BEFORE:
Tonight, we have a battle of generational singers on the cards as resident Dollhouse star goes up against X-factor pop-princess, Normani Kordei. Though both women may share the same interests and career path, the pre-fight press conference is a tense affair indeed, with both girls taking open shots of hostility at each other from across the table:

"With all due respect to Av - and I do respect her for what she has accomplished in the FCBA with her pretty limited potential - my BBU boxing debut was a huge success for me. I only needed TWO rounds to finish Sanderson off, who by the way, is Avril's age and had more than 40 fights under her belt. Compare that to my literal ZERO fights at the time, and do you guys see the pattern? Tonight will be no different. Everybody knows Avril is more bark than bite, and I may not have the in-ring experience that she has, but you don't need that sh*t when you're tougher, bigger and stronger. Like ME! I mean, what’s she gonna do about THESE guns?” Normani pauses to flex her biceps drawing loud cheers from the back of the room. “I plan on taking the FCBA by storm, and the first step is beating Avril’s soft ass to a pulp tonight. So get ready y’all!"

Of course, Ms Lavigne has heard it all before. If she had a nickel for every wannabe challenger who thought they could floor her in four rounds, she’d be a gazillionaire by now. As predicted, Avril rolls her eyes wide before it’s her turn to respond:

“P-lease b*tch. So much trash talk from someone with no receipts to back it up. How is she even so confident?! Has she even looked at my record?” The blonde giggles. “I wasn't taking this fight so seriously until a few minutes ago… It was honestly a match I only agreed to as like….a warm-up or whatever, for my upcoming Doll Ball fight. But… I guess I'm gonna have to make tonight totally EMBARRASSING for her now. SOMEONE has to shut that big trap of hers, right?" Avril ends with a grin after which the girls are quickly escorted back to their dressing rooms before any escalation takes place, and for good reason.

Few hours later and both ladies are ready to make their grand entrance to the ring. It’s a CBAD fight in your standard arena, and though there’s only one listed match on the card tonight, the stadium is almost full as it is, with the kind of brand names at stake here. Normani is out first through the curtains, her collaboration song with Calvin Harris, Checklist, blasting from the speakers. She’s wearing a silver-laced white bralette and black briefs, long black hair in a majestic high ponytail, waving silver gloves to the crowds as the arena goes absolutely wild for her. Normani’s American boxing debut must have had her fans flocking to the arena tonight because these cheers are off the charts! Are there any Avril fans here at all ?! Avril’s appearance is precluded by an explosion of pyrotechnics and then a shower of pink streamers, as the Doll strides onto stage in her usual black and pink sports bra and fighting tights. Her long blonde hair in a tight ponytail. We can hear plenty of boos here for the Canadian tonight and it seems like Normani did indeed have her fans flooding the arena to witness their idol boxing for the first time. This place is pretty hostile towards the 35 year old blonde but all we see is a calm and focused demeanour from the Canadian, who doesn’t take her eyes off Normani in the ring despite many of the younger singer’s fans berating her all the way to the ring.

Ladies share a 2.5 inch height difference as they meet briefly in the center of the ring, with Normani’s toned athletic body pulsing with power, which likely is giving her the confidence needed to take on a veteran fighter like Avril, who’s used to more sting-and-sing tactics. Well, we’re about to find out if youth and strength beats experience and talent, or vice versa. HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Avril actually begins the fight with an aggressive and cocky stance, knows what Normani can bring to bear but her own pride still dictating her attack pattern as she rushes in and peppers the singer with jabs. It’s a common tactic indeed whenever a newcomer meets a veteran fighter: the latter goes in strong and early just because she’s more comfortable in the ring and wants to take advantage of her opponent’s hesitancy. Normani swings big at Avril as well but it’s a rookie mistake: she can’t quite hit Lavigne even on the arms, the Doll weaving and dodging early and with ease before she plants leather back on the American’s face. Not a good sign for Kordei if this keeps up: all that big talk earlier now thrown out the window as the bigger singer can’t land anything besides the occasional hook to the arms. Avril winding out the first round with another one-two combo straight to the tummy, smirking and rudely gesturing to Normani on her way back to her corner.

ROUND 2:
Normani ain’t giving up so easily, however, rushing at Avril one more time, thinking that maybe twice will be the charm. Avril’s surprised by the early charge, fights to land her combinations on the American’s frame but also having to move out of the way of her many hooks. Kordei probably thinks that all she needs to do is land ONE shot and it’ll all be over for her foe, and she does exactly that in the middle mark, smacking a right glove clean into the side of Avril’s guard, then another grazing hook catches the Doll on the chin mid-retreat, which leaves Lavigne scooting back in shock! The Doll gets a little taste of her foe’s power, and clearly doesn’t want any more, flying backwards and then resuming the jab--jab combo towards Normani’s head to try and dissuade her from charging in full. Normani taking control of this round as a result, some of Avril’s punches stinging the nose and lips but managing to effectively counterattack with more bashes of punches back into Avril’s arms, chest and body, making the Doll wince multiple times.

ROUND 3:
Battle of styles continues as both ladies each have a wide round a piece thus far, and it’s only a matter of which girl might slip up first. Normani sticks to her strategy of all-out warfare, keeps charging at Avril and then swingin’ combos towards her head. But the rookie is expending her own energy fast as a result, and by the middle minute, can only boast about landing a stiff shot to Avril’s side and a couple more heavy-handed blows to the Doll’s arms. If Avril’s shaken and shattered, however, she ain’t showing it, with the Queen springing into action herself as she blitzes Normani about the ring, jabs stuck into the face and tummy in quick succession before more risky hooks are slammed into the arms. Lavigne definitely moving confidently, and it shows - she’s no longer afraid of getting caught by Normani’s power, not when the brunette is already moving so sluggish.

ROUND 4:
Normani is in bad shape as a result, standing up from her stool looking slightly pale and out of breath. For how fit this girl is, you'd expect her to be running circles around the Canadian right now, but not if she keeps wasting her stamina on chasing Lavigne and swinging power hooks recklessly. She’s probably been in live performance concerts which are less grueling than this rodeo, but the rookie is still lumbering forward to try and knock Lavigne down a peg once more instead of letting herself catch some needed oxygen. No dice this time round as the veteran singer leaps in repeatedly with more flurries to her head, arms, and body, driving Normani back into the ropes and then her own corner, forcing her to cover up from alternate head and body blows. Normani grunts as another straight one-two combo packs into her belly, bowling the American over for a split second - just enough time for Avril to TORQUE a right hook clean across her face! AND NORMANI GOES DOWN! Giant felled the hard way as Kordei’s legs simply GAVE way, her entire body thrown to the canvas in stunned silence! Normani rolls over onto her back, her eyelids fluttering into the ceiling lights, whereas Lavigne leaps into the air with a smirk, running back to her own corner whilst shouting, “I TOLD YA SO!?”

KNOCKDOWN for Ms Lavigne indeed - Normani still trying to sit up in the middle of the ring but she’s shaking her head delicately, as though having suffered too much already from this fight. She makes it to the ropes but has trouble pulling herself back up, and the referee’s doing his best to give the rookie a shot, but ultimately having to count the rookie out to 10! It’s all over! Ms Lavige puts Normani away in under four rounds!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Normani via KO4!

AFTER:
An surprisingly easy win for Lavigne against the tough yet inexperienced young pop star as she celebrates immediately by thumping her chest with one glove and then roaring a “HELL YEAH!!!” towards the audience with a smile. Truly an impressive display of skill and experience tonight from the smaller blonde as she smartly disposes of the physical rookie, expertly maneuvering around Normani’s power with not much to gain and everything to lose for the Canadian.

The Dollhouse Queen basks in her victory for a moment, blowing kisses at her fans before walking over to Normani's corner, intent on backing up her words of embarrassing the newcomer even further. Normani’s been brought back to life on her wooden stool but still looks absolutely stunned with her back and shoulders slumped into the turnbuckle, her sweaty chest rising and falling in rapid fasion.

Not like Avril cares, of course. The blonde singer tugs Normani by the hair - “You’re coming with me now missy!” a smug look on Lavigne’s face as she proceeds to drag the rookie singer towards the center of the ring. Normani not too pleased with this development judging by the exasperated expression on her face, merely stumbles along with her tormentress, letting out a groan as her spinning head struggles to fully comply. She doesn’t resist much either when Avril shoves her roughly down to her hands and knees, intending to take a victory pose over her defeated foe.

This is something other girls have to take into account when going up ag…..WAIT WHAT?! Normani springs to life! The bigger girl was apparently playing possum as she suddenly jumps to her feet before Lavigne knows what’s happening, wrapping one toned arm around the bewildered Doll’s shoulder, another hand hooking the blonde between the legs as she easily SCOOPS the Canadian up! The arena EXPLODES as Avril’s feet leave the mat and the victor finds herself helpless in Normani’s arms!

An impressive sight indeed! Avril’s shrieks are now echoing throughout the arena as the poor blonde squirmes in mid-air, her arms and legs flailing, trying to hammer into any inch of the rookie in order to be let go, but Normani displaying her strength here, carries the horrified Lavigne for a walk around all four corners of the ring! The crowd is not sure how to feel about this, with a mixture of boos and cheers filling the arena, with the referee now demanding Normani put Avril down. Before Avril can be helped, however, Normani lets out a HUFF of air as she brings the screaming blonde crashing down to earth with a BAM!! Avril gets POWERSLAMMED into the hard canvas, with Normani executing the move like a legitimate pro wrestler!
Oh my god!

OUCH and OUUFF! Avril’s the one who finds herself spreadeagled in the middle of the ring now, her mouth hanging open as the stunned blonde arches her back in agony. It’s Normani’s turn to stand tall over the flattened Doll, grinning and raising her hands to the audience. Avril luckily regaining her senses short moments later and has the smart sense to roll the hell away from her tormentress, as the blonde quickly rolls on the mat and under the bottom rope all the way out of the ring, landing with another PLOP onto the apron below.

Normani giving playful chase but only enough to give the blonde one last scare before backing off chuckling to herself. And thankfully, the Dollhouse crew are also waiting to save their former Queen by ring-side, where an aching Avril is helped to her feet by Kristanna Loken and the Dollhouse medical staff. That leaves Norman gloating in the ring, that smile back on her face as she waves to her many fans that came to support her debut here tonight – and they seem to have enjoyed watching the victor of this match get beat up in the aftermath!

Normani heard mouthing words amidst the cheers: “Run, b*tch!” before gesturing to the ring official for a mic and shouting into it: “Go on, run! You ran away from me the entire fight, why stop now, right Av?. She pauses, staring at Lavigne’s back from a distance as the wounded Doll gets escorted to the backstage area by her team, seemingly not interested in responding to Normani’s allegations whatsoever. “You know…I guess I let my inexperience show tonight…right? whatever.” The brunette continues. “I wasted too much energy on chasing her wimpy ass around this ring…my bad, my bad. But that won’t happen next time we meet. And then what would you do Av? What would you do?!?” Normani throws away the mic as the fans explode. She smiles, blowing them a kiss one last time before jumping out of the ring, motioning to her small team it’s finally time to go.

A disappointing debut perhaps in terms of results for this promising fighter, but many have surely seen her big potential tonight and that strength! Someone should hurry up and sign this girl! We need to see way more of her!
