BOXING AFTER DARK

Before: Biel one of the many ingénues nipping at Carpenter’s heels--Jessica looking to add to Charisma’s woes while CC needs to make an example out of the younger brunette to keep order in the ranks. Jessi a promising talent, similar build to Charisma, similar heavy handed philosophy--slight ghost of Christmas past effect for the elder beauty. Jessica in pale blue/mauve sports bra, football jersey motif--”10” stretched between her breasts, navy high cut aerobics bottoms--Carpenter in black sports bra, red high cut aerobics bottoms, short do.

During R1: Carpenter not warming up properly, comes to the ring cold and pay for it. CC striding to her right, left hand lazy and low--Jessica lunges over the top with a slinging lead right to clock face--Carpenter staggers away with a stunned expression to open the fight! Biel just loading up, swinging for the fences, long armed lefts and rights crash-landing on Carpenter’s svelte torso or bewildered face--she’s driven into the ropes, defence scattered, curvy legs propping her up as Biel has her way. Jessica with a lean, pumping delivery, cashes in with thudding left/right uppercuts to the body, or sweeping right hand roundhouses upside the head that leave Carpenter swooning at the bell. hard to imagine a worse opening for CC--she wanders in a fig to her corner as Biel can’t restrain her glee. Scored 20-8 without a knockdown for Jessi.

R2: Charisma flat footed, but clear-eyed, she meets Jessica midring and the two rangy brunettes get to work. Bouncing at close range, but not really fighting inside, both have room to pump their arms, digging and sticking their punches in one another’s bodies. it’s all medium speed, bust punching--girls able to clout each other’s jaws with flush right hands, double up on the hook to body and head--nobody hurt but both girls starting to shine up after a punch-o-meter second sets a blistering pace. A round to Biel as Charisma’s back touches rope several times, however briefly.

R3: Carpenter realizing the folly of senseless trade, starts to show a little savvy this round. Jessica still bouncing and punching with little thought to placement or angles, just maxing output. Carpenter taking the occasional step back, leaving her left hand on Jessica’s chest to measure her, then nailing the brunette with satisfying right crosses as Biel bounces back in. CC also moving her head more, bending to the side then countering under Jessica’s punches to bang that body. Good round for Charisma--Jessica showing no signs of slowing down, but eagerness betrays her that round.

R4: Shutout Charisma. Carpenter now stepping to her left, drills the jab to the chest, often leaving her arm extended and slicing over the top with whistling right hands that Biel fields clean off her face. Jessica following, impaling herself on the stick, and getting picked up clean by the right hand finally starts to blink as Carpenter owns her this round.

R5: Jessica opens up, wind milling wild overhand right, lounging in with her long lines behind the punches--Charisma has to be sharp, slipping in and down to avoid the haymakers. Awkward round to score--Biel missing wildly for the most part--but Charisma unable to fire back much--Carpenter steering her girl with the jab, but it’s a toss up round in the cards.

R6: Jessica’s committed to slugging, walking Carpenter down, reaching with a pawing, measuring left and bending into slinging right hands with bad intentions. Carpenter staying in the pocking, snapping her jab, banging back Jessica’s face and often getting the better of things simply by being first. Charisma’s body work starting to tell--Biel’s mouth breathing, and her power punches are leaving her vulnerable to 2 and 3 hard licks to the waist every time she misses.

R7: Carpenter putting it all together. She breaks Jessi down in the first minute with the speed jab and lateral movement, then pounds her way inside with straight right hands that have the younger girl’s hands dropping. Final minute messy, cl9cnhes and arm locks as Biel’s frustration gets the better of her--Charisma riding it out, letting her calm demeanor go to work on Jessica’s psyche.

R8: Carpenter back on Biel’s body, and this time it’s the A material. Crippling left hooks in behind the elbow have Biel hunching over--Carpenter cruelly pivoting to her right, ripping to the stomach from the new angle, and Jessi takes a knee with a groan, Up at 8, Biel with her elbow sin, face pinched as Carpenter wades back in--meanspirited, determined snapping blows, wide right hands to thje kidneys, whipping left hooks to the liver--Jessica turning her body, trying to clinch to slw Cc down. Final minute, Carpenter beating Jessica into retreat, concentrating on the hook to the side, and Biel uncorks a looping overhand right that spanks face flush! Carpenter suddenly helpless‘, staggering sideways, hands at her temples--a hurting Jessica Biel bodies Carpenter into the ropes and flails away, palming with the left and slashing right hands at the bell. Tough round both girls stupefied, trembling in their corners.

R9: Carpenter berating it out of Jessica this round--older girl walking the younger down, reaching in under Biel’s arms to open up the body, then lashing heartlessly at the ribs and belly as Jessica crumbles. Lots of standing, wrestling, but Carpenter the stronger girl always gets her way, continues lanky slugging after brief interruptions. Biel left cringing on the ropes at the bell--Carpenter nods, mouth open, near exhaustion herself.

R10: Return to the frenetic, mindless punching of the early rounds as the girls bounce around one another at closer range, just trying to make contact. Each shrugging off punishment as both girls have lost steam on their punches--they’re just licking at each other’s bodies, diving in on one another’s chins in withering trade all around the ring--often landing simultaneously,. Rousing work rate greeted with enthusiastic applause as the girls keep slugging  mindlessly at the bell. Come back UD10 Charisma Carpenter.

After: Carpenter bounces back, puts down a whippersnapper, and with Richards moving on up to lightweight, things don’t look all that bad for Charisma. Harrowing first round winds up just being a wake up call--maybe a more experienced Biel gets Charisma out of there. Jessica with the tools, but wasted a lot energy in this fight--a little discretion could have gone a long way. Give Carpenter credit through--she made Jessica eat the L--Biel didn’t beat herself tonight.
