3. Kate Beckinsale vs Kelly Overton (Bantamweight)

Kate:

BEFORE:
“If you ask me, I think she’s trying a little too hard to be me,” Kate Beckinsale saying with a smile at the press conference, occasionally glancing at Kelly Overton at the other end of the table. “Look at the roles I’ve been in, and compare them to what she’s done. The only reason why VIX invited her here tonight is for me kick her arse.”

Overton smirking and rolling her eyes, arms crossed over her chest as she pushes strands of auburn hair from the front of her face.

“You can tell when someone’s getting desperate when they book these kind of fights. Now, I’m no expert, and while I’m proud to be making my debut performance tonight, I intend to put Beckinsale down on her back and send her back to the stone age, where she definitely belongs. I’ve got the training to back me up and the goods, not to mention the actual starring role in Van Helsing. So, no, I think only one actress is walking outta that ring tonight.”

We get an intense staredown as American and British women smile confidently into each other’s faces at the podium. Both are seasoned and mature enough to not try anything else funny, however, and an hour later, they find themselves at opposite sides of the ring, prepared to go for ten rounds of Bantamweight action. Which of these action starlets will prevail? The referee sounds the bell and HERE we go to find out!

ROUND 1:
Kate rocking her on-screen rival early in this fight, with Kelly’s overly cautious behaviour getting in the way of both her own attacking and defending. Beckinsale fills the void gladly enough, slams a one-two-three jab and hook combo into her arms early on, thrashing Overton around and suddenly throwing her backwards on the defensive. Even then, Kelly can’t quite compete with the veteran British actress, even at long range is forced to defend against a multitude of jabs sailing in at her head from afar, with Kate having no intentions of letting up the pressure. Jabs keep landing on the American’s nose as a result, and the round ends with Overton barely getting any points in by her herself. Beckinsale smiling widely at the bell, looking like a million pounds as she sees this performance as validation that she’s still got the skills to be in the ring.

ROUND 2:
Kelly still getting into the mood with a slow dance around Beckinsale, but now infinitely more cautious after knowing her dance partner wants to go fast. Overton blocking more effectively this time, however, rocking punches back to the nose and lips with more frequency now that she’s gotten a little more used to Kate’s aggressive style. Beckinsale on the other hand revealing the kind of dinosaur she’s supposed to be, one relic amongst many of days gone past as she refuses to adapt to Kelly’s tighter moves, still tries to slip in punches but getting hit instead by Overton’s counter-defenses. Bell rings and at least Kate scores on the tummy with a high feint then a low swinging hook from the side, drawing a deep grunt from Overton. But when the bell rings and she can’t capitalise, it’s Kelly who ends up taking the round by a small margin.

ROUND 3:
Kate no longer smiling as she brainstorms how to dismantle this foe of hers for good. Still playing the aggressive card, she takes deliberate steps forward and then strikes outwards with both hands, but she’s disappointed when most of her punches land on Overton’s forearms. Kelly biting back instead, knocking her head back with shocking, painful snap jabs to the nose, stopping her advances on multiple occasions. Beckinsale’s fans and some of the Vixens cheering her on by ringside, then suddenly left gasping as their lead woman gets battered and bruised across the ring. Overton letting rip another straight right cross aimed high - thankfully, it glances off the arms and slams into Kate’s body instead, drawing a grunt from British lips but thankfully leaving the Vixen still standing. Bell rings and it’s another straight round for Kelly Overton, who’s starting to get the hang of this boxing thing for sure!

ROUND 4:
Girls each look to cement their lead as they come forward at the same time, arms already pulled back and ready to swing for the fences. Kate initiates first blood with a hook landing to the side of Kelly’s head, which throws her off-guard immediately. Follow-up from Overton however catches her on the ribs, then another pounding shot rattles her bad, sending Beckinsale stumbling off to the side. It’s the second minute and they STILL refuse to back down, continuing to stay at close quarters and banging away! Overton picking up her pace as she targets the Brit’s toned midsection, pounding in mitts thud thud thud, but as a result, she eats a few hard swipes across the face as Kate punishes her back with thundering hooks. At the end of the day, Overton’s the one looking dazed, her head swimming wildly, as a third such hook lands hard, pushing her head to one side as she crashes sideways into the ropes, using it to stabilise herself. Kate elbows in close, left-right combo smack whap disappearing into those abs, then a right uppercut STACKS Kelly upwards hard! She’s looking completely gobsmacked as she takes a couple of steps back, then FALLS forward in complete shock!

KNOCKDOWN for Kate Beckinsale in one of the earliest feats for the aging Brit in recent memory! Beckinsale back to beaming as she steadies herself, eyes then glaring down at Overton, who’s trying to scramble off her butt. Kelly knocked silly and finding it difficult to rise up to her feet fully - legs still shaky as she tries to rise from her knees. Referee counting her out steadily, and there’s growing panic in the blonde’s eyes as she’s her body gives up pass its breaking point! Ref waves his arms and this fight is over!!

Official Decision: Kate Beckinsale defeats Kelly Overton via KO4!

AFTER:
Wow - Kate Beckinsale showing her girls how it’s done tonight by putting away Overton in under four rounds! The newest head of the company celebrating modestly, one hand in the air, a curt smile on her lips, before she immediately walks over to Overton to try and help her former opponent stand back up.

Friendly words exchanged between both these action stars, and they conclude with a cordial pat on the shoulder. Kate beaming and letting out a sigh of relief as she returns to her own corner, where she is congratulated by a few of her girls and the Head Trainer himself, Steve Boyd.

Beckinsale’s finding some latest success in the ring, and the future seems to be getting brighter and brighter for this Brit!
