked hard to ropes, eyes watering: she covers up earmuff as Tisdale trots in, arching her back to cleave a left uppercut in between Hudgy's mitts. From there: chopping right hook to left ear; chippy little right uppercut mitt-splitter; swift straight left in between the mitts; chippy little right uppercut; choppy straight left...Hudgens breaking down as she absorbs face-pasting. Tisdale perky - working it from wide stance - the compact right uppercuts in concert with jamming straight lefts and THE REF STEPS IN! Little 'Nessa just sitting in ropes, staring into punches...it's TKO6 Ashley T!

After: Tisdale bounding away, bursting into happy tears: stopping Vanessa Hudgens is a dream come true. "I can't believe she quit!" Ashley gushes in postfight. "I mean - I MADE her quit - it's just so amazing. She has been SO MEAN to me my whole career...to stand up to her and finally shut her down is like...it's everything to me." Pundits starting to come around on Tisdale after this important confrontation: Ashley unpacking a lot of baggage tonight - baggage that had been holding her back to this point.
